I can't play as my Celtics?? so that means.. you can't play player vs player? damn.. that sucks.

The first thing that stood out to me was the deflected passes. The game already flows so smoothly, but when a pass is deflected there isn't this feeling that the ball is warping into someone's hand. It gets knocked away and then is up for grabs. The animations that go along with it really make it look fantastic.

Getting back to how the game flows though, it really has a very natural feel to it. It definitely makes you want to learn the controls so you can have full feel and responsibility over what is happening. I'm very impressed with how the game feels in my hands.

Gonna be hard to go back to NBA2K10 after experiencing this. Movement is ridiculously smooth. The variety of animations is stellar, and this is only the demo. I want to blurt out "Bestanimatedsportsgameever!" but will bite my tongue until it bleeds - FOR NOW. Contact and momentum are very well done. Staple Center sounds are excellent; vastly improved. "The Little Things" thread for this game should be HUGE. I miss being able to initiate the various walk the ball up animations that were in 2K9 (or 2K8?) and the demo options are very limited, but no biggie on either. Momentum jumpers are flat-out beautiful. Love playing defense, feels so much better. As Czar said, lay off the turbo except when needed. Can't imagine how much fun it's gonna be playing as Jordan

Nice work figuring out the playcalling too guys.
Thanks...lol

You guys were a little too excited about this "limited play calling" lol I had to posted that twice.

But I'm hearing good things. I can't tell what is my favorite part right now. The Controls, The (sort of) Death to lead pass, Stumbling players, Deep passes being bobbled and Or just the overall good feeling/vibe I'm getting from everyone on the forums.

Any negative remarks?

Anyone try walking the dog?

Totally agree. I wonder why they removed the walk the ball up animations. I always loved those.

it is a very striped down demo but very fun and very much of teaser demo if i ever played one before... 21 days to go...

# 191 Da_Czar @ 09/14/10 10:02 AM
Seriously though to keep it all the way real. this stripped down demo is complete BS. How they hell can you release a demo where you can only play as one team... NO PLAYS... well we found a work around for that but come on 2k that is just plain old BS.

Very impressed so far.

Quick breakdown on how to run a play(in the demo atleast):

Once most of your players are past half court tap LB/L1 and then quickly follow that up by pressing the icon of the player you want to run the play for. For example, Kobe Bryant would be B or O. So initially, tap LB/L1 and then quickly tap B/O. A red circle will be under the player of choice, Kobe in this case. You will now need to press another face button (A,B,X,Y/X,O,Triangle,Square) to initiate a play. If done correctly, play art will show up on the court.

It'll take a few times to be able to perform it constantly, and i'm sure that in the released version of 2k11 it will be much easier to do judging by Da Czar's videos. If you have any questions, just ask them in here.

Draft combine will be included in the game this year, or so i've read.

As mentioned, the demo is EXTREMELY barebones.

And the learning control for the controls is only further exasperated by me not being used to broadcast camera.

But the gameplay seems very good.

LOL oh shoot bro, i meant to say the draft combine will be in the game instead of having to dload it. Not my player ahahaha fail on my part.

While running plays I noticed an Icon of the pass button is displayed over the head of the player who's supposed to receive the ball at a certain moment in a play.

Brain dedicated to running plays, not run on sentences. Sorry 'bout that.

If the is a bad thing to say, its that the demo is so limited in the sense that all menus are stripped, you can only pick the Lakers, it DC's you from XBL, and it's only 1P.
It's also hard to get a hardcore sense of how balanced the full game will be with harder difficulty and sim sliders/settings, but that balanced Czar mentioned in 10team10days is definitely prevalent in the demo.

Also looks like the CPU doesn't have that catch-up speed when your on a breakaway, but if it did the way players interact while shooting(plus all the new available shot types) now means you wouldn't have the defense stop you on a dime as it did in 2k10. Feels great!

i understand, but they're trying to tease people so they will want to buy the full game even more...its' just good business. as a game company, you don't want to give away too much in the demo. it's to be expected.

It all depends on the direction you are running. Just pull the shot stick the opposite direction and you should have no problem doing it constantly.
