NCAA Football 13 News Post

The release of NCAA Football 13 is only a few short weeks away. But what do we know about the game so far? The demo is out, so the short answer is “a lot.” But there are a number of things that remain uncertain that will affect whether NCAA Football 13 goes down as the best NCAA game of this console generation or as another disappointment.

Penalties in this game make me frustrated. Why even have a slider for pass interference when it's never possible? On Heisman difficulty the Defensive AI HAS to run through you to make it difficult. Yet, no PI. It's just the CPU cheesing. But really, I would like to see penalties happen more often as they do in real life.

check around the 5:00 mark in this vid

looks to me like just about everything can be improved with winning/signing better players. The only things it seems you cant change are proximity to home and playing time for obvious reasons

Damn you NCAA! Your suppose to be moving forward. Not backwards. You fell off the chain.
they didnt move backwards, they just didnt keep up and for good reason. next year they will have it all back in plus this connected thing. have you ever seen a good feature for the first year on a EA football game? Im glad madden will test out new engine a year before NCAA.

Any word on 85 man rosters, custom neutral site games, custom rivalries?

No large variety of equipment edits (mouth pieces...HELLO) no spring games, no imported draft classes? The game looks like its going backwards instead of staying what is true to college football. We don't need slo mo throws, are you kidding me with that? Looks like i'll be rotating ncaa 12 and madden 12 like i had to do with 2k11 with marsh's sick roster sets. ncaa 13...i'll pass and save that $65! Preciate that EA!

They'll add the import feature back alright. It'll be some premium feature/DLC....you'll be able to save on it by subscribing to some new EA fantard service. I'll probably cave when the time comes, though....I always do.

Everyone seems to be bashing the Import feature. Yes.. I understand that it sucks and it takes away from the game a whole bunch.. But its still a FOOTBALL game right?? I mean, you can still play Madden/NCAA 12 if you want and import all you wish, but just because one feature that we all like.. got dumped.. (Again), doesnt mean you stop playing the game entirely.

I just bought the game yesterday, having not researched it online (stupid). I just figured "oh, it will probably be a lot like last year's game, as usual, with a few new perks." I definitely did not expect that my favorite part of the game - building dynasties and exporting draft classes to Madden and building franchises there - would be taken away. I have not even popped the game in yet, and I more than likely won't. I just wish i wouldn't have removed the wrapper. Oh well, my 30 dollar store credit toward a different game at gamestop will be worth taking it back.

Not being able to export draft classes is a major downer, kinda wish I had known before I bought the game - I loved watching my custom named guys progress in the pros. But there does seem to be a screen in the Dynasty off-season where it tells you what players are being drafted... What I plan on doing (next season anyway, too late for my first draft class) is write down their names and stats, and then hopefully Madden 13 will have a Create a Player option where I can create them as rookies to be drafted. I guess I'd have to do that each year, wonder what the limit on created players is... Anyway, just an idea for a workaround for a pretty annoying situation...

Ouya is a cool idea, but it's not the answer here. It's basically a mobile tablet gaming platform you can hook up to your TV and have a controller for. It's got a pretty underpowered chip set (compared to the major consoles), so it's not going to be capable of anywhere close to the complexity or graphical fidelity of your average 360 or PS3 game. Is it possible that Ouya could have some really fun, great games on it? Absolutely. But it simply doesn't have the horsepower (or the developer backing, yet) to support a football game that could contend with this year's (admittedly lackluster) effort from EA.
