Okay guys...

Here is the Spring Training version of the Operation Sports Full Minors for 2012, for MLB 12 The Show.

This initial set looks really tight... and there is some FANTASTIC work done on these. Dare I say... the best set yet.

There are too many to thank for this... and I will come back and fill out this post with all those involved, as I know you guys want to get your hands on these and start your franchises.

Here is the link for the OSFM ST v.1They will be up in the Vault momentarily...
  • File name: O.S.F.M. SPRING
Thanks for all your patience... and most of all enjoy!!!

I just want to thank some people... and I have to say... this community is truly exceptional. Operation Sports is simply the best run website I visit. Bar none... and the members that frequent here are one of the main reasons. Good people attract other good people.

In no particular order... I really need to thank all of the people involved in the making of this set... as this is a true community effort and without all of these guys, it would make the process much harder and much, much longer.

Thanks to:

I'd like to thank ksig24 for his insight and input into the potential base for the set...

... and last but CERTAINLY not least...
RidinDwnKingsley...

Without his TREMENDOUS work and the immense amount of time that he puts into these rosters... they would have taken 3 times as long to do.

I CANNOT say enough about this, as his dedication and sheer bulldog mentality to get it done, means so much to these.

Also to Steve... the owner of O.S. and the mods on here who make it easy to keep the threads in order and viable to use in conjunction with the set.

...and of course thanks to the entire O.S. community for all the input that you guys have been putting into these for YEARS!

THANK YOU!

Guys.....a lot of people have requested to give back in response to these rosters. They offer thanks and several have offered money.
I suggest charities if you really want to do something as a thanks to these.

My suggested charities....The N.Y.C. FireFighters Burn Center....Wounded Warriors....or .....http://www.extra-life.org/

Thank you!

Hey,

Just go to the Vault in the in game menu, select rosters and then download. Once you download them just select them when you start a season or franchise or RTTS and they will load as the roster for that career.

Any problems just let us know

Now that the Cubs have finally finalized their minor league rosters I was able to glance them over and come up with some suggestions that you can use in the next version of the roster (if you'd like, I know you've already put in a ton of work on these and it's impossible to get every last player into the game).

Subtractions:
Justin Berg RP - now with the Yankees organization
Oswaldo Martinez RP - I couldn't find him anywhere in the Cubs organization
John Gaub RP - claimed off waivers today by the Tampa Bay Rays
Matthew Spencer LF - converted to a pitcher

Additions:
Nate Robertson RP - former Tiger, now with the Iowa Cubs
Ryan Rowland-Smith RP - also a member of the Iowa Cubs
Hayden Simpson RHP - former first round pick
Michael Burgess OF - starting OF with Tennessee
Zeke DeVoss - top 2B prospect in the organization
Roderick Shoulders - decent 1B prospect - lower in the organization

Obviously I have more additions than subtractions, I just threw together a list of names to consider when replacing the subtractions I listed as well as possible replacements if you decide to remove somebody already in the set.

Again, I'm not trying to nit pick the rosters or anything, just looking to make suggestions, whether you use them or not is your call - I'll definitley be using the rosters either way and love the set as it stands. Thanks again guys!
Robertson, Smith, Burgess and DeVoss will be substituted if Knight sees this message. Simpson fell of the charts. He just hasn't been able to handle the pro level.

If trying to add players from FA pool or release a player from these rosters not in Franchise, just on the main menu is there anyway around having to swap the free agent with another player?

I'd give him a full season where he isn't recovering from mono before I write him off completely. He actually got better as the season wore on last year. Still not great but as he got less sick he got better

Let's make sure he sees that message. haha Zeke Devoss is definitely a must add. I would agree to Simpson, as well.

(yells) Knight, over here!

I saw him pitch in Arizona last spring though. He just didn't impress me on anything. Usually you'd say, "dang, that guys throws hard" or "that guy can place the ball wherever he wants" or "his stuff is flat out nasty". I didn't think one of those things about him. I disagreed with that pick from the second they took him. Undersized D2 pitcher in the first round? I know he had a great career but, "cmon man!"

Awesome. I have no idea.

As for Simpson, you may be right, but there could be numerous reasons for why you got that impression. You said yourself that it was during spring training and even great pitchers look like really good amateurs at times during spring training.

thanks Knight! again you and your crew out due yourselves..

Alright, that sounds great man. I can see where you're coming from with Simpson, so it's great to see the other guys get in.

Hopefully knight is able to see this message. If you remember me Knight, I hope I don't sound nit picky like a few years ago. LOL

Yeah, very true. I had never seen him before and was with another die hard Cubs fan. We were pointing out players left and right. I was like, lets head over to the rookie/youth field and see Simpson. Found his number and I saw him and was like in shock. He really looks like a 14 year old kid. Saw him pitch and sort of jokingly asked my buddy, "why did we draft this kid, and did he forge his birth certificate?"

On the Braves, Jonny Venters is widely considered to have one of the best, most unhittable pitches in baseball, in his Sinker(being like the only lefty utilizing a sinker, its hard for batters to pick up and hit) and yet he doesn't even have a sinker.
Plate Discipline factors into walks, plate vision factors into strike outs.

How do you have the OS roster become the default roster?

# 460 bdhill78 @ 04/06/12 03:49 AM
You can't. The default is always the original roster set that came with the game. Not a biggie though. Just don't forget to load your OSFM roster before you edit anybody, or you'll be a little annoyed by all the time and effort gone to waste!
