As soon as I read that they were removing illegal blows from the stun state, I thought "why the hell didn't they just remove them altogether?"

Actually, and I don't have any real proof off of a handful of games, but I think that does happen... not so much the each successive punch being more damaging, but just regular, non-counter punches in succession causing more damage than I remember.

Nah, it doesn't. Fight against a non-controlled 2nd player. If I use George Foreman, there is no reason I shouldn't be able to knock out a Roy Jones after at least 5 left-right hooks where he's not doing any blocking whatsoever.

Ok so I finally got 2 fights in post patch. AMAZING DIFFERENCE. Both fighters were obvious spammers, I knocked the first one out in the 7th round. Makes snese, he spammed and ran outta stamina LOL and I KO'ed his arse.

Next fight, disconnect round 6. He spammed haymakers and lost stamina I imagine. I palyed my typical methodical fight and he quit.

It's all good EA!!!!!

Thank you.

That should happen, but the game was not developed with that philosophy. They want to have big hits land frequently and with a big "wow" factor because many will put the game down if it truly reflects the sport. I'm ok with that. In fact, EA does a good job of balancing the game enough so that if both of you play in a manner that does represent boxing, you are in for a good fight. I know a lot of people will say, "But we have Facebreaker for that stuff," but let's be honest, the overwhelming majority that buy this game want the big knockdowns with funny looking knockouts.

I noticed the same thing last night. The ability to get out of harms way and prevent the constant body shots is a blessing.

How exactly are you doing that? I fought a guy ranked 4th in WC last night and could not get out from his zone.

Not sure why that is. I think maybe reach and speed have something to do with this. I fought 4 fights in WC last night and lost all 4. But it wasn't because of spam, they flat out beat me straight up. It was rather refreshing to lose to good fighters. Allbeit very frustrating to lose 4 stright. LOL

I proceeded to fight a ranked match and KO'ed my opponent in the 5th. Had to go out with a win.

All in all 3-5 (3ko) last night, 3-1 ranked matches, 0-4 WC. But I had more fun then I've had with it in a while.

Same with me last night. I fought one guy who was ranked 4th. He completely destroyed me, but he was spamming. I just can't take out those skilled aggressive guys. I did go with one guy who was ranked around the 40's. His name is II SubZero. I went 10 rounds and he knocked me out in the tenth. He was aggressive, but not too heavy. He later sent me a message, "run B****, run." I replied that he should at least respect me. He claims all I did was run around the ring. I was simply trying to defend myself.

My last fight I went 8 rounds, lost the first four rounds but turned it around. I knocked him out in the 8th. That was very rewarding looking at the cards after the fight. I had to stop there. Those guys in the 100's are just very hard to beat.

I know, there has to be a strategy for taking out the agressive fighters. I just don't know it yet. What kills me is I can't block a haymaker to save my life. That was my demise all last night. I need to practice offline blocking the body. Those big body haymakers just kill me.

AGAIN USE YOUR JAB
Jab does work because it stops them in their tracks. I don't know though that it lowers the stamina like a block does. Relentless, excuse my ignorance, but how do you block to the side they are throwing to? Do you move your body to the side and block? Thanks.

I second this question.

Hey Dave this is my routine against most aggressive body guys.

They tend to sit at range and then come in with a haymaker body hook and then rush you with body hooks, some high here and there and some low.

What I do is I sit at range and as soon as they move forward I throw the jab two or three times to catch them in in the middle of the haymaker. Which cancels the hay and then you will land couple jabs behind it.

Then I bounce away and tend to try and repeat. They will get your routine after a while and start changing up theirs. You got to adapt with them.

If they switch up trying to do the same thing you are doing. Then I start coming in with the rolling head fakes which you can land some huge Counter window shots.

Now if they do get me pinned against the ropes. I tend to just concentrate on just blocking and landing a shot here and there just so the block meter refills. Then when I see a opening I will land the haymaker uppercut to the body. It is quick, lands with force, and looks very close to the head uppercut so they block high more often than not.

Biggest key is stunning the haymaker throwers with jabs. Keep working the jab and always keep them off base with what you are going to do next. Also use the straight often. Good combo is the jab straight combo. Straight does good damage and can rock them back with a good combo.

lol..I hear you. I'll send you a request tonight. I put in two fights today and did good. Won the first, and on the second, I went 10 rounds, knocked him dow twice in the tenth and he still won because of his punch output. He didn't knock me down once.

I find it much easier to block the body standing straight up, no leaning.

DLC got taken down because it froze the game.

You should be able to tell you have the patch by the movement in the game now. A lot better and no more magnet pulling feel when your in close against another boxer.
