I will agree with the recovery on defense, however, the faster jumpshots will help alleviate this somewhat. You'll see.
This is thing I don't want to continue, speeding up the jumpshots just makes all the jumpers look unrealistic, like in 2k10. All the jumpers should have a follow through, they're just gonna have to fix the recovery speed imo.
Wow, the player movement (jumping, running, etc) looks so life-like, would like to see tougher interior Defense but as stated it was on the Default gamestyle and not the Sim Gamestyle which I will be using.
BTW, you can tell who the NBA LIVE/ELITE fanboys are and how insecure they are by reading their harsh critiques based on a 2min video that was prob not the finished product yet...
No wonder we get very little game footage from 2K early on. Its amazing how poised people are to complain with no regard for circumstance or conditions.
1. This is a demo of an unfinished product
2. The Gamerstyle is confirmed to be on casual
3. The default setting for pretty much every 2K game has been pro; if this is on default as confirmed, there is no reason to assume this video is on any other level
4. There is a human player involved, hell bent on double teaming every possession and getting to the rim at all costs.
Basically, it makes no sense to comment on how the game plays based on an unclear(dark) 1:00 video with all these variables. In fact, most should realize that the only way to truly get a feel for the game is to play it; loose gameplay vids will only provide general impressions unless a developer is narrating showing specific elements. Im going to watch closely all these dudes -itchin and moaning about how this game is a dunkfest and the same as last year. We get this every year, and guys change there tune eventually every year when detailed information comes out.
Per Ronnie's post, the demo was set to 'Default'. Per the past insight the GameStyles are:
Default: Kind of a hyper-realism. Shooting %’s will be slightly higher than real life, there will be fewer fouls, slightly more dunks, more and 1’s, etc. “Let ‘em play hoops” so to speak.
Casual: This is the setting you want if you like up and down play with lots of dunks and highlight moments. There won’t be a whole lot of stoppages and you’ll see higher scoring across the board. Arcade-style play is probably the best way to describe it.
Simulation: Real life stats. This is my game style of choice. With 12-min. quarters, you will easily see NBA averages across your stat lines. Don’t expect anything easy in the paint, you’ll have to work a lot harder and execute good basketball strategy to be successful in Sim.
Custom: If you manually modify sliders and settings on your own, the game slider will automatically change to Custom.
Yea this is what I was referring too...I had the wordings mixed up..I was thinking Casual was the middle level while Sim is Sim and Arcade is Arcade...

I found 2k11 to have the best spacing of the whole 2k series.
The video is a horrible example of the gameplay in 2k11.
the over reactions is right on point for the first public video of nba 2k11 lets just hope this doent go on for long....well if u cant beat em u join em....cutting off DOris burke is still rude ppl let the lady speak or if u do interup her appologise and ask her to finish geeez
Hooray for new menu system!!! and with pertinent game info like scores and timeouts left and foul situations. in the 1st minute, I already notice a major difference between last year and this year in terms of player movment and locomotion. Wow, thanks 2K....last year was basically bone dry compared to the amount of content we have now....this stuff wasn't coming out until late august/ mid sept. It's funny how people look for things to critique..... but I guess thats the nature of this business right? . Based on everything I have seen so far, I cannot wait to get this game. At this point, I cannot imagine 2K11 bombing out.

pretty easy to spot the 2k fanboys as well... you know, the ones that think just because a person dislikes something about 2K, they're considered EA fanboys... gimmie a break.
