So how does offline post-patch now compare with Nascar 08/09 offline? Any thoughts?

The one thing I miss big time from Nascar 09 is the paint shop and being able to import player car skins. I miss having my # 7 Hooters Ford.

On track I think the intensity of the racing is pretty good vs 09 (especially once the field spreads out a little)

I think there is some funky stuff still going on with AI pitting as others have posted and you can still dive bomb on the 1.5 mile ovals coming out of 4 that cheapens it some unless your disciplined enough to run realistic lines.

I will say I'm running 20 to 40 lap races to avoid some the the pitting nonsense and I'm having better races more consistently than I did in 09.

There is no doubt the game looks fantastic graphically lots of little details that I like and once we get the add on Tuesday we will be in business offline.

I'm loving the new patch, I thought I had a problem with the game putting me in the starting posistion after a wreck, but then I realized it was because all the other cars were pitting (besides me) and the game didn't tell me. If the game would tell you who pitted before a restart and maybe even show all the cars pitting, even if you go around it would be great.

The only other thing I wish it had was different difficulties for qualifying and for the race itself, I like being able to qualify in the top 10 but medium makes the race seem to easy.

I still have not bought the game. Waiting to hear more results of this 2nd patch since I will only play offline.

There seems to be a few minor issues and then 2 major flaws. The first is the cars slowing down in turns or straightaways. If it's just a few mph then maybe it's not so bad. However if they are slowing down too much then it ruins gameplay.

The other one is the pitting strategy by the AI. I see plenty of people saying the AI will not pit on caution, then do it 1-2 laps after under green. Even one person saying the last lap, I think after a caution.

Has anyone tried a longer race to see what happens. I like to run shorter ones to get a season done for the first try, but might move up to full length races if I enjoy the game and it works. Maybe the AI has better strategy when it's a full race or longer then the ones tried so far.

They clearly have a complete lack of knowledge and development power. I mean people are passionate about their sports and this unprofessional game developer has absolutely no class for an American sport and is an embarrassment. This is a big sport in America so obviously this is a big responsibilty and Eutechnyx can't handle that. This isn't like Ea sports (or any developer for that matter) where they may not have had the paint schemes you wanted, or the game modes, features, etc. This is a problem in the base of the game, servers, Eutechnyx if you want to get to the core. I haven't experienced anything like this is a game ever before. It's embarrassing, the fact they are making another game is embarrassing. I will not be buying it in 2012 or whatever they are doing cause they do not have a handle on it and it's embarrassing, and as a fan of NASCAR I would love if they were rooted out.
I could not agree more..I wish codemaster would make a nascar game.Eutech dont have a exclusion license so maybe it will happen.

Yes cars slow down to where you can pass 10 at a time on the hardest level, its not just a car that slows its 10-12 cars in a pack that slows.I was trying charlotte last night and went from last to first in 10 laps, hardest level no asst. And I promise you its not because im that good..the ai cars are just out there going around with no purpose..very dumb ai...there more like jam cars than race cars...and they are just ad dumb with there pit / caution logic.
