Just played my first game on 10 min halves on all conference. I used USC at UCLA. I must say I am pleasantly surprised. I thought it played much better than the demo. I think I'll try varsity though. I had like an 8 pt lead on UCLA and then they just went on a huge run and beat me by 18! I couldn't hit any shots anymore. Even WIDE open shots were bricking. The game is pretty fun but 2k10 will still be my main bball game.

The little things...
some may not care.. some do.
Big fan of new mexico so i jumped in a rivalry game right away.
the good:
-new uniform set is in. glad to see that
-player likelyness is close enough (two players share the same face so i had to change that right away for my team)
the semi good:
-the court design is right but the paint color is wrong. its okay by me as I live this false reality and have fun.
the bad:
-the opposing teams jerseys are more red than maroon. they should be almost dark burgandy.. attention to detail is missing in some respects
-for the score overlay, both abbreviations show NEW MEX.. Its New Mexico State (NMSU) @ Univ. of New Mexico (UNM). The game doesnt seem to know the true abbr. for some teams
the expected:
-the arena is quite generic. im guessing half the teams have this setup.
that pretty much clears out the cosmetic first impressions.
attention to detail for low mid majors is severely lacking.
quick look at the NEC
-Central Connecticut State still has their old court design from maybe 4 years ago.
-Long Island's Home arena is still listed as Schwartz Center. (they moved into the wellness and athletic center back in 2005)
-a look at other various arenas prove semi accurate designs. its really hit or miss here.
I can take requests if you want those cosmetic questions answered

Anybody been in a tight one yet with Gus calling the game? Does he go nuts?
Just got done playing my first game. I just hit Play Now right out of the box, so 10 minute halves on Varsity.
-Love the atmosphere of the arena. Played as Wisconsin at the Kohl Center and down the stretch the place was going berzerk whenever Iowa went to the line. The camera shook, I could barely hear Gus, just fantastic.
-I couldn't help but smile whenever the CBS music kicked in. Other sports games, the gauntlet has been thrown down. THIS is how you do presentation.
-I noticed different jumper animations when shooting with bigs compared to guards. I think Bohannon and Hughes had the same animation though. That doesn't bother me, but I could see how it would annoy other people.
-Have to increase the half length. I know it's Big 10 basketball, so it should be very low scoring, but 41 shouldn't win you a game.
-Motion offense is b.e.a.u.tiful. Runs so smoothly, really helps to get open looks too.
-Steal button seems to have a bit of lag to it. Probably so I can't mash it all game, but still.
-If I try to use the shot stick for a dunk again, i'm going to kill something. I'd do it, and then remember, and then watch my guy spin. Not the game's fault at all, i'm just used to 2k10 still.
Overall, the one game I played impressed me a lot. It was the most fun game of basketball i've had in awhile. And really, not enough can be said about the presentation. It's just so fantastic.

Ruben, can you check out a few courts and see how authentic they are? The ones I'm interested in are SIU, Rutgers, Arizona, and Gonzaga. Let me know if you need pictures for references. Thanks man

It also adds to a very collegiate feel to the game. You can't go one on one and iso alot in this game, the players aren't good enough. You have to have a much more team orientated strategy on offense.

references would be great. PM me please
Illinois' court doesnt have the I at midcourt, with the two tone paint. so that pretty much shows the scoop of the attention. alabama state and alabama a&t.. best of luck lol
most arenas will have a nice color balance, so if the design is off, its truly not too offsetting to the eyes, so no true worries. that was the other games biggest burden. logos and what not that didnt match up well. Here, there is a true polish to every arena, accurately designed/colored or not.

If anyone happens to start a dynasty with a mid major or low major team, could they comment on if they had the espn or cbs presentation?
I know in real life, mid majors won't get shown on espn/cbs all the time, but since they spent so much of the dev cycle on presentation this year I think it'd be a pretty dumb decision not to let people use it just because they play with lower teams. I'm fine if they don't have commentary like last year, but I still hope that we'll see the espn and cbs overlays.

