Played my second game on All-Conference. Going to give Varsity a go tomorrow, but I didn't necessarily think All-Conference felt that bad. A few more thoughts.
KU against at Memphis. Memphis full courted the you know what out of me. I turned the ball over a good five times at least.
I maxed out fatigue and FINALLY saw some effect. So, that is a very good sign.
I bumped up fouls to 80 or so and still didn't see many fouls called at all. Will heed the advice of others and bump it up even higher. What I've come to conclusion is that fatigue and fouls play out realistically between 90-100. Below that, you're basically getting an arcade style game.
I freakin' love the post moves with the right stick. Aldrich had a nice little spin move for an easy bucket. Marcus Morris, not so much.
I do think layups need to be upped a little bit, as I'm noticing a lot of missed layups in transition.
Now, for the bad news. The rosters. It's going to be a huge assignment. Just going by KU's roster, no CJ Henry (Xavier's brother) and no Elijah Johnson (Vegas freshman). Instead, there are three crappy walk-ons. That's very disappointing.

I think I'm just going to go ahead and buy this game. Probably because I learned about the late fees I owe blockbuster that I don't want to pay, but also because I'll most likely end up buying it anyway.
Thanks to all the people giving their impressions, it helped me a lot.

Here are my thoughts so far. i have only gotten to play a couple of games. I have been trying to edit things and check things out. I have read all of the impressions so far. Actually while i did that I had the computer play a couple of games of IU vs. Purdue. I got to hear some of the commentary and see a game or two just to check it out.
The good:
The CBS and ESPN presentation/music/overlays really do add a lot and is like im watching the game.
I agree the going to commercial replays and outro for timeouts is cool I hadn't heard about this before today.
Some of the biggest problems I have so far with the game are all little things but boy do they stick out.. Most of them revolve around IU as this is the team I have been using and normally use, but I would guess you would find this with most teams.
When editing names I found that one of their fresh recruits isn't even in the game and he was one of their top recruits out of 6 players, while there are like 3 walk on players in the game. When i do create him or edit a player to him I am unable to edit his class. Although I think my bigger issue is the fact he is left out.
With naming players another issue I have and haven't been able to solve yet is that their names show up on their uniforms. If anyone is familiar with IU they don't have names on jerseys and there are other schools like this too. Is there an option to take the names off the jerseys while still having players named. Also a majority of the Hoosiers names aren't ones that are already in the game. They had a rough year but are still a big program hard to believe they wouldn't try for some accuracy there.
While on accuracy little things like its great they have all the banners in Assembly Hall but they have them out of order it goes from 48 to 53 to 81 to 76 to 87. Also I played a game with Butler and while they had the court correct the actual arena was a generic one. The bulldogs have been a constant top 25 program the last few years including top 10 this year and as stated in the preview or write up of Hinkle fieldhouse have one of the 10 oldest arenas in basketball. Little dissappointed they couldn't work in an arena that actually looked like Butler other then the floor.
The generic schedule in the dynasty is dissappointing as well but I hear that the dynamic update that is supposedly available but wont download will fix that.
While I love the new presentation if i could wish for one thing next year it would be that they take the commentary a step further. If anyone has had a chance to play nba 2k10 yet the way they are constantly talking about either the game or just making small talk about a variety of topics anything from luxury tax to college players coming in after one year or the last time these teams met or a teams last game or upcoming game. i will say commentary wise that is the best i have heard for a sports game. i also like how they promoted upcoming games with overlays and all if they could mix that with what they have done with CBS and ESPN it would be unstoppable.

As on old 2k8 guy I can honestly say I like this game 10x better than Choops 2k8. I was very hesitant to buy the game since the last EA College game I bought was 06. However for me this game was well worth the $65.00
Like everyone said presentation is fantastic, almost perfect! Motion offense is great and overall gameplay I like much better, MHO. I am still getting used to most of the controls but like some have said EA borrowed some of 2k's gameplay controls, like substitutions and such that make it easier to convert.
The only thing I would say I like better about 2k8 than this game is the depth of their dynasty which is/was a given.
My only complaint and it is a big one for me is that Michigan doesn't have their Maize uniforms!! I'm not sure how this happens. They are one of the first schools in the country to have alternate uni's and arguably one of the most famous/popular ones and EA leaves them out of the game. (Unless I'm missing something?) Pretty upsetting! Also, a little smaller issue is they still have Michigan's old floor. Not as big but still a little disappointing.

Hoping that uniforms would be part of a dynamic update. Do all teams have only a home and away uniform, or do some have alternates?

There are a ton of alternates in the game, EA was pretty good with that last year too.
They got Georgia Tech's new unis in, which are the throwbacks to the early 90's. LOVE those unis.

yeah, the dynamic update is a wild card- how nice would it be to tie up some of the little things to really put this game over the top

got the dynamic update to work on 360 finally. it did update to the correct results from last year. but one thing they did do with this one for some reason is change all of the preseason rankings went from being right for this year to the ones just before the tourney last year. also it didn't fix that you have incorrect schedules and can not change them in the first year of a dynasty. still frustrated by that. hopefully by the time the roster gets online they will fix that and can start a proper dynasty.

Well I just took my Bearcats of UC into Tar Heel country and came away with and upset!!!! 45-44. The late game CPU AI was on point I might add.
The only gripe I had was win the CPU would drop it down to one of the bigs on the low block the cpu always took the shot. Not once did it kick it back out and reset. I always new they were gonna shoot, not to happy if this is a trend.
This game has tons of potential!!!!

some asked about ESPN/CBS presentation with a low level team. well.
its partially good.
I picked prarie view a&M to start a mock dynasty and first game up was a home game vs. Idaho.
ESPN overlays and GRAPHICS were present including star watch, and the starting lineups, but you hear the PA guy. No espn commentators. so its partially if not totally nice to see this change of pace.
also dynamic crowds.. gotta love that. the upper levels of this stadium are empty. crowd is terrible.. I love this dynamic sense of atmosphere

now i just quit again and changed the broadcast to cbs sports to see if those same two teams get no commentators.. No commentators in QUICK PLAY for low level vs low level?? WHAT IS THAT ABOUT??? i swear my excitment lied within the dynasty mode concept..

I have found one thing that annoys me.
The "WARM UP THE BUS!" chant can stay. I just don't like that it's sponsored by State Farm.

Played 1 game tonight. Lost. Presentation was great, and the gameplay is definitely better than last year. Minnesota's court is still not right unfortunately (the perimeter is below the court in real life), but I can live with that. Why didn't they put the CPU names in like we asked them to do? It isn't hard to do, and I hope they fix this. Sorry, about complaining about it again, but its a real pet peeve now.
Overall, It seems very solid with improvements and may finally keep me from playing 2K8, but we'll see

I also dont like the fact that they dont have a name database. Never really like the EA COLLEGE title, the name thing I never understood that.

Are any of you guys getting pretty low shooting percentages? I just played a game on varsity with default sliders. I was USC (Cali) at FLA gators and I ended the game with 41% FG and FLA had 42%. Second game in a row where the FG% was pretty low.
