- Passes, still same odd ones i hate the passes in this game.
- Dribbling, a bit better but still, something wrong with it.
- Haywood's running through and dunking, no way realistic, and i'm sure we'll see lots are capable of doing this.
- Cuts to the basket and here we go, no defense whatsoever, where is interior d?
- Bad bad bad court spacing, all players get together in corners to chit chat i guess, where is team specific playcalls.
- This game plays odd overall in order to trigger canned animations that tries to make you wow, but you don't do these wows on your own, all triggered by you pressing buttons.
That may play different with a guy playing the game as it should but, the game don't force you that way, instead it leads you easy dunk fest.
And still you see them working on the same engine to tweak what's already broken..
Got Troll ? it has already been said that the game is set on casual.
So if you think that they have said nothing about defense, then you must think that they havent said much about offense, foot-planting, dribbling, etc. The only thing they have been talking about is the Jordan Challange. They have mention the improvements to offense and defense in the same way.
Just because other websites who don't talk about defense as much as you'd like dosent mean you need to blame 2k for this.
That is the quote from Ronnie's twitter. Now he does not say if it's casual mode or not but by reading that statement it rules out it being SIMULATION mode either.
Im not being biased at all, They have talked about defense like I said. The trailer's are obviously showcasing offense right now, which IS THE SELLING POINT to their type of gamer. And at the same time MOMENTOUS did the trailer, and he knows how much us die hard fans care about Defense.
It's more like your looking at the game as if you have funded millions of dollars into 2ksports and deserve to have every improvement you want to see in VIDEO for yourself. Sorry buddy business does not work this way.
I believe the demo is set to Pro difficulty, Default Game Style. But I could be wrong. It definitely didn't look like Simulation. As most, if not all, of those passes would probably have been tipped.
there...now lets see if people actually read this...
Per Ronnie's post, the demo was set to 'Default'. Per the past insight the GameStyles are:
Default: Kind of a hyper-realism. Shooting %’s will be slightly higher than real life, there will be fewer fouls, slightly more dunks, more and 1’s, etc. “Let ‘em play hoops” so to speak.
Casual: This is the setting you want if you like up and down play with lots of dunks and highlight moments. There won’t be a whole lot of stoppages and you’ll see higher scoring across the board. Arcade-style play is probably the best way to describe it.
Simulation: Real life stats. This is my game style of choice. With 12-min. quarters, you will easily see NBA averages across your stat lines. Don’t expect anything easy in the paint, you’ll have to work a lot harder and execute good basketball strategy to be successful in Sim.
Custom: If you manually modify sliders and settings on your own, the game slider will automatically change to Custom.
Got Troll ? it has already been said that the game is set on casual.
Oh man, this forum is gettin worse every day right, don't i have any right to write my thoughts here anymore, did i say anyone anything except my solid opinions based on what is really seen in this video??
I just wrote down and i got my reply in 2secs, how sweet and mature reply is that, thank you.
Ah man, what's wrong with this forum about this game..?
Same ish...
the only thing i found difference was the way players move, it look smoother...still this its almost the same 2k10 gameplay (which its not bad) but at least you expect they fix the hopstep teleport move...NAH
shots still go in 100% of time in the paint...WOW
...and the animations from behind still there... Wade stripped by Haywood?..REALLY?
It doesn't matter if the game its on casual setting...those animations will work on any level...Not excited at all about 2k11...the only positive thing its that they will fix the servers...
I don't get how the difference it gamestyles/settings/difficulties does not matter, in your opinion.

Lol yeah. Thats it. Even if the game was on casual that shouldn't mean the CPU steps out of the way and says "here, have a dunk" unless of coarse they risk a flagrant or getting dunked on. They shouldn't matador off the dribble.

What they talk about isnt always what we get. What we see is usually closer to what we get. Also how does Ronnie's comments rule out the game being played on sim?

no it has to do with the fact you are trying to point none flaws as flaws it has already been said how casual game style would play so nothing you point out is relevant for that simple reason that they told us what to expect if you chose to play in that mode.

Because you guys are not having substantial arguments to why and at the same time not listening to other people's opinion, let alone not looking at the facts in this thread.
All I ever hear from yall is I hope it's not like 2k10, it looks like 2k9, omg It's annoying. First of all the video is two minutes two long, it's not very good quality, and it's just been confirmed that it's in default style.

Bruh, you need to take your own advice and READ what I said. I said they have mentioned little....LITTLE....in the way of defense in comparison to other features like offense, MJ challenges, etc. LITTLE, meaning they HAVE touted about defensive changes, but nowhere to the extent of the other features which, again, I am well aware of the extensive amount of coverage they have been given. And no one's blaming 2K for anything. I'm just stating my curiosity in seeing how much the Jordan aspect, among other offensive features of the game has been pushed, and how not as much has been mentioned regarding defense - and it shows in this clip. But I'm not being over analytical, which is why I said in my original post, "I'm hoping" the clip is played in casual mode.

Yea cause fe we will see different passes in diffrent settings??? or
When we can see mid air interactions?
And above all that, i have every right to write down what i think ok. I didn't tell any bad words to anyone, i just expressed my thoughts here about a video game that i'm playing.
I don't get how the difference it gamestyles/settings/difficulties does not matter, in your opinion.
It might matter if its more than sliders. I don't know if it is but I suspect its not. If its just sliders most of us have been playing sim for years now, all they did was add presets like NHL 2k.
I don't usually post but it's ridiculous how many of you are making such large judgements off of a 2 min DEMO, let's wait until we are closer to the release date and have more than one clip to go off of before making critical analysis
AND try reading through the thread you will see that there are 4 gamestyles Casual Default Sim and Custom this video is on Default

Wat else do you possibly want?
Why can't you just read ones opinion about a game and say ok that's what he's thinking like that ,but instead you try to be the lawyer of the game, let the producers do that please ok, i play this game myself.
mike wang isnt the lead gameplay designer for 2k he is a senior engineer so that means nothing to me... mike wangs job was to bring some of the crowd over to the live side, so in an essence he failed, meaning i dont think EA sports took it as a loss when he went back to 2k sports... Now most of the team thats working on NBA elite is the team from nba live 05 which i can say was the better game back then. So seeing that they had the better game back then I can see them making huge strides this year maybe not taking the crown, because even 2k took a few years to do that, but making a huge stride in the right direction, way better than anything mike wang ever did.. Food for thought
Wow. You are a real good troll. You talk about crap you have NO knowledge of, and yet, the sheep that follow you eat this garbage up. Good job dude.
