I hope the NBA allows Mike Breen to say 'bang!' because in 2k Kevin Harlan wasn't allowed to say 'right between the eyes'... They said it sounded too violent or some ish like that.

I know a lot of people feel like this but the thing is if you watched any group of announcers do a full 82 games and the playoffs it would get repetitive. There is no way for it not too. The only thing you can hopefor is that each individual game does not have the same lines replaying itself.

To break up the repeition they would need to have more than one group and have scripts that reflect more of what's happening in the current game which if your a team that is constantly getting outrebounding would again lead to repitition.

Having said all that I hear you though...

Nice to see them make the game, now just if 2k could get some real crews too, like say everyone doing TNT games. But this trio as great as they can be, wont save this game.

My bad 23..I didn't read the whole thread b4 responding. That is his line though so you may want to get used to hearing it.lol

I like those 3 as a team even though I got some NBA beef against Jackson(Pulling out a big broom at the spectrum after sweeping Philly and going across the floor with it). Part of me really despises him.

I was making a joke about Mark Jackson but yeah that has been said in here already, so has the worse one, mama there goes that man

In other words his couple of catchphrases are tired long before they get repetetive in the videogame.

Yeah, I understand what you mean. I can't stand Mike Breen.

That is why I said earlier in the thread, "This is terrible news."

Has nothing to do with EA/2K/SCEA/PS3/360/WII/Commodore 64/whatever. For every "fanboy" (as some here say) there is an overly sensitive contingent of "fanboy police", who are quick to mete out a pseudo-justice than only exists in the realm of their own mind.

The logic is faulty. Person A doesn't like the move, therefore Person A must be a fanboy. Please.

I mean its only right for them to add ESPN Presentation with this.

I think NCAA Basketball 10 was the sacrificial lamb for ESPN presentation, now Elite is gonna go all out with it..

I HOPE

They are certainly trying. The only limitation will be time. Ryan Santos is on the ball this year. If you know anything about this guy's attention to detail, then you'd know he's a hoops head who loves the game.

He was getting giddy like the rest of us community day members when we were talking about the possibility. If he can implement the minor change we talked about to the game's presentation it will go a LONG way to keeping Elite fresh throughout the year.

I really made sure he understood the importance of variety and he gets it. I'm hoping gone are the days of the predictable intros that have long been a staple in the Live series. You know what I'm referring to: shot of the stadium, shot of a player, player specific pre-game routine, walking around giving each other five, jump ball... every single game, and in that order. With just the minor change we talked about... it could make a huge difference.

You guys have no idea how much work we put into making sure this game becomes what we all want to see. I wish I had the time to sit there and help develop the presentation routine with him... So many things I'd love to get in that would equal what you see on TV.

You say this now... wait until you hear it.
Uh, oh. I just wet my pants *walks over and puts Live 10 back in to "replay" last night's game and imagine he's playing Elite 11*.

The thing that bothers me the most about the commentary in all sports games is when they have them record lines that seem to be tutorial or even "meta" in nature.

Comments that seem to be directed to the USER, and not just a "naturally occurring statement about the game.

Instead of just: "Mbenga with the ill advised shot", or "What is Mbenga thinking?"

They'll have them say: "You don't expect that shot from him, because he is a poor long range shooter"(Hint, Hint)

Let the guys say what they would normally say, instead of trying to teach the USER in-game lessons.

All the various development teams do seem to be getting better at doing this.

LOL, its funny you say that because yesterday i put in Live 10 and was acting like i was using the new analog controls, it actually did feel right even tho i wasn't actually shooting with it.

But i could imagine, and the way sometimes pushing the stick up i would push left or right a lil bit sometimes.

YES seems like we will get the ESPN presentation its only right when u have the whole ESPN NBA announcing crew.....lmao@"MAMA THERE GOES THAT MAN"....what if they have like replays during the timeout before they go to commercial and mark jackson comes out of nowhere with it.....I can see it now.

# 96 BDM313 @ 06/09/10 07:45 PM
oh yeah..."hand down...man down"...LMAO

# 97 13 @ 06/09/10 07:52 PM
I could put up with a "Mama there goes that man!" or "Hand down, man down!" every once in a while if it means Van Gundy and Breen are in it.

I hope starting lineups (at least with NBA Finals atmosphere) was one of those things.

I aboslutely love Mike Breen....after Doug Collins and Kevin Harlan there isn't anyone better IMO in terms of adding excitement/emotion to an NBA game telecast

Too bad i still have my doubts about the actual game play itself.....

It would be really cool if they could still have Marv Albert in the game like for a thursday night matchup to mix things up a bit and add veriety.
