A lot of the glitches seem to have been ironed out, with the exception of the fake pass button still passing the ball on occasion. Improvements made in some areas, like the speed of passes. That hitch before a chasedown block seems to be gone. Still seeing players slide, warps, psychic defense and all that, but no one expected any changes to the game engine. It's outdated and troublesome, but it is what it is.
Outside of that, I had asked about player speed last night and can confirm myself now that everyone on the court still sprints at the exact same speed regardless of ratings. This a dealbreaker for me in terms of gameplay. It seems like something 2K can fix with roster updates, but then they'd have to address all kinds of ratings issues that skew the balance of the game and I'm not holding my breath.
TL;DR: This patch has some important fixes but only gets us to about 2/3 of a final build. Looking forward to starting my association after 1.05.
Just finished the first quarter on Hall of Fame/Default, everything on. I'm playing as the Suns versus the Cavs. The cheapness from the CPU is definitely gone. They finally play within themselves and not above themselves. If you play defense and get a hand up, it will affect their shot success -- finally!
Here are the stats from the first quarter (I play 12 mins quarters)
Score
Cavs - 25 Suns - 24
Cavs - 11/23 (47%) from the field Suns 9/20 (45%) from the field
Cavs - 0/3 from 3 Suns 2/7 (28%) from 3
Cavs - 3/6 from free throws Suns - 4/4 from free throws
Cavs - 5 assists Suns - 4 assists
Both teams have 2 turnovers apiece.
The Cavs have 12 total rebounds. The Suns have 8 total rebounds.
The Cavs have 2 steals. The Suns have 1 steal.
The Cavs don't have any blocks. The Suns have 3 blocks.
The Cavs have 18 points in the paint. The Suns have 14.
The only negative I have, like I said before, is the lack of speed in the open court. If they can fix that through rosters or a small patch, this game would probably hold up well until 2K13.
I haven't played a third quarter yet, so I don't know if the scripted comebacks have been eliminated. If so, Hall of Fame is definitely a legitimate difficulty setting again.
EDIT: I would recommend tuning the quickness slider to your liking. At default, the players move a little too quickly.
It's not a bug. A bug would be if you were on a fast break and your player fell through the floor. With the increased passing velocity it seems fast break catchup has been improved
How is it not a but if your getting inaccurate stats every time.
Can someone be so kindly to check if association rotation minutes have been improved. You know most players average 34 minutes and under. Also if you can edit age. Thanks
I'm hoping that the whole "we can't change jersey's online" thing is because the season hasn't started yet. Hopefully once the season starts this will be unlocked (can this be done with a roster update ??......probably not....lol). If not...I know it's just a minor cosmetic thing but it really does kinda stink that we cant even select a 3rd/alternate jersey.
Has anyone tried a new online association with the 1.04 patch. Are there any more options for the Admin or is it still limited like before.
I didn't touch online association before the patch because I heard so many bad things about it. Give me an idea of what options were available before, and I can tell you if any new options were added. If you're looking for slider options, they're still not there. The only options I see are the standard difficulty setting, quarter length, games, and playoff format.
defenders tip fewer inside passes now...sometimes it's just because they can't get to it, which is good...other times the ball just whizzes right by them like in 2k11...it's a decent balance though...it's harder to pass inside than it was in 2k11, but much easier than it was pre-patch...some will say it allows too many lead passes to cutters, but i'd rather have it a bit too easy than way too hard.
Not a bad thing, this does happen in real basketball games sometimes.
Played a couple more games last night, first game was against the Knicks I was able to dominate, Tony Douglas took alot of shots like he does in real life misses alot as well. I then played the Bulls to see if I could duplicate the first result, and NO, the Bulls were better defensively and did not give me space to hit the open J, they out rebounded me and got alot of second chance points. I then played the Magic a team that was for me impossible to beat post patch because they hit every contest 3 and Dwight played like The Dream, and they still beat me but it was a close game they got open by using alot of screens, Howard was a beast setting screens and cutting to the basket, it was a good game had a 1 point lead going into the 4th but they pulled away after Rondo got in foul trouble and had to sit in the 4th.

Just wanted to see if there was slider options, ability to reset games, and option to not have the timer advancing which was causing games on the schedule to be simmed.
You still can't adjust difficulty or speed for quick matches. I wish you could because online moves like a crackhead LOL.
I know you said that there were more fouls but have you seen more fhard oul and contact animations going to the hole..also is the defender riding the hip animation back?..Would love to see that..
