It amazes me how much terrible information some of you guys get from such a short video. The video is so short that unless they only showed all completely new stuff of course it is going to look like last years madden.
Maybe they should of showed some NHL footage instead. Then you guys we be like AWESOME it does not look like Madden 11.
Also any of you that think you can judge stuff like grass and lighting from that video are completely ridiculous. Even at the highest video setting the quality of that video is so terrible that of course the grass and lighting is not going to look good.
nice vid the intro was cool but lol why did VIc first run out the tunnel with the team only to come out of the tunnel again at the end to be introduced!
That extended video is horrible in quality lol. I'll wait until tomorrow.
Well ya the video is choppy and all. But if you look at the gameplay part of it. You can see that the oline is forming the pocket a little better this year compared to madden 11. But I'm this is like on rookie or pro setting aswell. Plus you can tell the D is getting a little better push up front. Also Vick runs away from the pressure and gets out into the open. But again unsure wheather Vick was controlled by human player or the AI. But overall you can get a better sense of the gameplay from that facebook video. But tomorrow will give us a much better feel of gameplay.
ESPN said when they converted it, facebook converter messed it up.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! First play at :53, is that an engaged DE getting up field?!? How did I miss that in the other thread?
Oh shnap!
I hope that's not me seeing what I want to see. And I hope they implemented that for lateral movement on outside run plays so that engaged defenders can still flow towards the play.
After watching both this video and the NCAA videos, I'm really can't say much positive about the momentum/locomotion. Still looks like there's plenty of skating and some crazy acceleration/change of direction present. Will be interesting to see if 1 yard, 90 degree turns at full speed are in Madden 12 as they were in M11.
One video of NCAA and the tackling with momentum is much better. Don't know if you saw that one, yet.

Really how can they messed that up. Nice eye bro. You caught that misteak on the video. I really hope they fix that problem before going gold. That looks weird and awful. Please Madden team fix the intro part. Scenes of Vick coming out twice with the team looks plain awful.

i know man i know its small but its those details that make the game experience authentic. I hope they can make the adjustment
It's two steps forward and one step back with these clips. I liked the NCAA clip, then I saw some of the same improvements with the Madden teaser. Now, I see this, and the first thing I thought when I saw Vick scramble was " Man that's ugly!"
The animation looks horrible !
I'll need to take a look at that. BezO was excited because at the 53 sec mark because he saw an engaged rusher go outside and try to get at Vick. I thought I saw that too.
Could be that the framerate is clunky, according to Steve.
Can't tell a lot from a 15 second video, but definitely looking forward to seeing what's in store for gameplay tomorrow. I did enjoy what vick did after getting into the end zone.

Steveo on one of his post has put a link to facebook with a much better look at the presentation intro and gameplay. Trying looking at that video aswell to get a better look at the gameplay.
Few questions. Why do the players look like robots? How can Vick throw a perfect pass across the field when scrambling away from the route his receiver was running? Why is Vick so happy in his celebration when he scored the TD, was it the Super Bowl? Whats up with the bulging bodies...is this why Peyton Hillis is on the cover? EA...Madden will never be the same...will it.
I'm not sure if the player models have been touched or if I just haven't played Madden since December, but man they look awful. So huge and bulky. Vick looks like an offensive lineman. Thumbs down.

Yea the player models do look a little bigger then they should be. But with a few months before it goes gold. Hopefully they will tune this problem. They are still in Alpha part of the game right now. So everything is been tuned at this point. It's a wait and see game at this point.
Same here. Baby steps. Maybe what they're describing in the blog just hasn't been implemented fully... I hope.
I don't mind animation driven tackles if they go ham on the tackle animations to the point where they LOOK physic driven. But I still see defenders bouncing off of tackles. I still see those hugging tackles.
I'm not seeing any effort in ANY of the animations. No one looks like they're running hard, struggling, nothing. All of the animations look half-speed.
Unfortunately, I know exactly what you mean. That's the other part of the problem with their animations, besides choppiness and bad rendering. The animations themselves aren't done well.
They are under the mistaken impression that if they just speed the animations up, or if the animation covers a certain distance in a certain time, that it will look like they are running. It doesn't work that way. Regardless of how fast these animations are tuned to, they still all appear to be leisurely. It takes more than just making the bodies lean at a certain angle, and having the arms and legs pumping, to portray running. There is no fluidity. The animations look the same.
Jog? Have the legs and arms move, all while they are bent at almost 90 degree angles. Run? Have the arms and legs move exactly the same, but a little faster, and lean the torso to a 60 degree angle. Sprint? Have the arms and legs move exactly the same, but faster still, and lean the body at a 45 degree angle. Rinse... etc... etc. There is no interaction between all parts of the body. It's basically marionette arms and legs pumping paired with varying degrees of torso lean. There is no apparent interaction with the ground. No hint of gravity. It's all quite sterile and inhuman, which is passable on some games. Not so with a sim sports game.
This isn't relegated to just running. This philosophy extends to all aspects of their animations. None of them seem to be weighted in the real world. Most, not all, but most hits lack impact or oomph. It's like all of the animations are done separately and then added together at the end. Nothing looks like it is really interacting with anything. Not the parts of the body. Not the players and the ground. Not the players with each other either.
Madden is by far, the most bizarrely designed game I have ever laid eyes on.
for the record, I would rather the players look bigger than look scrawny and puny like they did in Madden 2010/11. They looked like stick figures. I am excited for Madden, and tomorrow should be a big day!
Loved the stadium aerial shot and the intro, that really adds to the realism.
