The huge announcement was a huge disappointment because we were expecting completely different things.Ok,maybe this is our fault but the 2k guys should have prepared us somehow of where this was heading.
But there is also something else that bothers me: Having Michael Jordan announce Jay Z as the producer of a basketball game is like EA have Maradona announce Elton John(he is part owner of soccer clubs) as the producer of their soccer game (only difference is Elton John is more famous worldwide than Jay Z). It is kind of disrespectful to the values of the sport. If it was the other way around-"nba 2k13-executive producer Michael Jordan, announced by Jay Z"-it would sound much better and would make more sense.

At first 2k was like Yes! Then I was like NO!:
">

Then I wanted to do this:
">

Then after I did that 2K had me like:
">

Then 2k continued to mock me:
">

Then I wanted to:
">
">

But 2k knows I'm still going to buy their game so they were like:
">
">

Now I'm like:
">

Wasn't aware that there was a "big announcement" coming so this came as a pretty sweet surprise to me. A lot of good tracks imo. I'm loving that "victory" is in this. Seems like a track list that people are either going to love or hate based on your preference for music.

I can understand why 2k hyped this announcement up since having jay-z, one of the biggest names in music over the past decade, produce the soundtrack for a videogame is pretty exciting and can attract more fans. Can't think of many games that have had a music producer this well known and popular in the world. Unfortunately for 2k their true fans don't want to hear that the "biggest announcement in 2k history" is about the soundtrack. Its a great addition to the game but to be honest most of us would still play and buy the game if it was a barney soundtrack...as long as the game and gameplay was top notch all around. When I think "biggest announcement in 2k history" I think of something like a new physics system or gameplay engine...not music. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a long list of great features for the game.

I highly doubt you have any clue what you're talking about... give us some proof instead of trying to get everybody's hopes up so you can just sit there and laugh you sick ****

the soundtrack seems good to me and also in the NBA 2K13 trailer I also saw Under Armour, State Farm and many other ads that will add some realism to the game from a graphical standpoint

Im down for this year's soundtrack. I usually cut all songs off and just play my ipod. But my favorite rapper Mr.West got play on this edition so I'm all for it

The soundtrack seems alot better than last year. I'm so sick of hearing Curtis Blow's Basketball song. Would of liked to have Joe Budden's version of Pump it Up, instead of a Jay-Z's freestyle. Other then that, I'm still going to buy 2k13 and it's already pre-ordered.

Maybe with the arrival of Jay-Z, the create a player system will be alot better.

Anyone else dissapointed with the soundtrack? I don't line how it's almost all rap, the mix of rap and rock in 2k11 and 2k12 was good.

It's the same mixture of rock, pop and rap as all the other 2k soundtracks. I counted about 9 rock/pop tracks. I don't know, maybe it looks like too much rap music because there are alot of Jay-Z tracks. It would of been better it they got more underground hip-hop acts instead of the extra Jay-z tracks. Are you not a hip-hop fan?

I'm not a huge fan of the tracks being featured in this year's game. I like a lot of hip-hop, but mostly not Jay-Z and the others being featured (I do like Mobb Deep. . . except I've heard the selected track 2,233,000 times). Similarly, I like non-hip-hop, but not Coldplay and U2 (though I do like Daft Punk. . . except I've heard the selected track 4,300,113 times already).

Like you, I'll be missing the underground tracks. I'll also be missing the chance to learn about new artists and music 2K normally provides. Instead, much of their listing seems to be made up of music many of us have likely already heard way too many times as it is.

Real talk, this bombed but I get what they were tryna do. Personally, all I wanna hear is that Master Mike Wang was able to fit the entire Live 10 control scheme as an alternate in this game. I think I will cry tears of, 'FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST...' of this dumb, unintuitive iso-motion bs so I can FINALLY, truly enjoy NBA2K and the rest of it's glory.
personally im not mad at the power move 2k made forming a partnership with HOV...executive producer rights gives jay the freedom to generate a lot of well needed press to draw in more consumers and maybe investors that can shell out funds to possibly fix things such as online servers, more endorsements in myplayer mode, and other celebrities for courtside appearances. we really dont know the depths of his executive producer title. instead of looking at it in a negative way, im going to wait to see the outcome b4 i start talking bad about this announcement

I would have liked and been surprised by this announcement if there wasn't the misjudged 2K build-up. Sure, the soundtrack's nice and Jay-Z's involvement will probably improve the game in other areas but for the biggest announcement ever I would have liked other things. People say that Jay-Z will bring in casual fans, but surely full TNT presentation would have as well. I was hoping for College Hoops, but that was a pipe dream. I would have also liked real physics, but we'll probably have to wait until next gen for that. I would have liked them to refine the isomotion moves and make slashing more successful (they still might). Fix the pick and roll also (bring back to 2K11 standards). Remove some of the cheese in this game

I have a horrible feeling this will just be 2K12 but with the Brooklyn Nets and Jay-Z.

First the never said that big announcement had anything to do with game play, I believe they even made it clear that it was not, as for isomotion Mike Wang already said he was focusing on isomotion this year as he was not a fan of the current, "I have a horrible feeling this will just be 2K12 but with the Brooklyn Nets and Jay-Z " Really are we on this already, every statemtent 2k has released they compared 2k13 to 11 and how when they played it they got that feeling of a huge leap forward from the last game, we will find out soon when when 2k invites those guys to play the game early.

Please don't remove the other genres of music in 2k! I have a feeling that having Jay-Z on board will result in a hip-hop dominated soundtrack.
