NBA Live 13 Preview

I recently got the chance to see NBA Live 13 in action and while the results weren't the greatest to be sure, there were some helpful tidbits of information you could gather from my initial viewing. The NBA Live 13 team showed us an early pre-alpha version of the game, which according to the Developers, was 60% complete -- so it was a quite early version of the game which probably won't represent the final product given the games early build.

also after reading this article, i have to say, where the hell is the community guy who got chosen for the advisory council? Is this the same build they seen and played? I believe it is and have to say, at the moment they have lost all credibility with me, WOW!

The NBA Live dev team admitted there were some bugs within the build they displayed, but also claim the foundation has been set and the bugs will be fixed.

Im a fan of both just wanted 2 let u kno

But NBA LIVE 13 is gunna be like MADDEN 13 .... EVERYBODY gunna be doubting them then they gone start talking about ALL the features then WATCH this forum CHANGE

I'm hoping it would be better than NBA Live 10 which I liked quite a bit. Sounds pretty rough so far.

According to this preview the game was only about 60% done. That's only a little more than half. We still have plenty of time before the near final product is presented. I think (hope) EA comes with a solid game. I really want to switch it up and buy Live over 2k this year. Im getting a little tired of 2k and 2k13 looks pretty much the same as 2k12. Like I said its still in early development. The screenshots look good as far as graphics and detail go. Let's just judge the game when we get video from the near finished product (80-90%) done.

Good honest preview. I still think the animations can get touched up quite a bit. Three months is quite a bit of time to fix it. I honestly don't think the animations are the problem on why they look weird or speed up. I think the problem is memory allocation, where instead of most memory being spent on the game, the memory is being focused somewhere else, and that could cause the game animations to skip frames. Sorry if that is rough explanation. Because when you animate an animation you set the frame rate at which it animates, you have numerous options. So I don't think it's the animations themselves but something else. Check out the below picture.

smh... 2k dont have any competition in the basketball department and they knew it....
its ea sports ... 2ks been killin ea sports for years...
last good nba live game i played was 05 or whenever melo was on the cover after that things got alot boring...
ea should give 2k all the rights to espn .. it bet it would make for a much better basketball game..
i knew live was done after i seen the pics .. it looks the exact same and its sad because its 2012.. not saying graphics mean much but they did have 2 years off so what have they done??

The online play should be great. Can't stand the crappy 2k servers.

I enjoyed Live 10 online over anything I've played on the 2k online.

Didn't Steve say there was no/minimal off-the-ball movement? And the speed was too fast with no speed slider.

I'm starting to think it was just the build that Steve saw, because this interview makes it seem like all the fundamentals are going to be there come launch (rebounding, passing, movement, etc.). I think they were there to show off passing and that's what they did.

This video left a better impression than the preview Steve wrote, but i know OS keeps it real, and EA has to say good stuff. So its up until we see gameplay.

I don't care. If the servers are good for online team play, I'll buy it. I just can't stand 2K servers disconnecting me every time I'm in a middle of a good game.

I heard NBA Live 13 is sharing some technolology that NHL & Fifa uses. I want to hear more about this collision system.
