Maybe they focused more on making their other games in development. Like Auto Club Revolution.

Haven't played the game with the patch yet, but from what I'm hearing about offline gameplay over at the Eutechnyx forums is that its fixed. That's fine by me, I don't really like playing games online.

This company is embarrassing and logically if NASCAR knows about their level of development, they would chop them so fast. It makes the sport look bad which NASCAR clearly would not want. Poor team all the way around. They can't handle the reins of their own game which is just so odd, immature, unprofessional, etc. Defaces the sport in many ways considering this product is nationwide. They clearly have a complete lack of knowledge and development power. I mean people are passionate about their sports and this unprofessional game developer has absolutely no class for an American sport and is an embarrassment. This is a big sport in America so obviously this is a big responsibilty and Eutechnyx can't handle that. This isn't like Ea sports (or any developer for that matter) where they may not have had the paint schemes you wanted, or the game modes, features, etc. This is a problem in the base of the game, servers, Eutechnyx if you want to get to the core. I haven't experienced anything like this is a game ever before. It's embarrassing, the fact they are making another game is embarrassing. I will not be buying it in 2012 or whatever they are doing cause they do not have a handle on it and it's embarrassing, and as a fan of NASCAR I would love if they were rooted out.

I finally got a chance to play it post patch.....
spent most of my free time redoing my career car
since the Headlights and tail lights are now pre done.
I started a career and found right off the bat offline play is
much much better.
no more stupid spotter talking about eating shrimp.....
he's only heard from when needed now.
cautions much more realistic.....got halfway through Dayton when 1st caution
came out (Kyle Busch spinning out in the grass).
When that happened I pitted as did some other cars. But 2 laps after the caution
like 20 cars pit????? which moved me way up to around 14th......
anyway with about 6 laps to go.....
It's not Daytona without Ryan Newman flying through the air..........
he gets cut of by Logano and flips his car....I was laughing so hard....poor Newman.
I pit to get gas....and no one in front of me does????
I had like enough gas for 6 laps but wanted tires.........
Guess what...... it was wreck fiesta after that...... did 3 tries for GWC
on the third I was up in the top 10 and rounding the last turn before the pits and everyone
in front of me pits????? right before the finish!!!???
I win Daytona....this game must still be broke cause that shouldn't happen....I stink at
racing games.
Overall it's much better for offline, cars stay to the track better, AI more arresive without being stupid....(I was able to lock on a bumper and now see it turn red as I push, I actually was locked on no spinning out and no CPU acting like a fool when trying to draft).
Overall was a lot more fun......
couple questions..... I thought they were supposed to have new cars or updates to the cars for current paint schemes????? how do we get them if they are there????
also when unlocking painitschemes why are the car numbers missing from the cars????
can they be added so you can actually use what you unlocked???
thanks and happy racing.

On the 360, the Patch and DLC are seperate. When its available, you'll have to pay 160 MS Points to get it. On PS3, the patch and DLC are one download.

The one thing I miss big time from Nascar 09 is the paint shop and being able to import player car skins. I miss having my # 7 Hooters Ford.
On track I think the intensity of the racing is pretty good vs 09 (especially once the field spreads out a little)
I think there is some funky stuff still going on with AI pitting as others have posted and you can still dive bomb on the 1.5 mile ovals coming out of 4 that cheapens it some unless your disciplined enough to run realistic lines.
I will say I'm running 20 to 40 lap races to avoid some the the pitting nonsense and I'm having better races more consistently than I did in 09.
There is no doubt the game looks fantastic graphically lots of little details that I like and once we get the add on Tuesday we will be in business offline.

I'm loving the new patch, I thought I had a problem with the game putting me in the starting posistion after a wreck, but then I realized it was because all the other cars were pitting (besides me) and the game didn't tell me. If the game would tell you who pitted before a restart and maybe even show all the cars pitting, even if you go around it would be great.
The only other thing I wish it had was different difficulties for qualifying and for the race itself, I like being able to qualify in the top 10 but medium makes the race seem to easy.

I still have not bought the game. Waiting to hear more results of this 2nd patch since I will only play offline.
There seems to be a few minor issues and then 2 major flaws. The first is the cars slowing down in turns or straightaways. If it's just a few mph then maybe it's not so bad. However if they are slowing down too much then it ruins gameplay.
The other one is the pitting strategy by the AI. I see plenty of people saying the AI will not pit on caution, then do it 1-2 laps after under green. Even one person saying the last lap, I think after a caution.
Has anyone tried a longer race to see what happens. I like to run shorter ones to get a season done for the first try, but might move up to full length races if I enjoy the game and it works. Maybe the AI has better strategy when it's a full race or longer then the ones tried so far.

I ran out of gas coming down the front stetch at Daytona.. I was in like 6th at the time, could have rolled to the finish and still probably gotten a top 15 or 20... but it automatically put me in the pits and had me finish last..... that sucked.

For me, it's a keep. The DLC tomorrow will spruce it up a little more w/new schemes/cars, and the night Charlotte track, etc. However, my overall score for it (NOT factoring online) is barely a 7. It's a good start, but it needs a lot more. I do like the graphics fine, cars run smooth, AI can be decent, tracks look great and they all race different. And I also like that Eutech seems to really give a damn and are trying. I'm hopeful for NTG12.
Too skimpy on the career mode, too limited on the paint booth (though I'm actually pretty happy with my created cars, I'm too limited by the tools to make more ambitious designs).
If we factor in online, it'd be a 6.5. Online is still too fussy in the lobbies with connections so there's lots of booting pre-race...very hard to get a race going. In-race, there's still some crazy loose things going on and some 'bubble' issues with collision detection. The racing itself when you get in to a race isn't bad, though, but it's harder to keep your car on the track and off other racers than it should be, just IMO. They really need to do a beta test online for NTG12 to get the online sorted prior to shipping.

Honestly, I've been playing the crap out of Nascar Thunder 2004 on my old Xbox while I've been waiting for the patch for NTG11 lol. It's been great, great fun with a perfect level of challenge. I'd rank NT04 as the best overall NASCAR game I've ever played (yes, I owned NR2003 and it's amazing, but NT04 is much more fleshed out).

I hope Dave and company learn from this and realize people just want a solid game that plays well both online and off. Leave the Super Fight Hype Machine for boxing and stick to Nascar. Besides, Nascar fans in general are a different breed. No nonsense, get to the point, deliver on what you say type of personalities. They don't take well to those who mislead on so many different levels.

I know someone is going to come and ask this, so I will just get it out there right now. After you download the DLC content, you have to restart your career mode, for the content to be available.
So guys, I'll ask, For someone like me that has never played the game, is it now worth picking up? I'm interested in single player career mode mostly, or should I just wait for the next game?
Thanks
EDIT: Nevermind, after reading the complaints over at the NCTG forums it seems this game is going head to head with MX vs ATV Alive for worst racing game of the year. I'm staying away.
