Hey guys...we will be putting out more and more videos as we drive to finish the game. Next week's videos will be direct capture, because these videos look a bit fast when just filmed with a camera in front of a TV. We will also have more gameplay that has not been seen yet...like put backs, more in-air collisions, hook shots, etc. As we get different dev guys playing the game, they each have different styles, so each set of videos will be different. We will focus on the CPU next week also. I will say that until you feel this game with your own hands (when you get the downloadable demo), it will be tough to understand how much control you truly have over the outcome of the game."
lol I also think we get no love based on orlandos media market. We dont have the same market as la,bos, mia, or even ny. I have seen player say they would love to play for ny because if there tradition. WTH. This is not college where tradition matters. I want to win so im what to play with the team that has the best chance of wining. Orl does not really get those big name free agents. Vince carter came cause this is his home basically and so did t-mac. lewis came through a sign and trade and hedo was far better then anyone thought he would be
But looking at the video i really do think they have the new arena in. Look at the name on the court. They changed it to amway center. I dont know if it was changed to center irl but at least the changed it on the game to show that its a different arena. Maybe they did it because everything else as outside the courts are the same for every arena basically except for the lighting
I have to admit, the game looks a little better, but im still not excited. Dribbling looks good and responsive, but over done. Looks like an An1 game. Everybody is dunking on everybody. To much sliding. On a side note, i done know who's playing this game, but he must have a collection off controllers. Sounds like he's breaking the damn think. Take it EASY dude.
Since the game allows you to choose to attempt the dunk everytime, there really needs to be a proper penalty for it. Players may be capable of dunking in these situations all of the time but they choose to take a layup for a variety of reasons, chiefly the contact. The game doesn't have injuries so that's out, but there should be some rim checking and trips to the line instead.
And the more I watch Lebron and Wade and Carter handle the ball exactly the same, the uglier it is. Not to mention the stepbacks that looked so good in Live 10 are now just ugly.

The game doesn't have injuries?
And I agree, I want it to look and feel like I'm controlling a different player/team.
This video, along with the clippers hornets one, are definitely an encouraging sign; they actually got me excited to try the demo. The game looks fun, but as far as a basketball sim it still has a ways to go.
Some notes off the top of my head:
-Physics engine looks very inconsistent. At times the interaction between players looks fluid and realistic, but other times, wades dunk around 1:02, a player will get dunked on as if he wasn't even there.
-The player movement needs some work, players are a little to stiff in there movements, not to mention the sliding/skating.
-Can someone tell me how that vince carter hopstep isn't a travel? I don't know the rules for hopsteps but that looked more like a jump than a hop to me. I do have to say that his pump fake right before the hopstep looked really good.
-Inside bounce passes get through way to easy. Reminds me of the lead pass problem of 2k.
-I really like the crowd noise and playoff atmosphere. That plus the addition of the ESPN crew really makes it feel like a playoff game on TV.
-A lot of people saying that this game is too fast paced and arcadey, which i agree, but sliders could correct this problem.
I think EA put themselves in a tough position with all their hype and talk about the physics engine. People were expecting this game to be leaps and bounds better than Live 10 and it's arguable which direction Elite 11 is going. This being the first year of a rebuilding process I think people were expecting a little to much out of EA. In a couple years the changes that have been put in place could result in a great game but right now EA still has some kinks to work out.
With all the patches and updates developers can do to games this could be a very different game in a couple of months. I remember reading a preview for this game in June and the article mentioned how quickly some problems could be fixed with the new engine. Perhaps there could be a Backbreaker 'Great House' like patch that can fix many issues and also add something to the game.
Im not making an excuse for elite but the majority of travels do not get called in the nba. Thats just one of those things players get away with in the nba like when wr push off going for a ball in the nfl. It gets called but all to often it does not.
But i would like for it to be called often in elite. There was also alot of travling in live 10 but i think that was because of the canned animations
its a three year project, from what i hear, so ill wait to buy this for about another three years lol
First & last time i'll post on these types of comments, but every sports game has a plan for the future. If you wait to buy 2K or Madden or NHL or The Show for 3 years, you'd find much better games across the board.
Yeah, the wade drive and dunk should have had a huge collison with both guys going flying. That warp and push has been in basketball games for way too long.

The injuries are the same as in Live 10, so no in-game injuries. They only occur through simming in a dynasty/season.
I think a sigged out version of Elite's ballhandling would be the best in any basketball game. I knew we wouldn't get that this year but I expected more than just Big/Small.
Found it interesting though that they released a vid using a camera in front of a tv...
From David Littman:
"Hey guys...we will be putting out more and more videos as we drive to finish the game. Next week's videos will be direct capture, because these videos look a bit fast when just filmed with a camera in front of a TV."
@ scottyp, the Vince Carter hopstep is legal, he picks up his dribble so you get two steps, the hop step is just landing on both feet for your second step. Carter lands on both feet, then goes straight up into the dunk. I think the animation is a bit long and the player (Carter in this case) gets too much air which does make it look a bit funny.
I also think if you choose to dunk after a hop step gather, there needs to be a specific library of dunks for that. Same with the other gathers.
Thats the lamest exscuse i ever heared it is called in the NBA it just rarely happens players don't travel alot but when it happens its called at any situation..remember Lebron's so called crab walk................TRAVEl it was called in a clutch shot situation
Players travel a ton in the NBA, and it very rarely gets called. This is one of the main complaints basketball "purists" have with the modern NBA. James' so-called crab dribble was so effective because it was never called prior to that one play in that one game. The move was so common for him he even named it. What does that tell you?
Also, ease of driving on default difficulty settings has been a problem going back to Sega Genesis days. No game has introduced any system that accurately represents physicality in basketball. Reckless driving should cause wear and tear on a players body, causing more injuries and ratings drops.
Let me guess, you think players also never set illegal screens, hence why those are never called.

How is it an excuse. I said i would like for it to be called. I also did not say it never gets called
And are you kidding me lebron travels more then anyone in the nba without getting called for it most of the time
Here is your king james traveling also. He does these things alot
This show alot of what happens every game in the nba. Just like carrying the ball. it rarely gets called
"I don't see a travel," says Borgia. "He gathers the ball, and then he gets a one-two." The same play appears in slow motion. At this speed, however, it's clear Wade's spin included a simultaneous hop. That's a moving pivot foot --which should be called a travel every time."
In that play, Wade clearly picks up the ball and then takes two steps. But the NBA rulebook, and a hundred million basketball fans around the globe, insist players ought to get only one step after picking up their dribble like that. Yet Borgia was ready to give him --and every other player --two steps in that situation. In the conversation that follows, Borgia unravels one of the NBA's great secrets. "We really don't reference the rulebook." Disgust. For many of basketball's fans, that's the main reaction to seeing today's NBA players cover great distances --sometimes almost all the way from the 3-point line to the rim --without dribbling the ball. "It's very blatant now," says Walt "Clyde" Frazier. One of the greatest point guards in NBA history, Frazier is also, as a Knick team broadcaster, a close observer of today's game. "They go twenty feet to the hoop without dribbling one time. This is what they are getting away with nowadays. Some of them are so obvious. You'll hear me on the broadcast saying 'That's a travel! Watch the feet!' Wilt [Chamberlain] would have averaged 100 points a game if they had let him do that."
