That is what I was trying to say. It looked good to me too. The original poster made it sound like the ball should be slicing on a hit like that. He must have never played the game of baseball before.

I don't think you were supposed let the cat out the bag about Ramone.

After playing The Show 11 today and then watching this video, it is insane how much of a difference the broadcast style camera cuts make in terms of presentation. It basically looks exactly like you're watching a game on television. The Show is going to be scary good in a few years. Hell, it already is, haha.

New equipment is on the radar every year. They added new ones already this year, (new cleats, batting gloves, batting gloves under fielding gloves, new rim styles on hats, new glasses, compression sleeves, catcher shins, etc).

Just add it to the wish list is all I can say for next year.
Don't forget wrist braces and the ability to wear glasses on your hat.

The trip is over. The changes made to gameplay this year - hot damn!

I really wanted to take a copy home with me.

Whoops - wrong thread.

Agreed. And this isn't hype.

They game plays so damn fluid now. It truly feels like Major League Baseball.

Well...

That's certainly NOT a Nemesis04 gameplay write-up, but...

I'm just kidding. I can't wait to hear your impressions, Pared. Even that one line you wrote has me practically hopping around like a 5 year old on Xmas eve!!!

Have a safe trip home fellas.

# 129 Pared @ 01/20/12 12:36 AM
Ha - to be fair, I give you my impressions but I don't do the whole detailed write up thing often. Just know the devs. Killed it this year and a few discussions really did lead to changes that many are going to love. If you've been here long enough you know I love my gameplay!

I don't think I have ever left the studio this excited by what was done.

Again - wrong thread.

Yes, I must say... I do feel a bit rediculous being 20 years old and being so excited about a video game. But I can't help it. I love baseball and The Show IS baseball to a tee.

Getting kind of off topic, but this is why I love baseball so much. It just sticks with you from the time you're in Little League until you're an old man. Greatest sport on earth.

You don't need to worry about things like the 2010 stats being on display. I can almost guarentee you that this was only the case because the video isn't of the final build of the game. Also, by the sound of things, this new ball physics deal is going to make The Show 12 unlike any baseball game ever put out.

I can see where you're coming from though. At a glance things seem pretty similar. But look closer and I think you'll see some nice changes.

I think alot of people are missing the point of the commentary complaints. We realize that there are only so many lines they can put in and that there are only so many ways to call a groundout etc...and yes they will get repetitive and old, but it's the way they are presented. All 3 announcers don't sound like their sitting next to each other, there really is no fluidity to the comments. This is the only area that MLB 2k was better than the Show IMO.

I'm not even going to reveal my age, aside from the fact I took a week off of work to fly out to Sony SD, lol.

I've hit plenty of balls over 3rd base that have done the exact same thing in '11. Same hops, same fielding motions, same throwing motions. And on top of everything little that can be analyzed, they still show 2010 stat lines for the players at bat under their game batting line. And on the foul ball hit into the stands, the camera pans exactly the same as it did in '11. Not following the ball. Focusing on where it's gonna land, and looking like they stopped the video short of showing the camera focusing through the crowd to nothing. When I can play it, I'll make my own impression. Until then, all I see is '11.
Alot of this stuff is placeholders. I haven't watched this video, but I can guarantee that the builds we were playing had tons of hits, animations, camera cuts, throws, and even catches that have never been seen before.

As for the stats, again that's just placeholder stuff. I'll let you in on a nice stat display tidbit... not only will you see a players 2011 stats, but you will sometimes see their minor league stats pop-up.

I'm 44 and anxiously awaiting this game, so you shouldn't feel ridiculous at all! I have been playing baseball since the atari 2600 so to finally have a great baseball game like this is unbelievable! I love baseball and this is the only game I look forward to coming out each year. I bought a PS3 back in '09 just to be able to play The Show!

No, no one is missing any points. We've discussed all this and actually know more than you think we do about how this should be presented.

The problem is you are taking a small sample of the game and dissecting it as if it is the entire thing. Take a 4 minute video from Game 6 of the WS at different points and tell me they both can accurately represent how great that game was.

You are taking one point and beating it to death. Take a deep breath an relax - if this game doesn't offer you what you are looking for there are alternatives you are more than welcome to play. No one will stop you.

Yes. You can see that I mentioned that I am a self-expert on the show several times in my post. And I'm sorry. You're right. They'll probably decide to leave the 2010 stats on for MLB 12 since they've done that in the past. I apologize.

Bingo!

Ball changes spin (that you can actually see the seams and spin), direction, trajectory, etc. All physics based. It is truly remarkable. And never done to this detail in a baseball game before.
