I'm doing authentic NFL everything myself. I can get past the colors... I've played enough APF to have that kind of stuff not bug me anymore.

I'll start accepting victims around 4 pm EST ideally.

Same here, Colors are not a big deal for me. Already named the Chargers. Game is a blast.

I was thinking of doing the current NFL, rookies and all. I wish there was some type of file sharing.

Yep, having played APF for a long time now I don't give a flip about uni's anymore.

The real question I have is: Analog or D-pad? I can't seem to tell which is better for the game.

Tried the trial game and won 7-0 (only one quarter)

I thought it was really good! I may buy it on a later date. I never played back in the day, but saw vids and know what's up. My game was actually way more sim that I expected although I don't care about realism for this title it was just funny to me how mixing up my plays worked.

I like the slower gameplay for the 3d view and crisper visuals. Very solid xbla release.

Analog seems better to me.

Got two games in... man does this bring back memories!!

I checked my hard drive memory and noticed that there is a "saved" file that is separate from the game. Not sure, but is there any chance those are the rosters? Or is that everything that is saved?

Reason being, if those are rosters then a file might be shared via Xport (which is what I use) and also using the Microsoft transfer cable (I purchased the 120 gb some time back). I'm guessing the answer is probably no, but I thought it might be worth asking.

I have the keypad and I logged Pittsburgh's roster in and also just put in the Browns skilled position players... And then I proceeded to beat them!!!!

But this game is a lot of fun! I'm kinda disappointed in the jerseys being all screwed up, but I can live with that. When you get the names in it kinda takes the sting off...

I knew you couldn't change team colors. Even the DS version let you do it. Pass for me.

I'm itching to get home and play this. 2 quarters today was not enough. It will hold my interest long enough until RDR and UFC comes out.

How's online play?

Actually, it is possible. People have hacked the TSB (NES) a couple years ago and added 4 teams to make it 32. Before it was a matter of sacrificing a team...but no more.

I love it. I'm not going to change the names to the 1993 NFL rosters; I'm just going to get used to the new names and think of it has a brand new and a heck of a fun tecmo league. QB #1 Haffey for the Houston .. flame things is gonna light it up with that run and shoot playbook.

Btw, what are the team nicknames? I don't see them on any of the team data screens.

For any who were fans of Tecmo back in the day this is a can't miss.

I've seen one person answer it, but with all the people who have it now I'd like a little more confirmation:

Is the Nosetackle dive dead?

*There is a strange glitch where you drop back, no one is pressuring you, but for some reason you can't move or throw and you're almost certain to get sacked.

*Passes come out slow, and get to the spots slow. Overall, everything feels kind of slow. I think it has to do with the character frame speeds. They don't seem to move as quickly as the old 2D versions.

*The music is not too good. I would've liked a mix of the NES and original Genesis version. And speaking of music, the music for certain events in the game is just not as good as the old versions. They really didn't do a good job with this part at all. I'm not sure why the music plays through playcall now either.

*When you fall, sometimes the recovery time seems to take too long. Might be a glitch.

*Sometimes the wrong cut scene plays. They'll show a scene of a WR diving for a pass when he didn't actually dive.

*The CPU often calls a sack or a tackle even before it's been made.

*INT's happen even when the defender is not directly in front of the pass. Sometimes he's so far off it's ridiculous, yet he still gets the pick.

*When players lock up, there is no real struggle animation. It would've been very easy to create a few frames of struggle like the old Tecmo Bowl games had. It just feels like you're trying to get away from a magnet instead of trying to struggle to break a tackle. The struggle animation of breaking and making tackles was a nice part of the old Tecmo Bowl games.

*The player models in cut scenes look like the models from BCFX. Models closer to the original Tecmo Super Bowl would've been perfect.

*When you get tackled, the way you fall, lol... it just looks like you slipped on ice and busted your butt in front of a group of laughing people. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think it all was animated better by the original group in 2D.

*Speaking of 2D, they really could've saved a HUGE amount of memory by simply making 3D-to-2D conversions of all of their models and animations. The user would never be able to tell the difference. I see this done all the time with smaller indie games. With the memory savings, we might've been able to get the customization we needed.

*Not being able to edit player ratings offline is a terrible thing. My guess is that some of the customization options we wanted had to be held back due to the size constraints XBLA puts on games. I know with Community games the limit is 150 MB's. Tecmo Bowl Throwback happens to be 150 MB's, so putting two+two together it seems to be the reason as deeper customization would've required more memory.

The 'strange glitch' might be the QB slipping in rain or snow. That does happen. If it happened in clear weather...it's a glitch.

It was clear weather. But even then it didn't look like a slip, the guy was just sort of stepping in place. He couldn't move at all, he was just stuck completely.

In another instance, the QB's arm was throwing forward during the situation, but the ball never came out.

Ohhh. Was this during 3d or 2d graphical setting?
