NCAA Football 11 News Post

NCAA Football 11 will be available in stores tomorrow, July 13th, and a patch will be available at the same time. Based on feedback from the community on the Demo, and internal testing, we have addressed several issues after the game was sent to Microsoft and Sony. The following changes were made for the July 13th patch:
  • Fixed an exploit where the QB could walk through the defense when the ball is snapped, with a guaranteed a gain of over 50 yards.
  • Tuned QB fumbling on scrambles, resolving an issue where the QB would fumble every time if hit past the line of scrimmage.
  • Improved deep zone coverage assignments, making it significantly more difficult to be beaten by the deep ball. In particular, deep zones have been improved against Streak routes.
  • Tuned QB throwing out of a sack. Previously, it was too easy for a QB to throw the ball while being tackled; this has been toned down to be more accurate.
  • Resolved an error with pursuit angles, which resulted in defenders over pursuing the ball carrier every play. The angle was fixed to be slightly more aggressive, creating a more accurate pursuit.
  • Tuned the read and react assignment for linebackers, especially outside linebackers, before the handoff. This will make it more difficult to run the ball outside the Tackles.
  • Fixed an issue with the CPU ball carrier being stuck in a forward lean animation. Also lowered the frequency of CPU ball carriers leaning.
  • Resolved an issue where AI players in man coverage assignment would swerve when covering particular vertical routes, causing them to be beat repeatedly.
  • Ball carriers will no longer go into a tightrope assignment when running along the sideline. This was causing the player's speed to decrease to 70%.
  • Resolved an issue that was causing tackles to not matchup in online games, potentially causing a crash in online games.
  • Footsliding will no longer occur when the ball carrier has the ball in their left hand.
  • Tuned CPU screen passes so they will get rid of the ball faster, resulting in less sacks.
  • Resolved a crash that occurred if connection is lost before entering a game mode.

Yes. Silver is free. Just set up an account through the 360 once you have your system hooked online.

It's a software update that automatically downloads to your game console and usually deals with fixing known bugs, problems or exploits that a game has. You need to be connected to the internet in order to receive it.

------

I'm kind of disappointed that I just read through 4 pages of PA glitch talk and didn't get any feedback about the patch. =(

------

Does anyone know if the PA Glitch can be fixed with a slider set? Just throwing that out there.

Patch #1: Already here and issue isn't fixed.

Patch #2: Normally the mods or devs make a thread and ask the community for bug/glitch feedback. Millenium has already done this. The devs compile the list and start to work on all the fixes. Normally this is a 2-4 week process.

Correct? Which means that this issue may be atleast 2 weeks away from being fixed unless they do some kind of fast hotfix. Not saying we can't do the workarounds you guys mentioned. Just saying it's a little annoying is all.

*Ducks*

Carry on... :P
That's what the big hoopla was regarding "tuning".

I was gonna ask about the first post..is that 50 yard gain by the QB thing the "walk glitch" that I've heard people talk about? Glad that's getting patched by the sound of it - that seems even worse than this one, at least for multiplayer play.
As an OD owner using UGA I will have to make a mental note to not use that play.

im glad the cpu will actually be able to get a screen pass off. That will keep sack and TFL stats for DT's to a sane number.

It's great that they're releasing a patch so quickly to address all these things; however, I have to ask ... how does some of this stuff make it into a final build in the first place? QBs fumbling on every scramble? DBs getting beat every time against vertical routes? As long as the patch works properly, which I'm sure it will, all of this will be a non-issue. Still, patches are supposed to make minor adjustments to errors that might have slipped through during development. Some of these things don't seem like minor aspects.

The game still looks really good, but I'm nervous now about what other things might be wrong. I didn't care at all about some things not working properly in the demo, but it's a little disconcerting that the retail version needs this many fixes on day one. No game is ever perfect (there will always be some things wrong), but hopefully the patch will take care of all the major problems.

I can give you my links later if you like, or just hit EASportsWorld and search for ExtremeGamer, they are there. I've also posted them here somewhere, but it would be in my post history.
Have you tried pausing the game to see if that would make him stop?

This is exactly how I feel. There were hardly ever these big bugs/glitches in NCAA on the PS or PS2. None that I remember that makes me mad as I am about this play-action glitch.

Or perhaps some of that stuff WAS in the game but since there were no patches and the information about what a patch contained, you never noticed?

And also when things get more complex, that means more things have the possibility of breaking. You can't find EVERYTHING in testing, ever. That's just the way it goes. And it's not like the patch notes are saying things like:

- Fixed an issue where scoring a Touchdown was counted as 600 points instead of 6
- Corrected a problem with QB throwing ball incredibly fast through WR's chest
- Fixed an issue in which whenver the punter kicked the ball, his leg flew off with it

There have ALWAYS been glitches in games. We just now happen to be in an era (in console games at least, it's been done on the PC forever) where the bugs are openly acknowledge and patched.

I'm having an issue with equipment, please let me know if anyone else is noticing this same problem...

If I have a player wear only one long sleeve in the edit player screen, he ends up not wearing any sleeves at all during the game....

OK, I'm confused, maybe I shouldn't be but I am.

Is this QB PA Glitch only happening on the one specific play? Y-Trips, PA Boot Screen?

that play is in various formations, I guess it could be broken is each of them.

Well he playaction glitch was founf within hours of people getting it early. So I find no excuse for that glitch. This game looks great this year and I'll be getting it. But there will be no dynasty for me until the playaction glitch gets fixed.

True but it was supposed to be fixed in the retail version and wasn't so I'm basing it on that I think it was fixed for the retail version, but not all the way. Then it was found again.

I'm hoping that this new patch hasn't been released until tomorrow and it's fixed even though it's not listed in these fixes.

it was most likely fixed for some of the PA plays that had this issue, but they missed or didn't know about the others.

when you log in with xbox live on does the patch automatically come or do you have to look thru the downloadable content

if your connected to the internet, it'll ask you if you want to download the update when you start the game from the dashboard. you don't have to search for it.(it's not listed in the marketplace anyway)
