Madden NFL 13 News Post


Madden NFL 13 Title Update #2 is available now for 360 users. We'll update this post when PS3 users can see it.

This update includes a new instant start option when creating a player in CCM. The team has also fixed numerous stability issues and GameFace improvements.

While the team hasn't added the ability to edit players in CCM, they still haven't shot down the idea completely, in hopes to have it available in a future patch.

The week 1 Madden NFL 13 updated rosters for CCM are not included in this title update, but are supposed to be out sometime this week.

UPDATE: Here are the details on the title update.
  • Added an Instant Start option to Connected Careers as a player
  • Numerous commentary improvements to address when lines trigger and what they say.
  • Added a trade notification in CCM for the NFL Draft
  • Fixed social media sharing post-game to address spacing issues
  • Improved the GameFace feature
  • Fixed Challenge Audio to make the appropriate call
  • Improved Physics Get-up post play
  • Adjusted created players in Connected Careers so that they always have high progression grades despite their backstory choices
  • Fixed defensive assignment issues against the CPU AI when users were in Man Coverage
  • Increased the chances to trade for a CPU team’s starter
  • Adjusted the scouting development trait in CCM to display as (Slow, Medium, Fast, or Superstar) instead of 0-3.
  • Added the ability to post results from H2H MUT games on Facebook/Twitter.
  • Numerous stability issues around the game in general were also included in the update to improve the overall experience and Connected Careers specifically.

Depth Chart AI? I'm a little confused because I was sure that was working as intended (of course that leads to old running backs running well past there usefulness imo but *shrug)

Can someone confirm if pre existing offline CCM now save correctly the coaching schemes if you change them?

Update: Halftime of my game and I know I was in on a few tackles that should have been assisted.

0 assisted tackles at halftime, looks like that hasn't been addressed as of yet I'm afraid.

I'll check again post game.

I can live without editing. All I want for now is for the simmed stats and supersim to be fixed. I simmed a game that was 10-10 at half time. Game should not end up 54-48 with 900 yards each team..It ruins the Franchise. After first season something like 15 QBs threw for 40 TDs and almost every QB (except mine) threw for 30.

Can someone please Confirm if schemes save? if so, how do you save it.

I just started the game on PS3 and it didnt ask to download a patch. Is PS3 not out yet or why didnt it ask me to download?

Matt Forte at 35 years old listed at #1 on the Bears depth chart and only averaging 2.1 ypc...

Yep. Still there. It's all sorted by OVR and the production trait, which seems to be linked to a career, rather than a season, hence old HBs and other players still starting way too late into their career over young, talented players. Kinda kills the experience.

Unfortunately, that is not a bug. Its wrong, but its not a bug and it would take a reworking of the entire rating process to fix. Not sure thats gonna happen.

It appears that they do not save.

As for assisted tackles, just completed my game and that hasn't been addressed either. Ended up with 0 assisted tackles for both teams in a played game.

I simmed the next game and when you do that it records assisted tackles for some reason.

First off, thank you for the quick update...I was waiting by the comp for a reply.

But I gotta say it...wow, just wow EA...the fact they can't tackle this issue tells me everything I need to know about that "development" team at Madden EA...

Truly disappointed at this point...

i was cool with everything else, all i wanted was the schemes to save so i can have the correct rating for my players and hire, fire and draft based off that and they could not even do that. I just wanted one thing C'Mon man

(online ccm) they did SOME gameplay tweaks. CPU so is moving the ball through the air much better. CPU ai on the ground still not good. outside runs are better. But passing for user is wayyyy easier too.

Gameplay noticeably cleaner and crisper in CCM. Not more challenging. Im in an offline CCM using charter's normal sliders
