as a ball carrier, A button is to switch the ball between your right and left hand.

So aggressive mode on defense while attempting to make a tackle is just a better hit stick it sounds like?

That's basically the idea I think. They weren't specific on how many right stick moves there were, but I expect aggessive mode would be more for going for the big hit with the stick allowing you to choose what level to aim for while agile mode will probably be where you would find the more solid wrap tackles and the strip ball controls.

Sure it has great animations, but there's no reason for players feet to be going through the field. It's the same thing that happens in Madden. It's something that doesn't happen in 2K's games. I don't understand how they could build a new game from scratch and not have the feet planting properly on the field. I noticed the feet warping at normal speed, which means it's visible enough to be noticeable and affect the immersion and overall animation quality.

The only I don't like is the juking. It's jaring compared to the other moves, the rb just kind of stops on a dime and jumps completely perpendicular to his previous direction. Not even Barry Sanders in his prime could do it like that, even he had to slow down a bit before making a jump cut.

I really liked what I saw in the video.

I feel like they are putting the controls of the runner into our hands, and we truly decide what we want to execute.

I also like the way they mapped it out. I will for sure give this game a chance.

Good stuff! I Really like the blocking , as the release gets closer , they're doing a better job of showing us what this game is capable of. Impressive.

The rest of that sequence is really poor too actually the way all the guys we can see just pivot to the nearest defender (even if they're behind them) to start blocking them.

Looks pretty cool overall, just over 3 weeks until release, demo can't get here quick enough.
Youre kidding right?

No disrespect but their feet got tangled during the block..watch it again.. Thats how detailed and physics based this really is!!

Its impressive, no doubt.. These brits have hit on something.. taking a scientific program for testing physical movements of animals and applying it to a football game??? BRILLIANT!!

If that same play happens in ncaa 10 or Madden 10, their legs would pass right thru each other with no effect..( we ALL know this)

I watch this video looking for non-reactions and i can't find one.. I can't see a spot when two players collide big or small with no physical reaction..pretty realistic ..

One knock is that i don't like the running animations, they don't take full strides, they take small choppy steps, looks wrong..either that or their legs are moving too fast?

# 111 blackscorpion11 @ 05/10/10 10:25 PM
Ball carriers look as big as the defenders??

# 112 blackscorpion11 @ 05/10/10 10:31 PM
Notice they got a commentator with no british accent to explain the video,

hmmm

Yes, this has been gone over in the thread, as you surely got to sometime during your 5 straight replies (there's a multiquote btw). The amazing physics appear to allow him to get his foot stepped on, as the runner then clips through his leg from the bottom of his foot to almost his knee with the center of his foot.

It's very debatable whether any clipping actually occurs or if it's just from the angle of the play. I'll just say I disagree with your assessment and several others have as well.

That said, I still don't get how you simply shrug off a dude getting his foot stepped on and getting tripped! No one can deny that happened and no canned animation game has ever had anything but clipping occur in that situation before.

Actually I'm the first person in the thread that suggested that as the reason for why he fell down, and added (which is awesome) after it.

I also posted this picture... which people apparently still don't see clipping in (runner's left foot), or blame the camera view.

# 116 Blzer @ 05/10/10 11:26 PM
There have been plenty of videos to show clipping, this isn't the first. At least it shall be minimal.

I'll have to go back and look for the feet interaction. Clipping with players, that's expected. Clipping with the field. Um, no. There's absolutely no excuse for it. That needs to be fixed.

This game may very well suck. But from what I've seen thus far, it looks much better than anything I've seen from EA in the last few years.

So color me excited for BB--flaws and all, becasue it's the only football game I'm getting this year.

As opposed to Madden NFL 11's and NCAA 11's or are you basing that off of real life people running down field? The running looks a little stiff, but they players move realistically.

# 120 noplace @ 05/11/10 01:26 AM
Man they could do soooo much with this engine. I cant stand the player models but thats about it.
