Yeah? Just curious why you say that. Since it clearly is a lot tougher to read a defense and pass/run.

I've had good success passing using pretty basic logic. I haven't had much success with pre-snap reads. Post-snap has been fun.
It helps me shift through the receivers faster. Don't ask me why this is.

Ive been playing video game football for all my life, Remember 10 yard fight. Any way Pre Demo I was like this camera idea is going to Suck D****. I wasn't going to give it a chance. After reading all the post Im glad I did. At first it was hard especially passing game. After hours of play the passing game just slowed down, I can change who my primary receiver can read the Defense better and make some good decisions back in the pocket. Its like when a rookie goes into the Nfl, everyone is running at Mach speed and you can do nothing, then all of a sudden it all slows down. This game is fantastic and lots of fun to play. Is the camera perfect... NO... but I love it now makes the game feel so intense. My only issues is this demo is setting me up for failure. Why.. because this game feels like it slanted towards the user to make us feel like were doing something. I bet in the finally game its a lot harder just like in the EA demos, its easy in the Demos but the finally game has a little toughness to it. Im pissed now because I really wanted to get NCAA11 but this game is making it hard for me.

Just played 2 more today, Spartans vs Talons and then Talons vs Spartans. Got the hang of the game now. As the Spartans on Medium I went 6/7 passing with 99 yards in the air, defense clicked and we got 28 to 0 win. It's all the timing, all about the timing, you have to know the route throw on the cuts. Sweet. As the Talons I won 21 to 0. This time getting 58 in the and 68 on the ground. Broke a sweet counter for 40 of those, man I am buying this game, can't wait for the retail to it. I'm used to the camera now and understand how the switching works on D. you have to use the left trigger to focus on the ball at all times - they should make this focus just the way it is always on D. When the ball goes up click A to switch - interception if you man is in position, can't say enough about calling the proper plays and knowing the flow of the game. Goos stuff

Hadn't tried showboating in Tackle Alley to build more points. Pretty funny to see yourself get wiped out while showing off. I love how the tackles can be so brutal w/o being over the top

Is it just me, or is the same button used for intercepting passes and switching players? If so, oy vey.

I've been playing pro / medium and INTing passes with no button pressing. I just get my guy in position and he'll automatically go for an INT or swat.

This. There isn't a button for that, the players just try to do it if you get into position.

I just wanted to chime in and say that I downloaded the demo Friday afternoon and haven't been able to stop playing! Is the game perfect? Definitely no. It has a lot of room for improvement, but I really like what I'm seeing. My passing game is either hit or miss. I either tend to take a lot of sacks and throw a lot of INTs or I'm hitting my receivers in stride. Sometimes I can run the ball for short gains, but I lose yards a lot as well. Pitches or runs outside are very difficult to achieve as the D seems to be too fast on the pursuit.

I think the game's learning curve, and the fact that I feel directly responsible for my success or failure is huge. As someone said earlier, easy to pick up but hard to master. This alone keeps me coming back to the demo again and again, and I can't wait to pick up the game on June 1st!

With that being said, there are a few things that I find annoying but aren't deal breakers, but the one thing that sticks out in my mind:

Anyone else frustrated by the fact that when you're playing D and you're away from the play, when a QB throws an incompletion it will say "NO GAIN"?
In my mind, anytime a QB throws incomplete it should say "INCOMPLETE" instead of "NO GAIN", which to me implies a run was stuffed at the line. I think it's the little stuff like this that the developers, being a UK company, are missing; the little nuances of football that the average joe might not realize, but those of us that are devoted watchers appreciate.

I do appreciate the fact that late in the game you don't have to spam the A button to get back to the menu to call a timeout. Once the whistle blows you will be able to check out the replay without worrying that you're losing precious clock until you get back to the play calling menu. It's quite nice, actually.

Thoughts?

Positioning is what intercepts passes, not the A button.

I am playing on hard and you really learn about your teams this way. Oakland has nasty D, and can man up with Indy and force picks. But their QB is awful and their Oline is not that hot. So it seems like you need to run run run with those guys. If they had a better QB, that would be a scary team.

I'm hoping to brush up on my running game. I was wanting to practice with Oakland, as they have a solid RB, according to the demo guide, but what you're telling me is their O-line is questionable. I'm hoping that if I practice enough with a decent RB I'll learn how to best run the ball and get away from relying on my passing game so much, especially with a sub-par QB.

At that point, you have a game where people glitch and come up with ways to cheat the system, since it is basically boiling down to who can nano blitz the most. Not really my idea of fun.
You must not have paid attention to the defense if you don't see how easy it is to blitz in this game.

It's easy to blitz the AI right now. I prefer to play online, so I am not too worried. If that is the only complaint about the cam angle, then I think it's a success.

Well, I've been playing since Friday night and impressed. For a first time developer from across the water making a America sports games it's pretty darn good. I know the demo is dumbed down but I actually like it. I am enjoying the camera. To me it seems imersive. This without a doubt a day one purchases. I just wish they had fatigue and definately injuries. Maybe next time.

The camera isn't even close to being the only problem with the game and it doesn't make sense to me how you think being able to blitz will somehow be harder if you play online. The computer is still controlling the offensive line.

I saw in one of the menus that A was the "Action Button." Weird. I'd prefer to have the choice to go for pick or swat, personally.

cool.. Well don't buy it and enjoy another football game then. It has not been as big of an issue for many others so far. There is no reason that after dealing with Nanos for years, that we can not figure out how to handle a blitz in BB.

I'm not going to argue with someone who clearly is not even into this game. Seems pointless.

# 659 jmood88 @ 05/23/10 02:49 PM
Funny that you claim that being able to easily blitz isn't fun but in this game where it's easy to blitz it's not an issue.

I Tried the Backbreaker demo, and well it's been since deleted.

The one positive is running the ball, that just feels right.
