Like the NFL 2K series and the MVP Baseball series from EA Sports, the College Hoops series is a defunct series that sports gamers have been missing since the legendary College Hoops 2K8. With all of the improvements to NBA 2K since CH 2K8’s release in 2007, fans can only envision what the team at 2K could do with the series now. What if 2K was releasing College Hoops 2K12? Here’s what the OS review might look like.

College Hoops 2k8 is STILL the best basketball game ever made. I'm still here waiting for the next chapter. I urge the 2ksports again to bring to market the CH series. Also for the European market, it would sell millions of copies. In Europe, college basketball is most popular than the NBA. College Hoops 2k8 is only for U.S. consoles. Please 2KSports made CH2K12 also in PAL version for the european consolles

As much as i want them to release another version this post is just nonsense.
Millions of copies....er i don't think so.
If you live in Europe you have to go out of your way to follow Choops(subscribing to a pay channel to see it) and trying to keep up with all the different amount of schools is damn near overwhelming unless you really make it your business to.
Honestly I think if they sold 10,000 copies over here they would be doing well.

WTF OS? Why keep toying with 2K fans' heartstrings like this? First an opening spread featuring APF2K8 a couple days back and now this CH2K12 mock b.s. Quit lighting fires and getting people's hopes up for nothing.

Haha, this def perked me up this morning when I saw "College Hoops 2K12" and the screencap on the front page. Not nice, OS.

This game would be so amazing right now. I'd be running my usual UConn marathon legacy and probably would be rebuilding Indiana too in another legacy.

The worst part is that with the huge enhancements to the playbooks and floor spacing in 2K11-12 the low and mid-majors would be SO much more enjoyable to use than they are in 2K8. I'd give the closed legacy feature much more time than I ever did in 2K8.

This game would be a classic

Whoever put together the "One Shining Moment" games did a terrible job. I could think of a better list in a minute.

Since 2k prepared for lockout with more legendary teams, should noticed all of the top talent there is in college this year. Drafting stars into pros would have been ideal.

I agree that College Hoops 2K8 is still the best 2K basketball game.

Legacy mode remains the best offline franchise mode in any sports game.

Presentation and atmosphere is top-notch.

Gameplay isn't bogged down by all the excessive animations and isomotion controls that later 2K games introduced.

Cramped floor spacing and a poor play-calling system are the only sore spots.

Cruel. Harsh. Totally uncalled for. I'm gonna go cry in a dark corner by myself.

I wish 2K8 resembled NBA 2K11 with regard to fluid player movements and floor spacing. Players are a bit "stiff" in their movements, and the shooting animations get a bit stale after time. A great game, and it's a shame there is no updated college hoops option to play. Maybe with the NBA lockout there would be a renewed interest in a college basketball video game, but with a lack of star power (as there was years ago) I don't think the game could market itself well enough. There were more stars in the Big East Conference alone (for example) in the 1980's than the ENTIRE NCAA has today...

I remember when CH2K8 was first out, and march madness was out as well. I remember playing MM 2008 because a friend had gotten it, and it was my worst video game experience ever. CH2K8 was the best college baskeball game of all time though.

Point being. I was working at wal-mart as a cashier at the time, and a little boy with his mom came to my line and brought up MM 2008 because he wanted a college basketball game (first one ever for him) and I respectfully told her that that game is terrible, and if she really wants to give her son a good experience, she should buy the other basketball game, plus it was cheaper. She did...I like to think that I changed that kids life forever.

Truth. So much truth.

If 2K ever does another college basketball game, it MUST have classic teams just like NBA 2K11 and 2K12 has classic NBA teams.

Exactly. EA has exclusive rights to NCAA Football- not basketball. 2K has constantly addressed this issue to the media; the NCAA licensing fees are too damn high, making the production of a NCAA Basketball game not worth the hassle or profit. 2K explained this to the NCAA but they weren't trying to hear it. So College Hoops got canned. =(:::::: I used to play College Hoops 2K7 way more than NBA2K7, and they were both great games.

I'd pay $90 for this game easily...furthermore, although I'd like to see improvements. If they gave me NBA 2k12 gameplay with CH2k8 dynasty mode with updated uniforms, I'd be a happy camper. Let the community worry about the rosters.

Great Topic and article!!!!!...now, send it to the Higher Ups @ 2k!!

LOL. Thanks for giving us false hope...2k really needs to start making college hoops again!

# 99 hotti7 @ 11/20/11 10:53 AM
WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO TO GET THIS GAME BACK!!! lol Man i miss this game!

# 100 HustlinOwl @ 11/20/11 11:54 AM
never understood why we could not just get a roster update from 2k every year via 2kshare and ability to use the rosters online. With everything being fully editable dont really see any way to get sued for player likeness
