2K Sent us the overall ratings for every player in each team's starting five. Give the list a look through and let us know what you think! Did 2K rate your team right? Any surprises? Let us know!
Yeah Marcus should at least be in the mid to low 70'S
For real, man.
Maybe it's cuz they have his D down low or something. Could be one of those deals where his offense is in the low 80s and his D is in the 50s, so it all averages out. Still, I don't think he's 11 whole points lower than Collison.
They're were pretty much what and what. Just Collison gets the recognition cuz he was taking over for CP3.
RATING GUIDE
95-99: Goats (Greatest of All-Time. Not the animal.)
90-94: Superstar (All-NBA First Team mainstays)
85-89: Perennial All-Star (All-NBA Second Team)
80-84: All-Star Caliber (possible All-Stars or even All-NBA Third Team)
75-79: Average NBA Starter (or Sixth Man of Year contenders)
70-74: Below Average Starter (or typical 6th/7th men)
65-69: Rotation Player (8th-10th men)
60-64: End of Bench (11th-15th men and most D-League callups)
55-59: Should not be in NBA (i.e. training camp invites w/ non-guaranteed deals)
50-54: Hopefully earned their college degree.
That scale is meaningless. We have all seen players with the 'right' individual ratings outperform players with much higher overalls. The offensive awareness rating alone can swing the overall 10 points or more and offensive awareness doesn't really do much unless you are siming.
I know these OVR ratings mean nothing and have no bearing on how the individuals play, but here's my quick assessment:
Too high: Evan Turner, Stephen Jackson, Blake Griffin, Rudy Gay, Dwyane Wade, Trevor Ariza, Deron Williams, Ron Artest, Jason Kidd, Kenyon Martin, Darren Collison, Tayshaun Prince, Shane Battier, Jeff Green, Andre Miller, Greg Oden, John Wall
Either the Minnesota Timberwolves want to lose as many games as they lost last season or there's an error with the starting five that excludes Michael Beasley.
Thats the scale from 2k.... Not me....So.. if you got problem with it, talk to Mike Wang
Actually that is not the scale from 2k. That's a scale that an Os member made, 2k never talked about any rating scale, and We cant talk to Mike because He wasnt with the 2k franchise when they implemented the new ratings last year.
Yr kidding right trevor ariza 79 what a joke he is not better then Luis scola 78 or as good as ray Allen kevin Martin and Aron Brooks 80 now I'm buying this game because it's amazing but the ratings are wack dirk only an 83 ? They need to fix these ratings and Y Ming an 80 are u s it lower because he was hurt don't get it if healthy he's the best offensive center in the NBA and top 5 in defense it's a joke
The ratings are position specific. I'm sure you'd agree Collison is a better PG than Thornton is at SG?
A bit better? Yes. Better by a whole tier? No.
Dude averaged near 20 points as a starter last year and shot 45%. Sure, it was 17 games, but this was all near the end of the season. I'm not sweating it much because if NBA Today 2.0 is more on point with updating ratings, that'll change soon enough. Especially with CP3 feeding him the rock.
Yet another title I'd like to see overall taken away.
Love the ratings, hate the overall rating!
Really all sports game at this point can dump overall rating and probably should. But I guess is so iconic in sport games they keep it. More trouble than it's worth in my opinion.
So what would we have instead of an overall rating? Just curious.
They could just post the letter grade ratings.
I agree with the guys saying overall rating really doesn't matter. Some catagories effect the overall a lot more than others (D and O awareness). So unless you go in and look at all the individual cat. ratings, you can't really say a guy's rating is off. And even then, it's a subjective thing.
