"Share the Demo With Friends and Earn Experience Points

May 18, 2010 – The Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11 demo is now available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3! The demo invites you to participate in a fully customizable Ryder Cup match that includes three holes on Celtic Manor, the home course of the 2010 Ryder Cup. Share the demo with those on your friends list, via Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network, to earn in-game Experience Points (XP).

Using the console messaging system, you can earn in-game XP for each invited friend and additional XP for each invited friend that downloads the demo. The XP can be applied to the full version of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11, when it launches on June 8th (North America) and July 2nd (Worldwide) to help boost your golfer’s skill attributes.

In addition to the Ryder Cup feature, the demo will include the ability to play three holes on the all-new Liberty National golf course. As you hit the links, the all-new Shot Focus system allows players to make shot to shot decisions and offers a bit more risk/reward style of play. Shot Focus is used to provide that extra boost to the ball off the tee, increased spin during flight, the accuracy of your shot and most importantly putt previews. Once your Shot Focus has been depleted you will lose the advantage of those shot enhancements until it recharges.

The Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11 demo will also introduce True Aim – a new feature that brings a more authentic style of play and immersion onto the golf course. Traditional aiming methods have been replaced with yardage markers showing carry distance, and distance to targets. It’s up to you to select the right club and execute your shot. Just like in real life, once the ball leaves the club face it’s on its own.

The more I see from EA Sports on the newest upgrades to the motion controller swing styles for the Wii, the more I see them tying it to the "True View" experience. It would seem illogical to me for them to have such a drastic presentation mode difference from one console to another (one locked in True Aim or Presentation camera, while the other has the more dynamic True View camera), for the same fundamental interface mode.

I now think part of this "bigger" E3 announcement will likely introduce that True View will be part of the Move update. The reason it hasn't been mentioned to date is they were still working on it and getting it operational b before announcing it publicly.

I would love to see such an announcement, but EA's announcement from April, that they would not be supporting Natal with this year's Tiger sounded pretty final to me. I'm about ready to buy a PS3 to play this year's version on, I might feel a bit mislead if I bought a PS3, based on the notion that it would be the only high-def console on which I could use a motion controller and true view.

Can anyone else not see where the pin is on the green on approach shots? It doesn't show up and was wondering if that's part of the game. If so that is the dumbest thing ever. Thanks

Using True Aim, the pin is the marker that is "yellow", whereas the others are white. Not sure why they didn't leave the pin in the hole for this.

Played this thing for a good amount of time today, and I will say I was very impressed with the improvements from last year. First thing that is a sight for sore eyes, are the pre and post shot animations.

In TW10, they were pretty atrocious. But now you actually see the pro golfers make realistic motions after missing or hitting a put. I was playing with Tiger and sunk a 40 footer, and the reaction was great. So they get a standing applause from me for making the game a little more realistic.

True Aim I'm not sold on yet. I don't particularly like the post shot view. You can play without using zoom, and get pretty much the same effect as true aim, but still keep the nice presentation post shot cam, which I like. I always played without zoom anyway in TW10, cuz I'm a sim nut.

AI golfers have been thankfully fixed from last year from what I can tell. Last year, every golfer in the game would make every putt under about 20 feet. In 11, I've seen a bunch of misses that would have never happened in 10--thank God. Also seen some missed fairways, which you rarely saw in 10. I did notice every pro seemed to play the par 5 on Celtic Manor pretty easily, but my sample size isn't sufficient to criticize.

All in all, they fixed two major gripes I had from last year--animations, and AI play, so I'm stoked. They've also added Ryder Cup obviously, which looks pretty awesome. Not too happy with all the recycled courses, but what can you do.

I haven't noticed this because I turn the shot animations off everytime I play. I got so used to playing with them turned off in TW 10, that I just instinctively turn them off every time I play the demo. I found the past animations ridiculous, but I honestly turned them off more in the interest of speeding up the pace of the game, particularly when I was playing with AI's.

I would be a lot happier with the True Aim presentation if I had the option to switch to a cutview, as seen in the Wii version when using True View. I'd actually like to see about the final 20% of travel from a downrange cut-view camera.

I was okay with the presentation camera in TW 10, but I would prefer to see more of the shot from the golfer's perspective, prior to switching to another view.

Could you guys give me any advice on which system to get it for, the PS3 or 360?

Ok, thanks for the heads up, Ij ust canceled my Amazon order and put in for PS3 version. I had $10 off from my last game and with the $20 gift code it will make my Tiger end up costing $30. Pretty good!

Yep. I was between Wii or PS3 and decided to go PS3

Dave if you see this, how many tournaments are in each season and do we know if some of the courses change each year?

Dave - Is there any fall foliage in the game finally? Been waiting for that since the Links on the PC days..

The one thing that killed TW10 for me was the horrible AI scores in Tournament play. I was seeing 25-30 under winning at Torrey Pines.

The online tournaments? Forget it. People jacking up their golfer's skills to be able to shoot 30 under is just asinine.

Does anyone know if this has been resolved for TW11 because I really liked the demo.

No word yet that I've seen. It remains the 800 pound gorilla in the room since if it hasn't been fixed season mode is still BROKEN.

I was playing TW07 on the PC lately to get myself in the mood for this game and the AI scoring was perfect. No rubberbanding and winning scores averaged between -10 to -15 and once in a while you would get a winning score of -7 or -22.

Obviously the PC game was more of a sim game so they didn't need to give us arcade scores but the refusal by the current console developers to simply give us a scoring slider to be adjusted at the gamer's desire is ridiculously unacceptable and simply a game killer for me.
I just finished creating my golfer but I'm willing to give this a try but I'm curious will I be able to test this on say Pro Level or below? My golfer in his current state won't even be competitive. Lol!!!

Somebody chime in and let me know what to do. Thanks

In order to test you cant worry about your score, we are interested in the A.I. scores. Thanks
