NBA Live 13 Preview

I recently got the chance to see NBA Live 13 in action and while the results weren't the greatest to be sure, there were some helpful tidbits of information you could gather from my initial viewing. The NBA Live 13 team showed us an early pre-alpha version of the game, which according to the Developers, was 60% complete -- so it was a quite early version of the game which probably won't represent the final product given the games early build.

I am Disappointed. I was expecting something new and fresh with a two year dev period. Not necessarily the best, but just fresh and not broken this far in.

I guess I can't be to shocked, I mean they did have an article on Kotaku stating don't look at this game as being on a 2 year dev cycle but more of a regular 1 year cycle...EA seems to be in it just for the money not the love for the sport, they seem to not give 2 sh*ts about the game of basketball. That's how I am feeling after this preview but hopefully I am completely wrong and they pull out a well respectable product but when you show people a half-*** build at E3 it's almost a slap in the face.

Didint he say the game was only 60% done....This is disappointing they better get this stuff fixed up for the demo.

Noooooo bueno, noooooooooooo bueno. EXACTLY what I was afraid of. EA was TOO quiet about this game in recent months and this is why. I have a hard time believing this game is going to be halfway decent by launch, at this point. EA has proven time and time again to be delusional in thinking they're putting out great product and I believe that for them to show this at E3 "pre-alpha" after all that happened wit Elite, further shows this.
I could be wrong when it's all said and done but I seriously doubt this game is gunna be worth much of a purchase.

I am not making excuses for them just telling you the fact, they did not have a whole 2 years to develop this game, so people expectations should not be that high.

I don't get why they didn't use every bit of time they had on development. It's not sounding too good right now. I don't know what 60%supposed to look like, but it doesn't sound good.

Where did you get this information from? All in all this is what they were able to come up with and it sounds very disappointing, if this is the best they can do, then they should have just released elite and elite 12. If two years couldn't get you a head then what will? I mean the regular dev cycle is so short and your give that amount of time, they should have something that can at least contend with 2k. That's all i'm saying. But I don't see how two years they run out of time.

Well, looks like it will NBA 2K13 for me then. Damn, I was hoping Live would be some serious competition to get 2K Sports back on their game.

WTF! how in the world can they have been working on this game for 2 years and at 60% done there was nothing good to say about the gameplay. Too fast, animations looked jerky. sounds like the same ol' live to me. The only thing that sounded good was the graphics and the presentation. VERY DISAPPOINTED! Yes 2k13 looked like 2k12 but atleast it will feel like basketball not nba jam. EA did all that preaching about sim sim sim and the game sounds arcady.

Very Satisfied with the Truth of this early review, but it's early, But 2 years is enough i thought. Plus I never did like the models on live"s players.
