If it isn't negligence, then why does the game look worse on PS3 then ? Majority has said that.
That's not a 2K/VC-specific issue. I own both a 360 & PS3 and I know going in that many cross-platform games are developed with the 360 as the lead sku and may not look as good on one system as the other. Hell I thought that was common knowledge. You're reaching with trying to imply negligence.
so you're saying that i should wait until the full game comes out to mention anything? if there is a problem in the demo, it might be a problem in the full game as well...so I don't see anything wrong with someone mentioning a problem that exists in the demo.
all i said was: i wish big men would stay in the lane to defend off ball cutters rather than coming out to double the PG at the freethrow line, thus allowing their man to cut behind them for layups and dunks....
explain to me how is that not a valid complaint? i saw something in the game that I felt could be improved and I wrote about it...that's what impressions thread are for.
You're complaining about the difficulty of a demo...
I don't know how to explain something that is common sense to me. Am I alone here? You seem to be the only one harping on "issues" here when it is a DEMO.
Alrite for those that don't know, you foul out a player to get the bench player.
back/select button on 360, don't know for the ps3
here is the bench player you get for fouling out the player
Derek Fisher: steve blake
Kobe Bryant: shannon brown
Artest: matt barnes
Gasol: Lamar odom
Bynum:Lamar odom
Shannon Brown: Sasha vujic
imo the feel of the bench players ranged
odom and brown were the best while i felt that barnes and blake were the worst
odom's free throw has a very quick release
sasha was ok
blake could not get past by rondo when with the ball
barnes just didn't feel fluid
odom felt great, did a sizeup on perkins and got right past him
shannon brown had a couple of nice dunks and shots
also i saw shaq on the bench(thats probably already been said many times, it zoomed on his face

ok..i'll wait until the final game comes out and voice my concerns then.
Are you able to just run around the court and until you can dunk like in previous games?
I play online and this is the reason why ive never played a 2k in the last 3 years
Seriously getting tired of these "cliques" and bashing of other games. There's no sides people, that's not what this site is about. If you can't view things objectively without saying something else sucks or blows you're better off not posting.
Is there a way to get the demo file posted here, for me to save it in an usb and then translate it into the PS3 (ala custom/official rosters) ? ... If possible, then I will also need instructions on how to specifically doing it ... would be really appreciated.
Why ?
I havent played the demo and I was telling myself that it was ok not to play it so I wouldnt spoil the WOWness of the game ... but the truth is that I am not able to download it ...
Yes I have access to internet but due to me living in a third world country, my internet connection is extremly low (yet absurdly and unreasonable within moderm days technology and standards): 320 kbs download (when at its max speed) ...
Making an estimated guess, I forsee me having to spend over 8 straight hours to download the demo but with my country temperature being beyond 30 degrees and with my past experience (360), I dont want to run the risk of overheating the console and therefor damaging it.
My initial impression is extremely negative. After having 3 of the 4 passes I attempted to throw getting stolen when 2 of 3 were wide open (I think it was going towards the wrong player as well),Pierce just drives right into the lane and dunks on everyone like it's NBA Jam and then next time I get a stop despite the D STILL not properly rotating,Artest grabs a rebound and is immediately pushed out of bounds by Pau. I just turned the Xbox straight off.
2nd impression is that there aren't enough fouls, there needs to be some sort of walk button or something instead of them trying to sneak around like Sam Fisher when only lightly moving the stick and everything feels too fast/loose/slidey,feels like hockey, not basketball. I know 2K didn't make a hockey game this year, guess this is what they did with the ice. This time it was Kobe dunking on a bunch of people instead of Pierce. I'll wait until patch #1 and give it a rental cause I don't think this can be fixed entirely with sliders.
It's on PRO +default. If they would make only simulation, kids and casuals would never want to play their game. Was stated a few times already.
Anyone know if this year's PS3 version will have the option of having the in-game choice of music that the XBOX had or was it PC? I remember hearing about people talking about how they added more sounds and music to authenticate their NBA experience.
I'm thinking of picking up an XBOX to get Halo, but will most likely choose either the XBOX or PS3 version depending on whichever has the best options available.
after a few days with the demo, i have to say 2k11 is a masterpiece of human movement. every movement, from shooting, dunking, layups, jumping....each animation is completely realistic and correct for the situation and momentum of the player at the time...no unrealistic rocket dunks or awkward animations...it's all pretty much true to life.

When you put it in perspective and start comparing it not only to other sports games, but just games in general, you really realize how far ahead this game is from an animation standpoint. It truly animates as well or better than any game out there, and I've got all the triple A titles that could possibly challenge it for comparison: Uncharted 2, Assassins Creed 2...what else animates nearly as well? Can't think of many more. I'd put 2K11 ahead of those titles as well because of the dynamic nature of the sport it's duplicating.
The only other sports game that comes close from that "life like" standpoint is Fight Night Round 4, but we're talking about 2 guys punching each other in a ring vs. 10 players running, jumping and creating contact on a court. Not nearly as impressive a feat.
It's even more apparent after trying the Elite 11 demo today, what a difference it makes. Kudos to the entire 2K development team, hopefully they'll get the Sports Game of the Year award they deserve this year.
I haven't bought a 2K game since 2K8, which I LOVED. One of the things that stands out to me while playing the demo is that players seem to have their own animation packages. I noticed this when I was shooting a free throw with Bynum and watching Kobe in the background. He's in this loop where he is chewing his gum and wiping his hands on his jersey. This should probably go in the "The Little Things" thread, but it is these details that bring out the realism of the game.
