No Crew Mode For NBA 2K13

During a recent interview with US Sports Down Under, NBA 2K13 Producer, Erick Boenisch let the cat out of the bag, as he confirmed no Crew Mode for NBA 2K13. This marks the second year in a row Crew Mode will not be featured in the game.

I think one or two things will happen.

1) They will make minimal changes to 2k14, and add crew

or

2) They will just wait until they have serious competition again to bring crew back.

2k is dominating sales right now. Sadly, this means they can afford to hold back a little...

Well the only reason I liked Crew was to do like someone else said, show off my My Player and I played with in the rules (6'5" defensive Shooting Guard) and I dominated but I would rather them get it right instead of throwing it out there because people are demanding it. To be honest they should do like most games do and just put restrictions on what you can do online. I you want your My Player character to be a 7'0" PG offline then cool but when you try to take him online he isn't allowed. The funny thing is people that did or had all 99's would still lose because they didn't know how to play the game. So I say bring it back put restrictions on the mode and if they try to exploit the mode let them get embarressed because obviously if you have to cheat to win you will get exposed.

Sad day for us Crew Fans and those who haven't got to experience what we were fussing about but even tho it's not what I wanna hear, I'm satisfied with 2K finally responding to that. Crew fans we gotta accept this no matter what, the reason we'll never know but nothing will change at this point.

I think I speak for the majority when I say crew mode is a waste of disc space . The People who are going crazy for the mode are clearly in the minority & mostly confined to this forum therefore 2k isn't gonna waste time w/ it .. honestly speaking . This is still gonna be the best ball game ever regardless.

I didn't think it was the best mode in the world, but MyCrew was just fun for me. On 2K11 I had a reason to get my player better so I could do good in Crew Mode and on the online blacktop. In 2K12, of course MyPlayer was fun, but I felt like I was playing for no reason. Once I got good it got boring playing against the computer all the time. But at least they brought back blacktop games and they added some new features to MyPlayer mode.

to the people who are mad at the developers - it's most likely a technical issue that is keeping them from bringing back crew. my guess is they couldn't get crew working right, so they're holding off until they can get it working....there's nothing wrong with that. 2k didn't just leave crew out to be mean - 2k isn't dumb enough to leave out such a popular mode just for laughs. they'll add it when they get it working properly.

its no biggie for me, i mean i love my crew and it was a great in 2k11 but once everybody started hacking the mode it killed it for me, the day i had to play against a 7ft. tall nate robinson i was done with it. i'll be extremely happy with my career and my team. no offense but hackers killed it and before crew mode what were you guys playing because a great basketball game shouldn't be neglected because of something you all haven't had for 2 years now............please dont yell at me crew mode fanatics.

They already have stability issues with online play, so this makes sense. In The future crew mode may be just a DLC an add on so to speak.
No crew mode, will not affect my buying decision with 2k13. Its a first day buy for me.

ok, i just read the whole article and i fully support what they are trying to do here....get your servers and online capabilities right then build on it. i remember in 2k11 having to put my location on Islamabad or something just to get a crew game so im not mad at them at all. last year was a new network built from scratch so they are trying, online connections is what most people complained about anyway. read the whole article you guys.

These people just dont get that lol smh they juss have their heads stuck up their butt and are not thinking about why they didnt bring it back, as much as they wanted to.

Terrible news. Don't even feel like saying much about it. What I don't understand is why they had to shutdown Crew for 2K11. At least let us play that. You can still play everything else online except Crew and maybe Online Leagues. At least they told us this time though.

Knew this was coming. I did want to try the mode out this year because I got a good group of guys I know would be down. They did bring back blacktop though which I played more than anything at the time and it's even more fleshed out than ever.

To be honest, I'm more disappointed that there are no tiers for players outside of MyPlayer. Doesn't it make more sense to have levels for actual players than for some fictional player? Here's hoping either hex edits or the PC version allows you to somehow do it.

I disagree. I'm sure the majority think it's a cool feature. The majority DOES agree that it's not the big make or break feature that some people act like it is. Especially considering the ability to hack it and the other craziness around it. So, yeah, the people jumping off a cliff about it are a minority. But it IS a feature I would LOVE to have in the game and will play as long as it's free of cheaters and hacks. Not to mention stable.

People are forgetting the other reason it was removed - most of the online mode were removed for the online rewrite that is STILL in progress. Sounds like with the demo, VC is confident that this is the year online stabilizes. If that is the case, I would put money on Crew being back immediately. And it will return even better than before.
