No Crew Mode For NBA 2K13

During a recent interview with US Sports Down Under, NBA 2K13 Producer, Erick Boenisch let the cat out of the bag, as he confirmed no Crew Mode for NBA 2K13. This marks the second year in a row Crew Mode will not be featured in the game.

The thing i dont get is didnt they say the same thing last year. They knew MOST people really liked crew, so why is it so hard to get the mode back? Personallly i woulda put a crew in this years game and if people dont want to play it because of hacks then fine they can choose not to play it, but then the people that love the mode would still be able to play it, not caring about the hacked players.

Ok i understand that but it isnt gonna make or break the game, and i could care less if i take my player online and play against other people that isnt simulation to me, or team up with my friends on line if anything i wanna compete against my friends on line. If i want that type of on-line experience ill play call of duty not a sports game.

Let me put this to rest. People talking about I don't care if crew mode is in or not. What many of you don't realize is that crew mode was the mountain top of YOUR now MYCAREER mode. I was expecting Crew mode because it serves a purpose of if MyCareer is worth the time. I can't speak for everyone but I logged in the hours/days/months of going thru 2 to 3 seasons of myplayer so I can display him with my friends who do the same thing against others. Yes, my crew is a fantasy mode however, it is a fantasy mode for people who plays 2k for the simulation. Simulation means creating a real life situation and making it virtual. So who doesn't want to create a player (realistically) and show what you worked for. My friends and I, play team-up and have a fun time but its not quite the same. 2k10's crew mode was actually better than 2k11 for the factor that ball playing factors such as leaving the CPU open would penalize you. All 2k had to do is continue to improve on the mode. It is not impossible for them to block hacked players. I am a programmer and the solution is simple. I feel the pain of all the crew game mode fans but that just mean don't waste your time playing mycareer because like me, my guy will be ready for the hall of fame after 2 and a half seasons and theres nothing left to do. Unless they have improved on the other modes, OA was jacked up last year because you had to wait months before you can play your next game. SMH 2k.... theres nothing else to say.

Not a crew fan but a least 2k attempted to add something to fill the gap till they find a way to get a functioning crew mode in props to them for that.

Yes, but a bench player isn't going to get one of those sig skills. I'm fairly confident that true Floor Generals and/or Defensive Anchors will be elite at that type of skill. This seems to be supported by the fact that MyCareer has those at a drastically higher price than the other sig skills AND with a minimum awareness rating.

The fact remains that there are players that do things on the basketball court that don't show up in box scores, but help to make their team better on the offense or defensive end. Whether that's a point guard's ability to run an offense or a defender's ability to scare people away from attacking the paint, the game is affected in ways that don't show up in mere pts/reb/assts/blks/stls/etc. Because of this, I think these are excellent signature skills to include in the game. Jason Kidd is the perfect example. He can put up zero stats, but the team plays better when he's on the floor.

It's true, if scrubs end up with these major skills, than the balance of the game will be thrown out of whack. But, I don't think they will. I doubt we'll be seeing Jimmer with the Floor General skill or Tyrus Thomas with Defensive Anchor.

We'll see once we play it, but to me, 2K seems to have thought things through fairly well and I'm excited to try it all out.

Not surprise MyCrew won't be in the game. Lets be honest when it comes to online game modes 2k sucks. Crew mode is a great concept that 2k couldn't implement correctly the two years it was in their game (2k10,2k11).
Even with all it's problems I enjoyed the game mode. You're sadly mistaken if you believe hacked uncapped 99 player were the biggest issue and the cause for MyCrew to not be in 2k13. The most frustrating and biggest issue was the servers. At times it would take up to a hour and a half to find a game, and if you did find a game in a timely manner most of player would drop before the jump ball.
One of the most interesting thing I read form the Eric Boenisch interview was, "2k11 was not the best year for us online, although it was one of our best selling products our servers were not at all reliable with us at the time". At the end of the day it is a business.

I won't be surprised if EA make their own crew mode and put it in NBA Live next year. Would be a smart move by EA cause it seems 2k can't get it right when it comes to this great mode.

I love Crew as much as anybody but this 3 vs 3 thing is legit too. Ronnie2k said that people wont be able to hack it. play 3 on 3 with some of your boys, have fun in My Career mode. I think it'll be great. I'm a NBA first tho so theres no way i wouldn't get 2k13.

what i don't understand is why some of you care if someone isn't buying game based off one mode. you guys claim this game gonna be so great how do you guys know you haven't played it. some of you fall for the 2k hype everytime.

personally i didn't play crew but i feel for those who really loved it. its a shame that a few bad apples messed it up for everyone. and to you who claiming oh its just a fantasy mode and blah blah isn't the game itself a fantasy in which you are trying to make real. just because you don't like mode doesn't make you better than anyone else so please get over yourselves please

Don't pay any attention to that dude. This "My Player" drop is bs. He has nothing to back up any of his statements.
