Cowboys numbers are accurate. Though the players the NES version have listed, don't match up with the 1993 rosters I pulled up from online. For example, Cowboys had 3 QBs, and Jason Garrett was one of them (if it's the 93-94 season), but there's only 2 spots for a QB.

It's as expected. Easy at start, and progressively harder as you win more games.

I can get past the helmets. But not the colors. I don't understand why this isn't in the game, when it was in the DS version of the game. Doesn't make any sense...

I checked my hard drive memory and noticed that there is a "saved" file that is separate from the game. Not sure, but is there any chance those are the rosters? Or is that everything that is saved?

Reason being, if those are rosters then a file might be shared via Xport (which is what I use) and also using the Microsoft transfer cable (I purchased the 120 gb some time back). I'm guessing the answer is probably no, but I thought it might be worth asking.
The save file appears to be your season stat file, not the Roster file. If there is a roster file there, they are hiding it, or it's being saved somewhere else.

Would be awesome if someone could find it, edit it, and give us real teams, if only for offline play. I'd pay $$$ for it.

Looks like the same speed as the SNES version to me.

Agreed. It doesn't have that umph the original game had to it.

That's just the way the game plays. They would do that even in the original game.

Who let the Madden gameplay developers work on the game? Dang 30 feet jumping LBs making INTS!!! That feels pretty much like the original. Just got to get used to what you can get away with in the game again.

I like the cut scenes. They look like the original Tecmo, but since they are 3D, they are in motion. It's a very nice touch. It's not a sim, so the model sizes aren't as relevant.

When playing offline, if you hit the LB (think that's it, or RB), it will actually shift from 3D to 2D in real time. It's slick.

*It seems like, if you hit a running back right when he touches the whiteline of the goaline, he'll fumble. I've pulled this off several times now.
Well you just took the excitement of getting my first safety + fumble + TD away!

What system are you guys organizing a ladder for?

The SNES link for Roster files is dead on in all my tests thus far --> http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/file/588774/41237

You can basically select a team, and go down player by player and modify them to match the team. That way you don't have to worry about if you are editing the right player or not. Can't remember who provided the link to the file originally, but thanks for posting it!

I wish you could see your record for online play.

Have no idea why they would not include Win/Loss records

Creatine, I'm still up for the ladder. I basically downloaded the demo, and then when I finished my first quarter I basically threw up my hands and offered my money to the Tecmo gods.
Sounds good. I'll create it tomorrow. Let me keep playing games here and get a good feel for the game so I can come up with a good set of rules. Basically, what I'm thinking right now is the only rule being you can't control a defensive lineman. Also, I'm thinking quits will cost negative points to deter it from happening (don't think it'll be a problem here though).

Anyway, I'll have something preliminary set up tomorrow.

I just verified that if you change the team/players names, it will be effective in a running season. So you can start a season, and change players names / teams as you go along. No need to get it all in at once now!

This isn't the game I remember playing. Okoye and Bo just don't play right. I guess this isn't the nintendo version. I wanted to bring back my childhood memories of chucking 5 or 6 dudes with Okoye or turning on the jets with Bo.

What a disappointment.

It's the SNES version, with rosters from a few years later than the Nintendo original. There is no Bo (or fake equivalent), and I'm not sure about Okoye.

Okoye is in the game.

Bo Jackson is not.

That's from the Tecmo Bowl Kickoff Review. Why'd the nerf the 360 version if they were able to do it in the DSi?

i haven't started a season...i've only edited rosters and played two pre-season games. i'm wondering if this is my roster saves... and if so, they might be able to be shared. just poking around today i've already edited 5 teams. keypad is a HUGE help...

Well... I went undefeated in my first day of Tecmo lol. I guess all those hours of playing TSB as a kid didn't completely go to waste! Who would've thunk that all those little tricks I learned 10 years ago now prove useful?

I ran into only 1 NG glitcher. I ran 1 under center pass to make sure it's possible. It definitely is. I still beat him, but I had to call my single shotgun pass, my playaction pass, or run plays. He did exactly what I expected: called run plays and ran NG dives. Fortunately he had no skill on offense and didn't stand a chance. Still, a good player could use the NG dive real well unfortunately. It'd render some playbooks completely useless.
