The Gators had him playing the "Percy" position during the spring. He'll be working the slot and also playing some RB. Same with WR #4 Debose.

They actually have someone from one of the community sites working on ratings each year. They don't recycle them.

I just played two rounds of the demo (Miami @ Ohio State and Florida and Florida State), and overall I'm not thoroughly impressed.

Is the demo better than last year's offering? Yes.

Is it a complete revitalization of the NCAA series? No.

For me personally, this game felt too familiar to me; like the same been there, done that feeling that has been in the previous editions for me.

When I play this game, I don't feel like I'm actually on the field playing football. This game feels just like another "video game" football game. By "video game" football, I mean that I can play this game using video game logic rather than real life logic. It's the reason why I don't play games such as Halo or Call of Duty. I prefer my games to force me to rely on real world logic to complete objectives. If I can button mash or put little thought into planning to execute what I want to do, then the game loses its appeal to me in the long term.

Once again, improved but I will probably pass again this year.

I really hope that the Spread "No-Huddle" offenses don't snap the ball as fast as they do in the demo. I understand the point of the no-huddle is to speed up the game and keep the defense off-balance, but this snapping the ball as soon as the QB gets under center is wack and unrealistic. All of the offenses in general seem to be snapping the ball way too fast once they break the huddle.

I wish EA would just rip off the kicking meter/format from APF 2K8, that system was so brilliant and pure gold. You were forced to push the analog stick from down to up really fast to get more power on your kicks, but it was so easy to go too far to the left or right while pushing the stick up, resulting in an attempt that missed wide left/right. The current NCAA Football 11 kicking meter is so easy I can do it with my eyes closed, and it takes a lot of the drama away from game winning kicks.

I am really liking the improved blocking this year though, running the ball is as fun for me now as it's ever been playing NCAA Football.

has anyone noticed the inordinate amount of dropped passes in the game?

I really recommend playing on Varsity, as the constant CPU cheating, warp catching, lack of WR seperation, D-Line pass rush, and Human AI oddities that lead to big plays for the CPU are aided GREATLY

I have played NCAA on varsity every year...I feel the ratings matter more at that level, but that's just imo.

Yeah, there should've been some passes my guys should've caught when I was playing. I see what you're saying.

Whomever thought those replay angles were a good idea should be drawn and quartered. I mean really... they are all but useless in their current form. So much so if I do happen to buy the game, I would have to turn replays off, negating a lot of the ESPN presentation.

I have only played 1 game but I had to get the replay thing off my chest. As for actual game play, too early to tell from 1 demo game. I do know a lot of the stat overlays are completely wrong or shown at inappropriate times. I kicked off and Ohio State knelt down in the end zone for a touch back. A drive summary pops up for the OSU showing 0 plays for 0 yards and 0 time used. No duh... On one of my scoring drives, it showed I went 120 yards in 4 plays. Not sure how that was possible.

Graphically, the game looks pretty good. The player models are much better then in years past. Maybe it is just a demo thing but self shadowing leaves a lot to be desired with shadows flickering on and off at random times.

I noticed something that could be instant cheese online. If you run a Wildcat formation and then go No-Huddle and audible to passing plays, your RB can almost always take off for huge yardage after dropping back. I did it and I didn't even realize that it wasn't my QB under center for a few plays (was in scramble mode with no timeouts, lol). Hopefully this is something that can be ironed out in the retail version.

What do you guys think of the auto-sprint feature? I'm actually loving it because it takes me back to when i used to have nhl 10 and just feel comfortable with it.

Allows me to not worry about pulling RT when trying to avoid a defender and just focus on moving the left stick to make all cuts.

Still the CPU/AI is in a rush once again to snap the ball, although I have on occasion seen the CPU/AI fake hike the ball. Whats the point in all these pre-snap audibles on defense If you don't have time to use them. Even in a no huddle Offense the QB doesn't just get under center and snap the ball as quickly as he does here, he will scan the field at least and bark out some orders. Please give the CPU/AI a chew clock to help him with clock management.

Just create a new account on your console. You don't even need to enter an andress or something, just and email (imagine a fake one, you don't need to validate the account via email) and the US as country. You get a month of gold trial and can download the demo. Simply delete the account afterwards or use it for the rest of the month. I did the same because my main account is silver only.

What's up with the animations though? The incredible amount of sliding and warping is really annoying. Can't remember older NCAAs beeing that bad. The transistion from one canned animation to another is done very poorly here.

Create an American PS3 account and download it from there shop. Its what I did, just google an American address to use.

# 1178 Oliver Beyer @ 06/15/10 06:32 PM
You only need a US postal code, the street adress doesn't need to be real. Only the postal code is checked. So maybe 90210 ...

About those replay angles, me thinks they are trying to imitate Backbreaker here. Only that it works Backbreaker and doesn't in NCAA. Those random angles showing a closeup of the RBs behind don't give you much.

I still don't have a sack after playing 12+ games. every time I have a sack the QB throws it away, even from the blind side. Many of those passes were grounding but they aren't called!

Yeah, I just said the same thing a page or two ago. I agree 100%.
