My team is going to be completely old timey. With curly mustaches, high socks, and classic batting stances/pitcher deliveries. Can't wait to see what I can come up with in regards to uniforms and logos.

I have to admit I didn't care for DD when the first bit of details came out. It sounded too much like HUT or MUT to me.
But hearing that we have to develop our own random dynasty players has me very intrigued.
I love RTTS modes as well as Dynasty modes. It sounds like this kind of combines the two?

Very cool.

I'm glad you have opened up to this now....
It really looks like an interesting mode from what little we saw.

I know there are elements that are similar to other build a team modes....but that's impossible to not have in some senses....but there are a lot of unique features to DD as well.

I hope to see a lot of OS members on the leaderboards!

I can't wait to see what others will come up with. That's the beauty of opening up the customization of a game; you get to see a lot of what people can do with their imaginations. Based on what I have seen with the options, I'm going old school too with my uniforms and players (those that aren't current MLB players that is). However, one game I might play against a guy with wacked out jerseys and colors, the next game could be against another totally conservative team, and the next game might involve playing a "created" Murder's Row team. I'm still cautious about how customizable it will be, but I think we're all in for a treat.

I know this may sound dumb, but one of the things I like about it is it's not so $$$-driven.
In MUT and HUT, they really pimp the micro-transactions.
But from the small info I've seen on DD, it seems that $$ isn't necessarily the way you should be building your Dynasty. It'll take time and effort and proper management, not how many credit cards you got from Mommy.

Dangit. Now I'm gonna have to buy a PS3 again. ARGH!

Bronze, Gold or Platinum. 6 cards per pack, mix of pitchers and position.

I'm guessing there would have to be some sort of minimum amount of games played or AB's/IP's....to qualify.
Remains to be seen.

MLB Players have 10 games of use your dynasty players range from 30-40. However Nick just made a really nice change to the system to give it more strategy. I won't spoil it going to let him tell you all about in the DD blog.

When I left, we had:

6 pack Dynasty (mix of positions)
6 pack Dynasty Pitchers
6 pack Dynasty Pos Players
15 pack Dynasty (mix of positions)

6 pack MLB (mix of positions)
6 pack MLB Pitchers
6 pack MLB Pos Players
15 pack MLB (mix of positions)

All packs have a varying quality of players (with some guarantees to make the packs equal). You can not PAY for quality. You must foster it, trade for it, or get LUCKY!

I butchered that question. Thanks for clearing it up.

So do players age??
Or are they locked in to ages?

Because if they can show up again, then how many times?

My understanding is the "seasons" aren't traditional, so how does the "aging process" work, if at all??

There is no concept of age as you and I know it in real life. All the players have a game limit MLB players have a 10 game limit. Dynasty players have anywhere from a 30-45 game limit.

If you end up with a D.Price card that has 10 games on it. If he pitches a game he now has 9 games left......................................

That's how I perfectly understood it before (nemesis04) said that they reappear in card form...??

So, Nem, what was meant when you said they reappear?

Meaning that player does not disappear forever in the mode. He could show up again in a pack of cards in card form again.

What about when they "retire?"

I'm sorry, this just isn't clicking for me...
I took it as they retire once their games are used up. So, once their games are up, they can keep reappearing multiple times until they are "retired?"

If that's the case, what causes the retirement?

Thanks for the responses by the way!

# 238 EnigmaNemesis @ 02/13/12 07:22 PM
Nemesis is referring to MLB players. Not the generated "Dynasty" players in which we can rename and customize I believe.

Meaning you have a chance to get another D. Price again.

MLB players are basically high priced, good attributed, already developed rentals.

I think you are looking it at as the player, when nemesis is referring to the cards. In other words, you get a MLB player card and can use him 10 times (or whatever the limit is) and that's it. However, that player could later show up separately in a different pack and could the be used separately 10 times.

Essentially, having the player come back up isn't the same player in actuality, but a duplicate (like in a real collection of cards where you might have two of the same). They are the same player being represented, but different in terms of use. At least, that's what I'm getting from it. Hope that makes sense.

# 240 treyraq @ 02/13/12 07:28 PM
Alright cool...so I guess the generated players retire, and MLB players reappear randomly.

(Right?)

Thanks guys
