Same here.. but i feel madden 2011 has the same problem.
I believe the locomotion seems to be the reason why they look like that more than ever.

Itīs funny because locomotion should make movement and motion more realistic rather the other opposite.

I agree and it makes sense to some extent in that the offensive player knows where they are going (obvious advantages in inclement weather games for footing/planting) but it's still a little overpowered for the offense right now.

This looks like a carry over from a problem in Madden 10.

The Right Tackle is a swinging gate vs a user controlled edge rusher.

I played Texas-Oklahoma on AA, using Oklahoma.

Here are the ratings of the 2 Texas Tackles

LT: 90 Overall, 90 Awareness, Pass Block: 87, Pass Block Strength 80, Pass Block Footwork 90

RT: 90 Overall, 88 Awareness, Pass Block 88, Pass Block Strength 84, Pass Block Footwork: 86

--They are pretty much close to being the same type of player. The RT is stronger the LT, but the LT has a slightly higher awareness and foot work rating

Oklahomas DE's

LE: 89 Overall, 81 speed, 82 strength, 81 Block Shedding, 83 Finesse Move, 79 power move

RE:88 Overall, 73 speed, 84 strength, 82 Block Shedding, 68 Power Move, 82 Finesse Move.

LE is more of a speed rusher, the RE is stronger (yet he has a low power move rating? odd).

--Im able to blow right by the RT nearly at will..with the shoulder dip to the outside, or in..Im not even snap jumping, I just dip right on by him...once in awhile I'll get shoved down, but virtually very time..I can whip the RT very easily.

The LT, he stands his ground much better..he takes a good angle and tries to ride you wide if you try to go outside, and I actually had to make a counter move, and mix it up, more often then not.

If you flip the DEs, you get the same results. The RT, for some reason, cannot get into proper pass protection position.

I know this from first hand experience in my Madden 10 online league. The league leader in sacks is a user controlled Mario Williams...flipped to the Left side, so he can go up against the RT.

When we played, he was bursting into the backfield with ease. I have two 97 rated offensive tackles.

Its a definite AI soft spot.
I've noticed this as well. Pretty much every demo matchup I've played I've noticed that I can get pressure at will going up against the RT. I'm going to monitor sacks in our OD to see how this shakes out. It could get scary considering they improved the front 4's pass rush.

1 HUGE positive and 1 POTENTIAL negative.....

I played UT vs OU on the demo just now and one thing that I LOVE is that a power back is no longer useless. I put Cody Johnson (FB #31) at starting RB just to try it out, and it was a thing of beauty. In past years this player would be completely ineffective but I was somewhat successful with him even running against OU. he didnt break any long runs but was effectively getting 4-5 yards gains, and would fall forward on tackles vs smaller defenders. (This is a HUGE upgrade IMO)

My potential negative is with teams that run a no huddle. Obviously OU did this against me and they had a 12 play drive. During the course of this drive (all no huddle), they had to sub in 3 CBs at WR. I like the CPU running no huddle but I don't want them to do it at the expense of having their WRs taken out of the game. This could lead to out of whack stats with 2-3 CBs catching passes every game, also it is unrealistic.

Overall i love the game and cant wait to start my OD!!

Played this for like an hour today and the thing I was most impressed with was this:

Every single time the situation called for it, the receiver made sure he got a foot in (Most of the time it was the stop at the sideline and lean over it while keeping feet in animation). Without fail. Every time. It was magical.

I don't know if that's been said in the billiondy or so pages of this thread, but it's what stuck out most to me. I was just floored.

I had to stop playing the Demo. Not because of anyting going on with it, because i want to play with Rutgers....and i can't. Plus i don't want to get burnt out. I'l probably come back to it a day or two before release to get a feel of the differences with the Demo and retail.

Here is why I think this might just be a demo problem: The demo has smaller depth charts than in the retail game and it seemed like fatigue was ramped up (due to the 2 min quarters) because after 2 or so plays my HB would be in the yellow. I doubt I'd even notice this over the course of the game, but it would be odd to see a CB break away for a long TD catch every once in awhile.

Played the demo for the first time last night. I'm not sure how I feel about the play calling being the same setup as Madden, as I wasn't a big fan of how Madden's worked. Seems like a pain trying to put in different packages.

Also, I played Oklahoma vs Texas, and for some reason my QB was returning kickoffs and my punter was in as a special teams coverage guy. I checked the depth charts and everything looked fine. I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this and hopefully it's just a demo glitch.

I saw something SWEET when playing the other night. My room mate from college come in last week and was playing the demo while I was watching, and he was playing with Florida against the Noles. CPU was playing VERY aggressive, because my friend would score fast, but instead of the CPU just running the ball 3 times and then punting, they were scrambling with Ponder, passing all over the place, etc. VERY aggressive play calling, and they'd drive right down the field on him each time (on AA). Anyways, Ponder through this pass to his WR on a drag across the middle coming from the left going to the right. The guy caught it in stride, and then started to cut up field. My friend brought his safety up and kinda paused/hesitated infront of the defender (since he was the last line of defense) instead of going for the big hit, and the wide receiver did something I've never seen in any football game before. The wide receiver stopped, and did the head juke thing left to right, to try and fake his safety out, and then shuffled his feet to the side, juked past the safety and took it to the house. We both stopped and was like DAMN that was sick! Looked so real. I am impressed with what I am seeing from EA this year, I can't wait to delve deep into it!

Why do we always get a replay of the extra point?

# 1710 pjmoore 28 @ 07/01/10 05:00 PM
the same reason that the play of the game is the last play done in the game. EA wants us to hate them and then love them when the retail comes out.

Only on the xbox. It's usually a replay of the score so I hope this won't be the case when the game hits the shelf!

BEST DEMO EVER IMO

This is fixed in the retail version.

the only real problem that i have with the demo...and i thought this was in the game...is that there does not seem to be any pro-tak. just seems like when `1 tackler engages everyone else just bounces off of the play....i see the attempt to make the tackle but they just bounce off...its really annoying...

so is pro-tak in the game or not?

outside of that i think the game plays pretty realistic on Varisty atleast...AA's not too bad either...Heisman...gets no love

This is IMO the best way to play defense offline vs the CPU

This is as fair as you can get and it really challenges you to call the right defensive plays.

My have to boost up the tackle slider to see if that helps to alleviate some of the problem

and i agree Varsity level is going to be alot of fun once we can alter the sliders and game play speed option

I need to give it a try. I usually pick one guy (MLB typically) on defense and don't switch. Player lock flips the camera to and over-the-shoulder view, correct?

YES. I completely agree, and was really disappointed. There seems to be some gang tackles, but it doesn't seem to be the dynamic gang tackling like in Madden '10.

One thing that I hope I'm missing in the demo....wheres the on-the-fly subs. I like how in Madden , you are able to throw in a backup or a situational player directly from the playcalling screen. Is this available in NCAA?

I've seen some nice QB evade animations in the last few games. Jacory Harris managed to escape an oncoming OSU DE with a nice side-step and use of his non-throwing arm to push the defender aside.

I'm really liking the run blocking this year, too.
