^ Looks like you just recently joined (September 2011). I'd cool it with the "ignorant" references and comments. That's not cool.

if you disagree to posts made in this forums you always call them ignorant posts. yall want people to agree to what you believe in. youre the one who dont make sense.

96 bulls are the greatest because aside from having the greatest player to ever play they play smarter basketball than the rest of the other great teams. and when they (bulls with jordan) get to the finals they just wont lose.

I honestly dont care for this discussion but im warning everyone in here right now, that if you cannot make your point without degrading other people's opinions and continually referencing them as being ignorant because they dont agree with you, then you will be taking a long break from the forums

Not a break, not a vacation - the exit door - permanently.

very good commercial, but think it would have been nice if after he mentioned his favorite the 96 Bulls they showed them in the game and then a few other teams and then show him say you decide. Nice touch though 2k..those 96 Bulls would be tough to handle, especially in a 7 game series

I believe in my own two eyes, and I never saw MJ lose a Finals series. I think he would go down guns blazing if it went to a game 7, willing his team to a victory.

Now, as far as the league being "watered down" in 1995-96: you can't help who you play. The Bulls played 82 regular season games and won 72 of them--72! They received the schedule from the NBA and then proceeded to whoop butt.

For those who disagree, look at it this way: I BLEED Tar Heel blue, and although I hate that Duke won in 2010, I take absolutely nothing away from them. Duke by far had the EASIEST road to the Final Four I've seen in quite sometime, but it's like I said before--you can't help who you play. Duke beat everyone in front of them, much like the Bulls of 1996.
That last sentence is good and all, but heres the kicker....do you conisder the 2010 Duke Blue Devils to be on of the Top 3 greatest teams ever, just like the consensus here about the '95-'96 Bulls...???

Nice article, disagree with somethings but mostly I agree.

1995-96 Bulls, not the best team ever IMO, record don't mean all that when you put them against all time great teams, sorry MJ! If we're going by accomplishments then the Bill Russell's Celtics are the best and I don't think they're the best either.
Just can't see them winning against the 80's Celtics and Lakers, maybe not even the 00's Lakers, in a seven game series, but hey, who knows right?

# 90 MotorTown354 @ 09/10/11 12:28 AM
BTW, cool commercial!

Pretty good read and agree with most of it but I think he should quit while he was ahead, a lot of his Scottie Pippen was overrated as a Bull stuff contradicts his the 91-92 Bulls were better because Scottie was better.

This is going to be a long debate for sure.
Wouldn't it be better if there's a poll where we can pick the team of our choice and somehow "end" this unending debate?

People:

The game of basketball is about one thing: Match-Ups. Ive scanned most all the posts, but i havent seen the ONE team that I believe was the best -- 2000-2001 LA Lakers. Let me preface, i am by NO means a Laker fan, but this team would be the most dangerous team to ever walk-up against in a fantasy, greatest team ever tourney. Comparing the regular seasons, the Bulls, BY FAR were the better regular season team (56wins LA to 72wins CHI). Will say this though, Shaq missed 8 regular season games and Kobe missed 14. The playoffs is where the Lakers have the edge over the Bulls. I can hear you guys now, "Bulls only lost two more game than the Lakers!" Here's the kicker, look at the 3 teams the Lakers SWEPT to get to the Finals. Just go look at the rosters (crazy good teams). To finalize this debate, the biggest difference maker (it pains me to say) is Shaquille O'Neal. In the 2000-2001 playoffs, he AVERAGED 31ppg 15rbg and shot 55%. The 95-96 Bulls had NO ONE that could match Shaq when he wanted to actually try hard and play. In the '01 Playoffs, he wanted to play. Oh yea, and the 00-01 Lakers also had the best all-around player in the league, Kobe Bryant. In the 00-01 playoffs, he AVERAGED 29ppg 7reb and 6ast..............Now, lets go back to my original argument: MATCH-UPS

Each position will be discussed and assigned 1pt for each winner
PG
CHI - Ron Harper (0pt)
LAL - Ron Harper (0pt)
*Edge: PUSH -- Harper was more athletic with Bulls, but a better shooter/role player with the Lakers

SG
CHI - Michael Jordan (.5pt)
LAL - Kobe Bryant
*Edge: Jordan by a smaller margin the many would believe. Kobe i dont believe could guard Jordan because Jordan would use his new found post moves on Bryant and eat him up all day down low. On the other hand, Jordan would be just a step to slow to guard the 22yr old Bryant. Jordan gets the Edge cause of his guile and basketball wisdom.

SF
CHI - Scottie Pippen (1pt)
LAL - Rick Fox
*Edge: Also closer than you may think, but not like SG. Pippen is the more talented player, by far, BUT he would have ALOT more assignments and responsibilites in the fantasy match-up. Pippen would be the Bulls #2 scorer, ball-handler, post double teamer, etc... Fox would only have to worry about two things. 1) Playing lock down "D" (which he was better than most remember) and 2) hitting the open 3's.

PF
CHI - Dennis Rodman (.5pt)
LAL - Horace Grant
*Edge: Goes the Rodman by a hair. Grant would be determined to perform to his best to show CHI what they could have had all those years, but it still wouldnt be enough. Rodman would be too energetic and still plays pretty good "D" in his aging 34yr old body.

C
CHI - Luc Longley
LAL - Shaquille O'Neal (2pt)
*Edge: Really?!? Like i stated earlier, when Shaq wants to play, (and he did in 00-01) no one could have ever stopped him. He was just too big, quick, and smart (no..really!). Shaq would average 40 and 17 versus this 95-96 Bulls team, easy. AND, if they doubled him, he could pass it out to Kobe, Brain Shaw, Derek Fisher or.............the X-FACTOR..........

Robert Horry. I know it sounds weird, but he is the reason the 00-01 Lakers would overcome the 95-96 Bulls. Yes, he was "older" but the dude was still only 30 and still had most all of his athletic weapons plus, the most ice-cold veins in NBA history.

THOUGHTS???????

For a second I thought he was going to talk about someone other then himself. I'll pretend like it's all about team than I'll mention all the teams that I was on and flash my rings, I am Michael Jordan the Greatest of All Time.... smug bastard.

never meant that in a derogatory way, just saying that it sounds like he didn't know what he was talking about, nothing more, nothing personal, just a debate

1. I'm pretty sure 44% was pretty solid for his time.
2. He wasn't an offensive player. He was a defensive god. I remember reading that if they had kept track of blocks, he might have averaged over 10 per game.
