Its a wrap!
Where do I purchase my copy for both PC and PS3 for the next 2-3 years right now.
Playing the Demo and Bynum sets a Screen for Kobe. I start around the pick and Ray-Ray fights over top so I crossover and go back the other way. Whistle blows and Bynum gets called for an offensive foul for roughing up Ray-Ray on the screen.
Yes hello doesn"t it bother you that in the demo or 2K10 the centercourt line in the LA Lakers is normally purple in stead of Yellow like they do now??
And this game is the bomb. I played the demo like 100 times can"t get enough but yeah some details are missing like the head of paul pierce or bynum what is up with that or ray allen? They look like monkeys to me?
Hey Mike Wang..I don't know if this will be a problem in the final product, but I did something yesterday that had me wondering if this might become a glitch in the final product.....
I had just started my game (demo) and I got to an out of bounds play so the referee was giving the ball to the out of bounds player, and I wanted to see if I could make the hard foul work so I pushed the button command and my player went to foul the out of bounds player, so he grabbed the out of bounds player and the out of bounds player dropped the ball, the referee did not call the foul and the game just kinda froze from that point on,
now the referee was still counting the 5 secounds for the player to inbound but the game just stayed stuck ...not in the sense that everything was frozen but nothing happen to reset the game back to the out of bounds possession...the players just kept moving like they were trying to get open, the ref kept counting..so after I watched that for a while, I couldn't get anything else to happen,..... so I just quit the game and when I played again everything was fine after that...weird...lol
Prior to the release of the demo, I expected 2k to showcase 2 things: The change in controls(ISO and shots), and the tweaks to the AI. As bare bones as it is, I noticed these two things, and I particularly liked the improved AI defense. My favorite play so far happened when I allowed the CPU Artest to guard the CPU Pierce to see what would happen . Pierce got the ball, Artest bodied him, kept him from driving, and stripped him, sparking a nice 3 on 2 break. I don't recall seeing that happen much, if ever, before.
As far as all this PS3 vs 360, graphics. and all that stuff (the norm w/gamers of course), I'll just say this. When you're passionate about things you have higher expectations, and you're more critical (and maybe more observant?) than someone who is not. Also, if you EXPECT something (e.g., flaws), you'll find it. All I know is a non-gamer caught a glimpse of the demo and commented how close to the real thing the game looked. It was enjoyed, not analyzed in that moment.
I have to say this game is certainly crack. I'm not one to criticize the graphics just yet, cuz for me I'm still playing on a old *** Toshiba 40" that is not even HD. So you all can imagine I'm playing on what looks like N64 graphics cuz it's still somewhat blurry to me.
I'm waiting for a good deal on a new 46", and looking at the killer deals so far it looks I'll get my new HD tv probably within the end of the year. Anyways, I can't say enough about this game.
Thank you Mike Wang. I really enjoyed your input and how you changed the NBA Live Franchise. I've been playing both 2k and Live for years and I've always felt that 2k needed some of the dribbles and player movement similar to Live, and you gave that to me in this demo so far. You absolutely combined the best of both worlds. I love the new control and dribbling system, it takes time but I have to say based on what I've played and what I've seen in other fans videos players can replicate almost everything like in an actual NBA game.
I made a comeback and from 8-12 and hit two 3's with Kobe to win the quarter, 14-12. Kobe even did his signature right hand fist and even pounding the floor a bit.
Once I get to play a full-copy...I know what I'm going to do and that's test out all the Asian players and see who I can dominate with. In NBA Live, I used to score 100+ points, 10+ rebounds, 10+ assits with Sun Yue (he was literally the Chinese Magic/Lebron when I played with him) haha especially online in 5 min quarters but this is NBA2k so that aint going to happen. So I'll try out the Rockets with Yao, Yi with the Wizards, Haddadi with Grizzlies, then Warriors with Jeremy Lin. Then I'll see if Wang Zhi Zhi,Sun Yue, Ha Seung Jin, and even Yuta Tabuse are still on the free agent list! hahaha hope u still keeping those Chinese/Asian ballers in the free agent list. Only thing left now is if 2k got the rights to add FIBA teams, since EA didnt really do much with it.

1) artest scoring under the basket, then when there's a close-up on him running back to D, he's signaling to the ref that there was a foul on him (hitting on his arm).
2) Fisher (the user) was guarding Rondo, gave him some space, then Rondo did a crossover and Fisher fell down.
One thing that I really like this year, is that the CPU relly does stuff that in past years were done only by the user. For example, I love seeing the CPU faking a pass! That's something that if we had last year, you'd never see the CPU doing it.
I saw J. O'Neal posting up, faking a pss with one hand, then shooting a turnaround J. That was so nice to watch!!!
Playing the demo and I have questions for you 2k "pros"
Is there a delay on offense? I feel like I have to anticipate a ton and because the animation doesn't react when I want it to the defense reacts and I can't adjust.
How do I run a fast break? I get a long rebound or turnover, fish or kobe lead the break but by the time my outlet pass gets to them the player receiving the ball stops and the defense gets back?

Thanks!
try using the right stick passing and see if that helps. It doesnt happen to me with icon passing but try passing with RB + R-Stick and see how that works for you
Seeing some terrible things in the demo. I'm on offense and the Celtics got called for a defensive 3 seconds but they gave the Celtics the ball. Hope that's not in the retail.
Also those behind the back/ spin dunks in traffic has to go. More contact in the paint is needed. I know that's what many didn't like about Live but I actually liked that aspect of Live. Only time a player comes into the lane untouched is on a back door or fast break. 97% of the time theirs some kind of contact.
It is on default gamestyle AND pro. Don't forget this fact as it is important.
But if the game becomes as ridiculous as Live '10 was in the paint then I know I personally won't be a happy camper. The game shouldn't make NBA bigs lose the ball as if they were 5 year olds at the Y to simulate "paint traffic."
after a few days I have to say I become more an more impressed with the demo. everything feels pretty good in terms of control. however there are a couple of things that are still bothering me.
shot blocking seems to be very inconsistent. i never know what kind of blocking animation my player will do. sometimes he jumps high and does a good contest, other times he lazily just puts his hand up...and there appears to be no way to really control which type of block animation you want (jumping high, or not jumping).
defending post moves and turn around jumpers is a complete crap shoot and is very frustrating...i'm not sure what the trick is. sometimes my player jumps the way i want and really gets his hand up, other times he does a weak "one hand up" contest...there needs to be more consistency with controlling the type of block animation you want...like holding turbo gives you a jumping block animation every time, and not holding turbo gives you a weaker block animation.
when controlling post moves, this is the only area of the game that still feels too slow and unresponsive...when players do post moves (turn around shots, hook shots), it looks like they are half asleep and moving in slow motion...there's no sense of urgency in the post movements...maybe just speed up the animations by about 10-15 percent.
