With my luck I would finally get the RROD on my 360 just as the last pitch is thrown, lol.

This is just a marketing scam. There will be no winner. Its sad that 2k has to stoop to these type of gimmicks to try and sell their product.

Who assures us that the game is not scripted? I'm afraid this game mode might become dangerously addicting for some....

Hell, I may buy the game just for this shot lol.

But here's a stupid question: Unless it shows up in trophy/achievement form, what says that people who get the game earlier than the release date don't get the perfect game before midnight on March 2nd? Obviously timestamps aren't too easy to look at on a DVD from a digital fingerprint.

The only thing I can see is if MLB Today rosters are updated at that time or if the mode isn't playable till then. Otherwise, some people may have a few days beforehand to try this out and then just claim that they won an hour after midnight or so.

Speaking of which, is this all based on the first person that sends in a DVD, or is this like BINGO! ? Like, maybe the first person that claims it gets precedence on getting their DVD examined first, whether they check theirs first, you know? So if I call BINGO! before somebody else, but someone else get their DVD sent in first, who gets the prize?

So who knows... they obviously know something about their game, where it isn't as easy as you would think, to just hand away $1 mil. (Even if it is sponsored money)
Contest is through 5-2-10

Wonder if this forces EB/GS's hand and they have to do a midnight release? If so that means midnight for The Show...

Never seen something like this done before, and sounds like a cool idea

There's an achievement (assuming trophy) for throwing a perfect game.

Hmm, then it makes me wonder what if you accidentally throw one before that?

I hope it also notes what difficulty you played it on, because I know some people that are just great with camera tricks going into the pause menu and coming out without skipping any frames, and changing to Pro difficulty or something.

This is what I fear.

Don't you have to record start from finish?

With a skilled editor it wouldn't matter.

This is weird to me, it seems like saying win "50,000 dollars" or a "100,000" would have the same effect for gamers. But to make it a million? Thats alot of cash.

I hope they know what they are getting into...

if I'm not mistaken the settings are locked. You are playing pre-determined matchups with pre-determined settings. I don't believe there is a way to change them.

And even if there was, you are required to record the entire game and submit it in order to claim the money.

Yeah, what I meant was I'd be taping, and then getting in a groove, then realize the lens cap is on.

Sucks when you have to explain it

LOL

Ah, my mistake. I read that wrong. Looks like I'm having a rough morning as well. lol

Also as someone mentioned, yeah 50k or 100k would do but a million. Damn. They must be really confident that on their default settings it's is very hard to do. Which in a way is not good because a perfect game is very hard to do but not impossible. And putting a million on the line almost makes it seems as a impossible feat.

Well if they can replicate real MLB odds with the game, I think it's something like 1 in 20,000 or something.

You'll probably have to pitch with like Barry Zito against the NY Yankee's or something like that to add to the level of difficulty.

I usually get the game early (before official release date) My luck would be i get a perfecto before the contest starts and won't be able to to during the contest time

I always wondered why companies didn't ever do something so simple as "pre-order our game and get a chance to win it for free." Even if it's one free copy for the entire world, I know some people that will chip in going for that offer.

Do you have to send the video by dvd in the mail? Or could you send it through the web? For instance, if I use a web cam, it would be more trouble to put it on a dvd...
