NCAA Football 11 News Post

EA Sports has just posted another NCAA Football 11 blog. This one covers the ESPN integration.

Quote:
"Hey everyone, this is Greg Heddlesten and I’m a Designer for the NCAA® Football 11 team here at Tiburon. My main area of ownership is presentation and, as Roy mentioned in his previous blog, when we began work on NCAA 11 it was very important for us bring even more authenticity to the product and continue to blur the line between real life and the game. One of our first goals for this year’s title was to give our in-game presentation an upgrade with the audio and visuals of ESPN College Football.

Previously, we had only gotten our feet wet with ESPN integration by implementing the ESPN SportsCenter updates and the news ticker. But everyone here, as well as everyone on the forums, felt that the ESPN experience just wasn’t complete without the ESPN College Football theme music and the in-game visuals and presentation. We all got our first taste of what an ESPN style broadcast could bring to our college sports products in NCAA® Basketball 10. The excitement, imagery, and sounds they were able to implement gave their game an entirely new vibe. With that in mind, it was time for us to dive in and really give our in-game presentation a new coat of paint with the help of ESPN.

One of the cool things about working with ESPN on the visual side was we were able to see the new graphics package they were going to roll out in 2010 before everyone else. The general public got one of their first glances of this new visual style during the Bowl Season this past winter. It was really important for us to have the graphics in the game match what you would be seeing during the College Football season this year. The reference provided by ESPN really helped our artists replicate the look and UI animations you’ll see on television and help us continue to blur the line between NCAA Football 11 and watching a broadcast of ESPN College Football. So, without further delay, let’s take a closer look at what’s to come!"

Yes this is definitely what the game needs. I hope they also incorperate the camera work from ESPN as well. With the graphics this year, the game could really come off amazing.

When I saw the QB was 23 of 37 all I could think was... YES!!! If that's the CPU QB then the game-play appears to be tuned perfectly from the little info we have received.

He also mentioned an upgrade w/ the audio... and that he can't wait to show us the next major presentation... fingers crossed it's broadcast teams... as in two or three teams with all new in-game audio!!!

Yes I agree. So long as NCAA crew does everything right. This could be very big stepping stone NCAA football serias. My question is if they do mange to get this just right before the game ships and all. I just wonder how right now Ian and Phil and the rest of the crew is going to top this for their presention. Because this is what madden fans have been wanting in madden for years. But have yet to get it. But now that NCAA football 11 has it. I'm just wondering what Ian has up his sleeves for out doing NCAA presention this year?? But it looks like NCAA DEV crew has really out done themselves this year. So long as they can mange to get things right in the presention. Then it will be the best ever.

WOAH! I love the ESPN Magazine thing...I always was very fond of Sports Illustrated in the last gen NCAA games. This is awesome! Now the only question I have left about presentation is who the commentators are...

Thats why they are using Madden debuggin tool aswell to fix the gameplay. And also thats why they implanted the new locomotion engine in this year to help out big time. If you had been reading the earlier blogs they had put out. You would see they are focus more on gameplay this year more then ever. That goes for both NCAA DEV team and Madden team. Gameplay is going to be a lot better this year with the locomotion in there and with them using the debuggin tool to fix the problems with the catching game. But I do know how you feel. I want to see some live video clips now like the rest of you do. We will get videos soon enough.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I interpreted, "You can now filter ESPN news articles by you favorite Sports, Conferences and Teams" as ESPN the Magazine. Thats just how I saw it.

Also, the quote, "I cant wait to show you guys our next major presentation update." has me intrigued. College Gameday? Team Entrances? Man I'm stoked!
