Title Update 3 (TU3)
  • The pump fake exploit was resolved. The entire defense will no longer rush the QB after a pump fake.
  • Resolved an issue with setting SS/ FS to QB Spy and then blitzing, virtually unblocked.
  • Increased the Overall rating for incoming freshman. This resulted in one and two star freshman coming in at a higher overall rating.
  • In Season Progression is back! Players once again have the ability to get a slight boost to their ratings during the season.
  • There was an issue with Hawaii's home schedule causing conflicts with particular teams. This has been resolved. In particular, teams in the Pac 10 and the WAC will now have the correct number of conference games.
  • Resolved an issue with the Rush Defense slider where they were only impacting defensive line special moves. They have been adjusted to also impact win/loss chances for blocking.
Live Tuning Pack 3 (LTP3)
  • Kick Power/Kick Accuracy progression for Kickers and Punters was adjusted to be in line with the new incoming freshmen. Kickers and punters will now progress in line with other players, but will start with a higher average overall due to the improved recruit ratings in the patch.
  • Increased Awareness progression for all positions.
  • Increased progression slightly for Elusiveness, Spin Move, and Juke Move for Wide Receivers.
  • Increased progression of the Tackle rating for Corner Backs to be in line with WR skill ratings (Juke, Spin, and Elusiveness).
  • Reduced the frequency of defenders successfully jumping the snap. Also adjusted how frequently they would jump early when the offense performed a fake snap.
  • Tuned Man Coverage so defenders will not jump in front of routes so early. They will still jump the route, but not as early, or frequently, as before.
  • Adjusted in season progression to be in line with higher rated incoming freshmen.
  • Tuned Incoming freshman to better match the spread on the default rosters.
  • Tuned team prestige progression to be in line with the changes to incoming freshmen.

NCAA is the best game of the year ( as far as football ). I play NCAA religiously everyday and i had fell out of favor with it. I didnt buy a NCAA game for 2 years before this year. Its so good, i didnt buy madden for the first time in my life. Im 26 and been playing Madden since i was 7 and i didnt buy it or even think too. I used to buy NCAA and play it until Madden came out but this year i was too into NCAA. Im like 8 yrs in on my Dynasty in everything. Big ups to the crew who doing NCAA this year.....if only they can get double hit tackling next year and some better physics we will have a almost perfect experience.

You might have missed it but they did input that.

Now please just stop with the patches and tuner updates, so I can get my sliders straight and start a dynasty already.

Being facetious here...

But seriously... No more updates.

Sounds great. Wish they would have fixed the CPU depth chart problem, but the rest of it sounds awesome.

# 65 canes21 @ 09/03/10 08:58 PM
So what is being done with CPU depth charts? Are the freshman going to be rated so much higher that the CPU teams will be using correct players or is this issue going to go unfixed. If its the latter, this patch is useless for dynasty players.

# 66 bnoe1023 @ 09/03/10 09:05 PM
OK so sounds like the consensus is that we won't have to re-start our dynasties...

My question is, I'm nearing the end of my second season, so will the updates to the recruits overall ratings immediately affect the class I'm currently recruiting for next season? Or will it not take into effect until the next season begins and I start recruiting the next class?

# 67 canes21 @ 09/03/10 09:12 PM
They won't come in with higher ratings since those are already set once the class is generated, but they will have the new progression. And if you get the patch then start the next preseason, those recruits will have new ratings and everything else.

Already sold Madden 11 off, I would never sell this game off, and here a BIG reason why. You go NCAA guys over at EA.

I'm glad they fixed the rush defense slider. Now I hope that the toning down of man coverage will make zone coverage more useful.

I will start over with a new Dynasty team once again. I know we don't have to, but I like having total continuity throughout a particular dynasty in terms of recruiting, progression, and gameplay. I think I'll head somewhere east of the Mississippi this time.

I am thinking the same. That may make AA playable again...

This is why NCAA > Madden

Suprised they didn't mention adjustments to Robo QB in Heisman.

The passing was fine before the last tuning adjustment, seems like they would have wanted to implement that.

Them not fixing CPU depth charts in Dynasty mode = me selling this game.

I held out hope for Patch 2... and it did nothing worthwhile. I haven't touched the game since well before Madden came out (I don't play that any more, either), but haven't traded it in in hopes that Patch 3 would fix the one major issue that bugged me as an offline-only user...

And they didn't. See ya, NCAA. It's awesome that they are making so many updates and trying, but I'm done giving EA my money for their half-asses sports games that require patch, after patch, after patch, only to never be fixed enough.

Outstanding news!

The NCAA team is clutch this year in many ways. I like the updates and tweaks and this one definitely polishes up some areas.

Only other areas I wanted to see tightened up were CPU depth charts, kick/punt return blocking/coverage, zones and CPU running the read option/triple option.

Overall, this is still one helluva game will get a little better on Sept. 7th.

Thanks EA!

That was my thought process as well regarding zone coverage, as well as the improved awareness (even though some say it doesn't do anything).

I'm pleasantly surprised at how many changes are in this patch/LTP. NCAA 11 is the first 360 version I've enjoyed and this will make it even better.

# 78 BurghFan @ 09/03/10 11:25 PM
Sounds good. I'd been wondering about in-season progression. Guess I'll wait a few more days to start season 2 of my dynasty.

# 79 Starfleeter @ 09/03/10 11:47 PM
Does this mean I won't be top 10 in rushing defense with SDSU anymore even with the rush defense slider at 40 and run blocking at 60?

You do realize that with recruits coming in with better ratings that there shouldn't be as many depth chart problems since the only time the CPU puts abnormal positions is when there is a large disparity between a position player who is meant for that spot and a non-position who happens to be better...at least from my experience.

I'm satisfied with the changes and let's give EA credit. This game has come so far in just the last 2 yrs. I hated NCAA 9 and 10 I gave up on with the broken fatigue system and horrible recruit progression. Still as mentioned by others we need more changes if not now in the next yr or 2.

Special teams matter people. Ask Urban Meyer he challenges his starters to play special teams. Ask Bill Parcells. EA has to make special teams matter next year. Blocked kicks we need that. Bad snaps on field goal and punt tries (those lead to blocks), we need that. We need the wedge on kickoff returns to actually work! Proper blocking on punt returns and a realistic chance at breaking big returns, especially on long booming punts. EA got this right towards the end of the last gen game cycle. They need to concentrate on this and quite frankly there are not enough people here screaming about this. Who cares about pro combat jerseys man? This game is so close to being great it makes me crazy. Just a little more work on gameplay EA

I'm hoping the CPU dynasty depth chart issues will be sorted out with the new tweaks to recruits. Also I'm hearing that the Big-10 team schedules are not being rotated properly. Ohio State not playing Wisconsin in 5 yrs that's not right. There needs to be hardcore attention paid to scheduling and schedule rotation by the devs because it matters.

Overall props to EA this game is soooooo much better than it was 2 yrs ago.
