With that as my personal standard 2k11 exceed that by a descent amount for me. In fact when you combine the smoothness of the transition between animations in addition to responsiveness then no other 2k game holds a candle to it.

If you found controls in any 2k game to be bearable then I can't see you not thinking this is a marked improvement. The thing is most of us are so used to watching the animations we freeze once they start.

Happened to me a lot until I started to remember I can still work in those situations. Its funny how my body automatically was used to watching instead of playing during those instances.

A lot of people are making assumptions on 2k controls based on 2k9 and 2k10. Those games were abberations to the progress made in 2k8. TO ME it seems like 2k11 is built on top of 2k8's solid base. Just my opinion that is not what literally happened.....
Okay so i pop in 2k8 in b/c i traded my 2k10 in with few others games to get 2k11 for free(well sort of). While I agree that 2k8 from a isomotion stand point the game felt really really responsive, but the lack of control in the post killed if for me. Going from what 2k10 accomplished back to 2k8 was being like sent back to 1st grade and having your parents called it "Super 1st Grade". I don't want to go back there, no matter how good the toys were.

What I meant to ask is; does it feel you have more control over altered shots?.
You can do it in 2K10 but since Da Czar mentioned the control is better and that you aren't stuck in animations, does that mean that altering your shot in mid air feels more fluent and responsive than in 2K10?

That response was to the question about ISO controls. I didn't do a lot of shot adjusting.

I'm very impressed with the gameplay and how it is looking so smooth right now. I can't wait for the demo and the full game next month.

Only thing I don't like about NBA 2K games is how the basketball itself doesn't seem to be its own entity, as if it's mo-capped like the players are and only has specific animations tied to it, almost like it doesn't occupy the laws of gravity but instead the physics the creators have made for it.

Dumb rant, but everything else actually looks pretty good. Court spacing looks better than the earlier video.

noob question.

right next to the players name during the game, there are bars(look like cell service bars) and was wondering what is that indicating?

The more the bars, the better accuracy of shooting for the player in the particular spot.

Da_Czar, To me you're the best non-official marketing help 2K has ever had. I would let you write some Insights for 2K11. After reading your posts, I feel like 2K11 is the basketball game I have been waiting for. Thank you for taking the time to post comments here.

2k nails, the TV style presentation...they are the best in the business at that.

I like the ambiance and how the crowd isnt going crazy every second of the game.

They react more appropiatley based on the ebs and flows of the game. Very NBA Live 10 like.

I like how a cold nash missed a wide open 3, and also the off ball movement of your players seems much better...and it looks like we'll be able to drive and kick of of dribble penetration.

The thing that has always driven me crazy about the 2k game is that the team defense never breaks down off of dribble penetration..which allowed online campers to be able to roam aroudn the court, without compromising their defense.

Looks like that has been fixed.

Good stuff.

I saw the post pivot foot in the other game, I hope its in here. That stuff is dope, to be able to pick and choose your spots or face up! true genius, true innovation. the other stuff...well lol.

What kind of post pivot? Is it like the one Dwight pulled in the Nuggets-Magic gameplay vid (dropstep + pivot up and under)?

I've also never even seen dudley dunk, so a putback is out of the question. Other than that it looked really good.

its like what kobe or any good post player does, feel you out before establishing a pivot foot. You can choose to face up or put your back to defender. Its really neat. I never seen it in any 2k vid and as freely as that. Czar was even impressed by it lol.

While Dudley never dunks....but hey, he has the ability to...

Cant really get upset about a 6'8 NBA player slam back a putback with one hand.....If it was nastier of flashier I might have issue..

Its true his tendencies shouldve kicked in though

I imagine I won't see that happen in the game alot..so it doesn't bother me too much. But as a Suns fan, its kinda weird to see that.
