I just bought NCAA Basketball 10 for the PS3 today. I've been an avid fan of the football franchise for a while (since '99) but this is the first college basketball game I've bought or even played since the '99 edition for PS one (March Madness '99 or something like that.) Anyway, I only just started dynasty mode, got through the preseason and a few games, then I had to go to work but so far I'm really impressed. I'm a diehard college football fan and I'm really shocked that (IMO) NCAA Basketball 10 is a much better game as far as depth and realism with atmosphere and off-the-court team management elements. Take my opinion for what it's worth though because as I said, this is my first experience with the franchise on a next-gen console.

I'm not goint to lie, I would've preferred a 2k title over this, but I still find this game somewhat addictive and fun. My only gripes are with the recruiting, limited creation of a player and some of the basketball courts that they didn't put any effort into at all (Long Beach St comes to mind).

This game seems to have enough visual and control differences that make it more appeasing to me than NBA Live 10 (which I didn't really care for).

Overall all, I don't love it, but I like it enought to keep playing.

I think that with a patch this game would be GREAT.....they need some more game modes though! Not a bad game....but needs a little tweaking...EA.......C'mon son!!!! Give us a patch!!!!

Well I now own this game for the second time. A buddy of mine bought a 360 yesterday and wanted me to go with him. I was walking around the store and saw one copy of this game left for PS3. I'm burned out on CH2K8 at this point after playing the hell out of it for three months and I've been playing (and enjoying) the demo of NCAA 10 the last week or so. So what the hell I thought, here we go again.

The new sliders and rosters definitely help, as does the fact that this game is a thousand times prettier to look at than 2K8, but the game has many major warts - still I played the damn thing for seven hours yesterday. I decided to just accept the CPU post issue and I block the shot every time - it is what it is. Sometimes it goes out of bounds so the CPU gets the ball back anyway. Sometimes if you jump earlier enough the CPU will do an up-n-under.

The user offense is awesome, floor cam (which is broken in Live -doesn't zoom out on jump shots to see the rim/flight of the ball) is the best camera I've ever seen in a basketball game and a camera that I didn't even try the first time I owned the game because I figured it'd be broken like in Live. The graphics and presentation are way better than 2K8 and dynasty is decent enough.

I guess if you accept this game for what it is then you can really enjoy it. I'm going to sim one year in a dynasty to get a ton of fresh recruits into UConn and just play the BET & the Big Dance and fly through the years to enjoy new recruits and players. I'll also start an all-time roster file that I'll work on over the course of the year since we won't have a college game next winter.

There's enough here to get a lot of entertaining hours out of the game for us college bball diehards.

Funny you're burned out on 2K8; I am hooked on it again myself. Of course, I know you've logged a lot more hours than me in that one.

Is there a Baseline High camera in this game? I like Live's as I max height and zoom all the way out and you get a great view of the floor. Really helps offensively to run the plays correctly.

The PS3 re-rated ones, the popular set.

Yeah it's called Overhead I believe, a little different than Live (more zoomed out I believe) so you'd probably like it. That's what I was using before I switched to Floor.

I must not be doing something right because I downloaded those to my laptop but can't get them to load. wish ea locker wasn't down and I could get them that way.

I just followed the directions in that thread using a flash drive and it worked, real easy to do as well.

Thanks I got it to work.

What's the best roster set for XBOX?

It seems like Deadlycane's is great but it's for the PS3.

Wow, the transfers in dynasty mode are hoooooooooooooooooooorrible.

After I simmed Year 1 with UConn, Marquette has acquired Kris Joseph from Cuse, Anthony McClain from Cinncy and Yarou from Nova.

Three intra-conference transfers! This game apparently has "NBA trade deadline" logic worked into its dynasty mode.

I finally got around to picking this game up the other day. I have to say I like it as far as gameplay. I'm using the community rosters for the 360's. I haven't experienced any freezing yet. I started my Dynasty with Howard University, must say, I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

Recruiting in this game isn't so bad. It's not nearly as in-depth as 2K8 but I like it. There are diamonds in the rough and busts at least. In my four-man recruiting class with UConn the lowest rated incoming kid I had is by far the best of the bunch. He's a 4-star SG who's leading my team in scoring at over 18 ppg.

I don't know if it's just me, but during the recruiting process if the kid has high or highest interest in your school, you are going to get about 99.9% of them (at least in my dynasty's) and you end up signing them within the first 3-5 weeks. In 2k, it wasn't a sure thing you'd get these kids, especially really early on in the recruiting process.

This didn't bug me too much at small schools where you don't have a lot of points, but what I found myself doing (for a challenge at more elite schools) is to go after kids with medium or below interest where you do have to work to get them to sign.

Same here. Really enjoying the game so far and (knocking on wood), haven't had any freezes yet on my 360. Replays do stutter, but I've got the game downloaded to my HDD, so I think that helps keep the game running.

Looking forward to starting up a dynasty once I get the player edits finished. I'm going through and re-rating all the major conferences, turning the Points Inside rating down -60 for everyone and upping 3-pt. by +10 for good 3-pt. shooters. Not sure if I'll do smaller conferences, but mid-major teams will get some love.

When you start up a dynasty it gives you the option of picking different speeds for the ESPN broadcast. Does anyone know what those mean?
