And to whoever said it's not FIBA 2k11, that's pretty obvious. But that doesn't mean Eric Gordon is a different player internationally than when he's playing in the NBA.
Dirk made the all-nba second team in the 2009-2010 season...... But.....HE SUCK ON DEFENSE still....So.. 83 is just right for your Dirk Nowitzki... 2k has got it right

You do know the 3 point is closer in the FIBA than in the NBA. I think about 5-6 feet short.

I didnt read all of these but is DeMarcus Cousins really gonna come off the bench behind Dalembert, who is rated a 70.

This is not FIBA 2k11 its NBA 2k11. I don't care how good a player was at FIBA. The rules are different the talent is different. Also, the ratings aren't wrong especially when your best argument begins with "I feel like....."

Im sorry but all you guys saying that Brandon Jennings deserves at least an 80 are crazy. The guy scored 55 in his third game and did absolutely nothing afterwards. His Shooting Percentage sucks, his decision making sucks, he has a lot potential though but to say he deserves an 80 RIGHT NOW is blashphemy.

You guys do realize that players are rated on much more than their offensive and defensive skiils right? Athleticism, Basketball IQ are other things being rated in aswell

So Rondo I believe does deserve more than Rose. Sure Rose has the scoring and more athleticism over Rondo but Rondo's decision making, basketball IQ, passing skills and Defense are all much better than Derrick's at this point. Plus he has a ring.

For all those with the Dwight Howard and Tim Duncan comparisons .. c'mon. If you really know basketball - Tim 9even last season) is a better overall ball player than Dwight. Dwight's offensive awareness alone would suck down his average -- but his dunks and blocks are likely still 99. So you figure
Dwight 99 (dunks)+99 (blocks)+ 60 (offensive awareness) = 86 (rounded)
vs Tim 83 (dunks) + 87 (blocks) + 94 (offensive awareness) = 88
-------
Please dont obscure my point by focusing on the specific numbers .. just understand the logic.
Same goes with a lot of the other ratings .. your debates will still be there .. but understand that this is a critical factor when looking at differences of 1-2 points. Specialists will generally have lower overall numbers .. fyi. Dwight is a definitely a specialist if I ever saw one.
Young bucks on here .. keep reading man -- it'll get your bball IQ up. This stuff even helps on the real courts.

So that difference in distance makes Eric Gordon less of a player in the NBA? Ok, gotcha. That's a really good reason to downgrade a person. I guess that makes Steph Curry and Chauncey less good shooters too.

do people still think that kobe bryant is as good as lebron james?

that's so cute...

I'm going to copy and past a comparison I made on the 2ksports forums. This should give some perspective on the overall rating.

Quote:
My god Batum is only rated 69 and The Trail Blazers wouldnt trade Batum for Gibson and Deng.

However check this out. When I compare both Batum and Deng who has a 77 overall I cant say I would rather have Deng. Look at their individual ratings.

http://community.2ksports.com/commun...?l=558151&t=27

Batum has better three point shooting, layups, dunks, slightly better hndls and pass, better defensive stats all around, better speed, vert, quickness. Basically all Deng really has is strength, rebounding, and overall boosting do-nothing rating offensive awareness. Yes I would rather have the guy with the 69. Oden, Camby, and Aldridge can handle the rebounding. Give me three point shooting, dunking, and defense.

You see my point? The overall is just a number. Give me the guy with the 69 over the 77 if he has the ratings that matter.
The overall rating is just a player ranking tool
Thats not to say the individual ratings are good

My Pistons Look Str8 So Far I Wonder What They Rated Tracy Mcgrady, Charlie V, and Ben Gordon
The Lakers Lineup Looks Up To Par Hopefully Lamar Is In The Mid 80s I Dont Really Feed Into The Ratings That Much If The Players Play Like They Suppose To Im Fine With That BUT The Only Thing That Caught My Eye Is Tony Parkers Rating.....Damn

Only the worst player to ever don a Bulls uniform, but he's got a ring too.

agreed...theres definitely something not right about that. Wall's rating will be lowered immediately for me. That will be the first thing I do when I get my hands on the game. lol

So when you look at two players who are close in numbers .. ask yourself .. who more of a specialist? That person's number should likely be the lower of the two .. ala Rose and Rondo - Melo and Durant.
They kept Kobe, Wade and Lebron the same .. to keep these forums from exploding .. lol.

The ratings are position specific. I'm sure you'd agree Collison is a better PG than Thornton is at SG?

You guys do realize that Sjackson is playing at the 2 for Charlotte right? Each position rates players differently. You cant compare Sjack and Pierce because they are listed at different positions.

Now if you were comparing Melo and Pierce then that would be different, SJ is a SG on that breakdown and Pierce is a SF...if you change Sjack to a SF in the game Im pretty sure his rating wont be higher but these ratings are rating him as a 2
