Title Update 3 (TU3)
  • The pump fake exploit was resolved. The entire defense will no longer rush the QB after a pump fake.
  • Resolved an issue with setting SS/ FS to QB Spy and then blitzing, virtually unblocked.
  • Increased the Overall rating for incoming freshman. This resulted in one and two star freshman coming in at a higher overall rating.
  • In Season Progression is back! Players once again have the ability to get a slight boost to their ratings during the season.
  • There was an issue with Hawaii's home schedule causing conflicts with particular teams. This has been resolved. In particular, teams in the Pac 10 and the WAC will now have the correct number of conference games.
  • Resolved an issue with the Rush Defense slider where they were only impacting defensive line special moves. They have been adjusted to also impact win/loss chances for blocking.
Live Tuning Pack 3 (LTP3)
  • Kick Power/Kick Accuracy progression for Kickers and Punters was adjusted to be in line with the new incoming freshmen. Kickers and punters will now progress in line with other players, but will start with a higher average overall due to the improved recruit ratings in the patch.
  • Increased Awareness progression for all positions.
  • Increased progression slightly for Elusiveness, Spin Move, and Juke Move for Wide Receivers.
  • Increased progression of the Tackle rating for Corner Backs to be in line with WR skill ratings (Juke, Spin, and Elusiveness).
  • Reduced the frequency of defenders successfully jumping the snap. Also adjusted how frequently they would jump early when the offense performed a fake snap.
  • Tuned Man Coverage so defenders will not jump in front of routes so early. They will still jump the route, but not as early, or frequently, as before.
  • Adjusted in season progression to be in line with higher rated incoming freshmen.
  • Tuned Incoming freshman to better match the spread on the default rosters.
  • Tuned team prestige progression to be in line with the changes to incoming freshmen.

So does this mean all dynasties will have to be started over for the changes to take effect?

Similar here man. Just bought NCAA online, cant wait for it to get here, and will be trading Madden in asap.

We gotta give serious credit to the NCAA team for coming out with all of these fixes. Probably the biggest fixes I've seen for a game, and for that to come out of EA, deserves even bigger credit .

FINALLY!!! this game will be the closest thing to perfect we've had for next gen football.

I am psyched about this especially:
Increased progression slightly for Elusiveness, Spin Move, and Juke Move for Wide Receivers.

Looks like I'll be playing TWO football games this year (haven't played NCAA since Madden dropped).

I hate being "that guy", but you guys are praising EA for fixing a lot of things that should have never needed correction in the first place. Don't take me wrong, I am glad EA is fixing the issues they let get into their game, but a lot of these never should have happened in the first place.

They should have done tests before the game came out and saw their recruits were coming in too low in numerous ratings, were progressing too little, they should have saw the depth chart issues, they should have seen the scheduling issues. But I guess I should be happy they are fixing these issues....

Special teams matter people. Ask Urban Meyer he challenges his starters to play special teams. Ask Bill Parcells. EA has to make special teams matter next year. Blocked kicks we need that. Bad snaps on field goal and punt tries (those lead to blocks), we need that. We need the wedge on kickoff returns to actually work! Proper blocking on punt returns and a realistic chance at breaking big returns, especially on long booming punts. EA got this right towards the end of the last gen game cycle. They need to concentrate on this and quite frankly there are not enough people here screaming about this. Who cares about pro combat jerseys man? This game is so close to being great it makes me crazy. Just a little more work on gameplay EA

I'm hoping the CPU dynasty depth chart issues will be sorted out with the new tweaks to recruits. Also I'm hearing that the Big-10 team schedules are not being rotated properly. Ohio State not playing Wisconsin in 5 yrs that's not right. There needs to be hardcore attention paid to scheduling and schedule rotation by the devs because it matters.

Overall props to EA this game is soooooo much better than it was 2 yrs ago.
Totally agree man. They improved so much on gameplay this year and it really is getting to the football game we all expect. The run blocking is unbelievable and prepatch/tuner update the qb accuracy was close to perfect also. But they also have a lot more to work on before Im satisfied.

My gameplay list for NCAA 12:

Pass blocking
WR/DB interaction
penalties
route based passing
animations
real time physics engine
weather conditions playing a huge factor in gameplay (dropped passes, more fumbles, more slipping)

Penalties is always the one that surprises me being off. You could just have the penalties very light at default if the casual gamer wants that and really ramp it up from there. PI really needs to be called alot more.

It looks like creating true real-life prospects will work better now. They currently come in ranked too low so this should fix it.

Is this patch going to fix CPU players "covering the ball" when they are running?? It just seems goofy to all of a sudden see a WR or RB cover the ball when there is nobody around them.

great!!!!!

sorry if this has already been asked but ...

I'm 6 games into my first season. Will this affect my incoming recruits in the offseason or will I need to start a new dynasty after the patch?

# 91 jsou4646 @ 09/04/10 06:22 AM
Are they fixing the cpu attempting field goals ranging from 56 to 63 yard when playing on the hesiman level, if not this game is still unplayable and who ever is trying to fix it is a joke. Sorry to sound like an *** but it's beyond old not being able to play this game.

Wow! The NCAA devs are simply fantastic this year

So that was how they broke the running game with the second patch. Funny, because a lot of posters were claiming the running game improved with the second patch. Guess I wasn't crazy after all.

I hope they really did fix this. The running game was tough but realistic before the second patch/tuner update. But has been ridiculous since. The problem for me seems to be that you lineman move on to the second level way too fast. I hope this fixes it. I play on Heisman by the way. And after the second update I have started to lose interest in the game. Hopefully this will bring me back.

Presuming this patch doesn't introduce any show stoppers, this'll be the final patch of the year (might be more tune files), so the thought process is "don't address too much and risk another major problem". Patch 2 seemed too good to be true... and it was. This is a modest patch that addresses most of the major problems and I hope was little enough to be tested thoroughly so we wont see any new problems.

So if there are things you consider big that didn't get addressed, understand it wasn't because they didn't look at it or didn't care. It was likely that they either fixed it and found it created another problem, or they saw the potential for it creating problems and decided to hold off until N12.

Thanks for the insight, I'll hold off on buying until NCAA 12 then when they have time to fix everything. No sense in buying an incomplete product.

Hopefully with the necessary gameplay adjustments 12 will be a must buy!

Kind of disappointed that they didn't work on the kickoff/punt return blocking, which is the bad part of the game. Oh well, I'll still end up playing the game without the threat of a CPU return.

It will NOT affect the recruits for the year you're currently year. The next year you play and the game generates the new recruiting poll it will affect them.

But in-season progression should kick in as soon as you download the tuner set.

# 98 Senator Palmer @ 09/04/10 01:41 PM
And here I was in the Madden forum not too long ago touting how close to perfect the d-line interactions were. I hope this new tuning pack doesn't ruin it, because I've been able to get a realistic amount of pressure from my front four -- and even a three man rush.
