The simple facts that they added 3 things I've always wanted in the series, makes this one of my top buys of the year.

The Masters

DLC being used in season mode

In-game saves

Everything else at this point is pure gravy.

Great job EA!

Just reading through the news here. Any other word on Career Mode whether its geared only towards masters or is that just a piece of the puzzle.

Also, main reason I stopped buying was the fact that you could shoot 52 anyday of the week or the winning scores were always like 40 under. Has this been changed?

The only thing I'm waiting for out of this game is for them to have a multiplayer season for online play, or even multiplayer career mode. I buy the game to play against friends and just doing random course after random course gets old eventually.

I've been disappointed so many times with previous versions. Keep telling myself I'll never buy another one. I just don't have full confidence that the devs really love or even understand the game of golf. Every year there are parts of the game that are not just mediocre but really terrible - last year there was the lifeless commentary, badly implemented weather, wooden crowds, boring tournament atmosphere etc etc. But, that said, I'll certainly be paying attention as release day nears. Hope springs eternal...

One of the devs in the live stream in another post was talking about the "par 4 values" when talking about the yardages for the holes.

its called Road To The Masters, so i assume its geared toward winning it.
Whether or not u can continue after that is unsure.
It seems they r using the Masters as the backbone of the career mode, much like Ea did with Grand Slam Tennis, basing the career mode around the 4 majors only.

Tho i assume there will be more than just major events.

Will we be happy with a career mode that isnt boring like the past ones, but is more strealined? if in fact that is the case.

I see it being a mix of the two.

I haven't read this entire thread but moving the date up can't be a good thing. I really hope this game isn't riddles with bugs and glitches.

I could go on about how bad the ball spin is for another two pages.

The game of golf is all about the ball, and if you can't capture accurately how it actually flies through the air and reacts when it hits the ground, that's not good enough IMO, especially after all the years they've had to work on it.
- You can't be serious about the ball flight of 3 irons and 9 irons... The only thing that makes a 3 iron fly further than a 9 iron is the loft itself. I think the problem your explaining with ball physics has more to so with the ground. The greens are far too soft and so are the fairways in my opinion. They can be made fast but often times it's like the ball is rolling on a bed.

Don't forget the laughably cartoonish HUGE clubheads.

Work you way up the ladder from the EA tour, Amateur Tour, Nationwide Tour, Q-School, and the PGA Tour. If you're good enough you can even skip the Nationwide Tour.

Have you seen anywhere if we can start a career as any golfer or do we have to be ourselves again (sorry, didn't see it mentioned in the thread and didn't have time to click any of your links).

I get so tired of having to build my golfer from scratch (though it sounds that will at least be better this year).

I dont necessarily mind the idea of having to build my career up through the amateur ranks as much as I get annoyed with starting out my amateur/professional career hitting 200 yard drives.

I shouldn't be a better real life golfer than anyone who is competing in any event like that (regardless of the fact that it is just a video game).

Not yet, but I am hoping to be surprised.

This is all positive, no brainer purchasing this game. I wonder how many of the old golfers missed the cut? Monty, Dimarco etc.....

i honestly LOVED playing 360 with tru-aim - it felt very "sim" - even though i see what some of you are saying about ball flight (not that i agree, exactly - but i will say that the old Links games on original xbox just felt and looked more real) -

i am very much looking forward to this game -

Kinect will not be supported, I regret to say... http://www.examiner.com/console-gami...othing-to-hold

I'm giving in and buying a PS3 and a Move. I can't sit this year out without having access to the high-def, first person perspective, motion controller golf sim experience...