PS3 Owners, I have a question.
If i'm able to copy my roster file to a flash drive, does that mean we have flash drive roster sharing this year? Because I will flip the eff out if we do.
(I ask because I was just able to copy my roster to my flash drive)

ehh,
Great call on varsity! This is playing incredibly realistic, getting good foul results with: shooting 60, reach 100, charge 100, in air 50. I also like fatigue at 95

I've basically only played CH2k8 for PS2 and I've been thinking of picking up a 360 just to get this game if it sounds worth all that money. Thanks so much for all the impressions, I've read every page and have gone back and forth on whether I think I'll spring for it. I still have a few things I am wondering, I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out. I didnt play NCAA 09 so I'm clueless on a lot of things.
In dynasty mode is their a coaching carousel like in CH2k8? Do people get fired, and can you move from one school to another?
I understand the schedules are inaccurate, but are you able to try to make your own schedule in dynasty so long as the team agrees to play you? For example, mid-majors can't schedule home and homes with BCS types but they can with teams of the same prestige.
Is every game played in dynasty apart of the ESPN or CBS broadcast package? I think it would be sweet and realistic if when playing with mid-majors you only get appropriate tv coverage depending on the game, that would make those games so much more intense when you get there.
I know its probably too early to ask but is it appropriately hard for a small school to land a 5 or 4 star recruit?
Someone said you can't view other teams schedules or boxscores in your dynasty. Is this true? That seems like it would really make it hard to get immersed into my dynasty. Can you see what recruits other teams have signed during the season? Do they rank recruiting classes each year?
If the dynasty in NCAA doesn't look like it will keep me I was thinking of getting a 360 anyways and get CH2k8 for it and retire my ps2. One thing that bugs me with CH2k8 is the sim stats are really bad and bench players seem to get an absurd number of minutes and some games starters barely play for whatever reason. I was wondering if other people experienced this or perhaps it was because I was on the ps2 version. The sim stats sound great in NCAA 2010 though.
Lastly, I know these requests are probably really annoying, but can someone give me a rundown of the Zags roster? They have a lot of freshman and I want to see if they got them all and how accurate the ratings are.
Thanks a million for everyone contributing to this thread!!!

Well I figured out why I'm missing so many layups on Varsity, it's because for some stupid reason Kemba Walker has 62 for "field goal", the lowest rating of any guard on UConn's roster. Even one of the walk-ons has 69 for FG. Geez EA, there goes any plans I had of playing this game online. Every other comparable PG in the game I looked at had this rating in the mid 80's at the minimum.
Played most of a UConn vs Quinnipiac game to see what it was like in a mismatch game. Everything looked good, I killed them on the glass, shot over 50%, they were in the 30% range and I was up by over 20 with 15 minutes left in the game when I quit.
Also no maize alternates for Michigan, terrible.

Can anyone take a picture or video of UNCC's Halton Arena. I want to see how close they came to making this building.

This is the first NCAA B'ball game I've bought in a long time, and I like what I'm seeing so far. The presentation is fantastic, and while I like the gameplay for the most part, I'm really frustrated thus far at turnovers and play in the paint. I need work on those two things I guess. I like it a lot so far though.

-Is it just me or do courts seem small? Either that or the scale of players is off. I didn't notice it in Live?!? Something is off, and is somewhat annoying to me. Maybe a different camera will help?
-I like the crowd noise, but wish it transitioned to highs and lows better. Kind of seems like they are too consistently amped. Would prefer more variety. Quiet, moans, explosion after great play, clapping for motivation on defense, etc.
-disappointed no authentic Hec-Ed (uw huskies), figured it would make the cut for arena but guess not.

via PM:
SIU's court is way lighter. almost a pinkish tone to the court. no SIU "university style" logo. the SOUTHERN ILLINOIS font at the endlines is different. outskirt is not see through.. everything seems to be there. not sure about the court name at center court on the oob
AZs court looks to be there. big A at halfcourt like that photo
Gonzgas court doesnt have the kennel logo or the other one. just gonzaga under one basket, BULLDOGS on the other. with gonzaga university logo at halfcourt. just like that photo
Rutgers looks food. the checkerboard weave court is somewhat there. if you pause and look, you see it, but theres really no color difference. everything else is good.
some other notables:
seton hall has listed at playing at "newark arena". home of nhl team etc... i think they moved to prudential center awhile back
st johns is ONLY home to "msg"
villanova is ONLY home to wachovia center
I gotta say though, the jerseys look awesome.
only the big 6 appear to have the alternate uniform treatment
others are doing a great job on the gameplay front. ill cover what i know best lol
biggest oversight yet:
UW MILWAUKEE is set to play in the Klotsche Center. Its true its home of the basketball team and volleyball team, but WOMENS in real life. The men play elsewhere. instead we get where the women play.. took me 2 minutes to realize that was wrong
