For those who are having trouble with KINECT you need to turn the volume all the way down on the T.V. because the KINECT sensor is hearing the crowd the announcers and you, therefore nothing happens when you try and use voice commands....kinda sucks that you have to turn the volume down but its a great feature to use, especially on defense...needs headset intergration.

Thats not the point,we do appreciate the new zoom cam view that mike young added. It's just we should have custom camera views by now so everybody would be happy.Plain and simple some people do not like the birds eye view camera/default camera in Madden.

It was only after I realized that 2k wasn't making any games any time soon was I able to pick up a Madden game. Now I actually enjoy Madden simply for what it is. I do want it to get better and one day challenge a game from 8 years ago on a ps2 but if it doesn't happen oh well. 2k did so many things that were better than Madden that if you constantly compare the two you will simply never enjoy Madden. I have to have football video games in my life so I put 2k to rest...lol
Ditto!! My exact same experience.

I don't know what everyone elses experience may be, but for a demo this game is smooooth. Should it have been like this years ago? Yes. Does it suck that some of the other modes and overall control was taken away? Yes, but at least we are on the verge of what possibly seems to be a really good-great game. Nothings perfect, but at least it's a lot of fun and that is what matters most. The atmosphere is hyped up and commentary is better than expected. Camera not so great, but could be worse. Gameplay seems on point so far and things that should be happenning, are. It feels good to just get out of the same old engine that we have been accustomed to over the years. Madden 13 feels new and thats good enough for me.

So I certainly am not attempting to convince you that M13's camera work is better than M12 -- I just see more similarities than I do differences.
I just mean they aren't as dynamic as last year, reminds me more of Madden 10-11 than 12.

glad it isnt just me mentioning the lighting. this is the only thing i can see taking enjoyment away from what looks like a great game.

I'm going down to a 7 if the signature animations don't work better in the retail. I care.

I actually do not like this year's Madden at all so far. I was very excited for this game and now I may end up canceling my pre-order. I'm surprised that more people don't feel this way. Here are a few reasons why:

The tackling is terrible. More times than not, it's just 2 players colliding into each other and unrealistically falling in separate directions. The physics are there, but I would say 75% of the time it is also unrealistic. I have been tripped so many times, it's like they all just learned to walk. I can't tell you how many times the play would be long over and as people are walking back to the huddle they just trip and fall over somebody. Do they all have their eyes closed or what is going on?

The passing I am fine with, it's similar to NCAA as far as the players needing to look for the ball. I don't have any major complaints with this.

Presentation is fine I suppose.

Commentary is terrible as usual. A lot of times I hit my WR in the hands and he drops it and they go on a long speech about how I need to find a way to hit the receiver with the ball but that I was way off target.

Why does my defender always chase after the ball in the air on FG kicks like he's a dog chasing a bone? 25 yard FG kick, he's running after it like he needs to return it for a TD.

I am also annoyed that when the player gets caught in a bad position while getting tackled or at the bottom of a pile, his body completely freaks out and starts spinning. I've also noticed player's arms getting caught behind their backs on the ground and they are still holding perfectly onto the ball. Or the arm won't know where to go so it just goes through the ground.

I think people are saying this is good purely off of hype. I personally don't think they should be allowed to release the game purely just off the terrible tackling and physics. It's like they played Backbreaker a few times and released a failed attempt at their own engine. So like I said, this is all just an opinion, but I am canceling my pre-order for this year's version. I actually miss last year's tackling and I thought last year was bad too.

Anyone else wish they had more time to set up their defense pre-play ?

# 271 Bootzilla @ 08/14/12 01:39 PM
Gonna have to bump up the catch slider on All-Madden. The rest of the game plays fine All-Madden but, the receivers can't catch a lick. Redskins 5 drops in a row. Some I've tried to manual catch others I've tried to let the cpu catch for me and they get their hands up and the ball just bounces right off of their hands.

So far on All-Pro I complete 80% plus of my passes and on All-Madden 40% which would have been at least 70% if not for flat out drops.

The funny thing too is that Simms is saying how bad my throws are when the ball is hitting the receivers right in the hands.

Really? Any idea if this is going to change? I only really go online to download rosters for sports games and DLC for other things so I don't plan on getting gold.

Can anybody confirm if a playable broadcast camera is still in the game???!!! Much appreciated !

Do you actually have to have a Gold Membership to download this demo? It's not even showing up on the new released demos or anywhere else. When I try typing it in and selecting the game it gives me some dumb error and a status code that says try again later...

I-TWIN Slants = Money Play still

Half time show ?

I absolutly loved the commentary and crowd noise this year... very good, keep up the good work here.

Xfinity.. liking it so far only played 2 games though.

Havent tried Kinect interface yet.

I havent bought Madden the last 2 years but with the inclusion of a complete online franchise mode and the other upgrades I'm leaning toward a buy for Madden 13.
YES! When you're facing the sun in-game, it's nearly impossible to see tell the difference between the Seahawks and Redskins.

Did I say anything to the contrary?

He posted earlier he felt the camera was too far back, and said Madden needed a zoom camera. I posted the Mike Young link.

I know all about the view and how a lot of people don't like it. I would like a better view, too.

That's another thing that really bothers me. With as little personality as Madden has, one of the things that made qbs feel different, is damn near removed. I felt like I was playing with different qb's in Madden 12, now I really didn't notice a different when throwing with the qbs in 13. The sig style is supposed to improve, not regress. Even if they didn't improve, at least get it fixed so it doesn't seem non-existant. Idk man, maybe if I hadn't played NCAA, this game would be cooler, but it just seems like more of the same for me, and the things that were better about Madden last year are gone. Also I don't seen the IE as the gamechanger others see it as. Just makes the game look more goofy than it already is. Still waiting for retail, but I'm not excited at all anymore.

I don't get it. When you watch the videos posted at E3 by mad scientist 06. The cutscenes are zoomed in close and look really good, but now they are zoomed out on the demo, why did they feel the need to change it between then and now. I feel like Madden 12 had better between play views that were more realistic and true to a real brodcast presentation.

I'm not sure how I feel about this game or series anymore. There is not a madden I have not bought, but the best way to describe is bored! This game bores me! I bought last years version but barely played it. So I was excited to play this years version as it was almost 2 years off basically and I loved all the hype I was hearing around RTP. I was disappointed to here editing players ratings and equipment is out as that's what I love to do most. The game plays so much better when edited properly. I think of playmakers great work here.

Anyways, here are my impressions...

I like the new announcers! I was tired of collinsworth and Gus. It's nice to have some new blood in the booth.

Plays are the same and there is really no differential from team to team schemes. I am so bored with maddens play books!

Defensive ends as a user and interaction with tackles is still unplayable for me. This area needs to be worked on as the trenches are what wins and loses games! In all sports games I think they need to go back to the basics and fundamentals of the sport to replicate what we see on tv every week.

RTP is 50/50 for me. I think next year this will be improved but I have seen some pretty funny things with tackles but I have also seen some great tackles and pile ups as well. 1 thing that bugs me is when the running back gos up the middle and hits his own offensive lineman and then falls down?! Running up the middle which was fun last year seems gone again this year.

Kicking meter blah

Halftime blah

I love the touch passing

Graphics in the demo or the lighting isn't right but I'm sure it will be fine in retail.

All in all for the 1st time ever I will NOT be buying madden 13. I will wait for 14 or next gen and hope for some changes with this series. The fun factor for me is like a 2 when it used to be a 10. :-( is it better than previous versions? The answer is probably yes but it's not different enough for me to feel like it is.
