After reading some of these comments, I don't know I that should download the patch lol. At what point is someone from EA gonna chime in on what people are talking about???
Dont think they are going to.. Usually it is like this from year to year with both companies.. When they are promoting the game they are always around, and posting, but when there are problems that arise they usually disappear for some reason..
That being said, I dont really expect them to address the situation.. would be nice but its not expected... Maybe after the PS3 patch comes out, and more members report the different oddities that the 360 users are seeing they might address the situation..
who knows, but im enjoying the game pre-patch on ps3, so hopefully when the patch drops it wont screw up my experience with the game...
If so I will just have to play with default rosters and delete the game data so that the patch will disappear..
People talking about the patch releasing on the same day as the PSN Store update don't know what they are talking about. I will reiterate what's already been said by those who know - Patches will come out virtually any day of the work week and even in some cases of multiplat games, it DOES come out earlier than the 360, at times. Two incorrect arguments; that's how rumors spread.
Like I even said before, based on how some find more issues with the patch than others, I look forward to the fixes as the game, pre-patch, has plenty of probs, as is. At least some of the 'major issues' that I have with the game will be cleared up. I understand the nature of patches. I'm in IT so I can live with one thing being fixed but something else being broken and some of what sounds like it could "broken" doesn't all quite sound universal. It's all in perspective just like anything in life. I want the patch as soon as possible yet it's Thurs. night, EST, and still no patch for the PS3 but I do hold on to hope that it just may coincide with tonite's PSN store update since it's still not updated.

That's not a good look, I hope a developer steps in soon, the game is fun right now, though with it's share of issues. I'd like to keep it that way, while reducing as many as the problems as possible.
Oh, and someone made a good point I meant to make earlier - The PS3 patch COULD have a diff. effect on the game than what it has done to the 360. We'll see.
I don't know if this has been asked and I don't really want to go back 58 pages but does anyone know if this patch is gonna fix the players heads on the PS3?
During replays and the games there is definitely wrong with the pixels on the heads. All the bald players or ones with really short hair have pointy heads and it looks bad.
If it ain't broke, why fix it? Off the top of my head there were only a handful of things that I wanted them to patch.
1. Tone down big men losing the ball after a rebound.
2. Improve the subsitution menus
3. Fix online fatigue
4. Stop players running out of bounds all the time
Live went from being outstanding to just being playable after the patch. Like others have said, I feel like the control I used to have has been taken away. The game feels more sluggish, the passing is worse, and I'm seeing bricked dunks all over the place. I'm definitely a little disappointed right now.
Getting sucked into a post up animation at random is getting very annoying. The way it worked before the patch was much better. If you're gonna include a button for us to do it manually, why even have any automatic post up at all? They need to take it out and just make us click in the stick when we want to do it or something.

My impression of the patch process with MS and Sony is that the developer submits the patch to both companies who then put them through their QA process at which time if it passes, gets released.
That said, both Microsoft and Sony would be working off the same patch submitted to them by the Live team but for some internal reason did not release them on the same day - either because of timing or because Sony's QA has not passed it.
In any case, my best guess is that it's the same patch as the Live team would have submitted it to both companies at the same time. If Live were to pull the patch from Sony before it got released and provide it with another patch that addressed the issues found in the XBox patch, it would in all likelihood count as their 2nd patch which would bump up against their 2 free patch limit.

100% agreed. I hope the developers are paying attention to this, and in the process of fixing these issues. JWill created a thread addressing the 3 point exploit, which "iminurbase" replied that this problem would be addressed in the "next title update". I'm hopeful that means there is another patch to come. Who even knows if that will really be addressed. Fatigue, Subs and a few other things were said to be getting fixed via this last patch, and obviously that was not the case.
I'm honestly at the point where I would happily deal with playing the game the way it was pre patch, over how the game plays post patch. And again, I'm speaking in terms of online play. Still haven't tried dynasty mode.

I think there will be. I also think they were smart in their patching approach. They didn't release a Day-One patch (see FIFA 10) but instead took their time and listened to community feedback for what issues needed to be addressed.
Unfortunately, the finished product is leaving many players wanting (as evidenced by this very thread) but fortunately, they still have one free patch to go. And mind you, they may not stop at two (see NCAA 10) but if they did it wouldn't surprise me as two is the usual number of title patches you'll see (due to the significant costs associated with patches 3 and up). Here's to hoping! (Not that it matters to me. I traded mine in, on impulse, after patch 1. )
Can someone from EA let us know if the PS3 Patch has been canceled? Can EA stop Sony from releasing it if they react quickly since the patch form what Ive been reading broke the game for 360 users.
The only thing I want is the post up button.
I'm on PS3 and I can't believe, if what many of you say is true, that EA made the game worse and less sim with the patch. I'm appalled.
I havent downloaded the patch yet. I was wondering based on the patch impression thread whether the improvements that were made could simply be reached w/slider qnd global player edit changes. For example, supposedly the patch has helped to stop some of the herky jerky animations. I lowered the agility slider and have reduced the herky jerkyness of players. I also lowered the vertical attribute so that the dunks look realistic. I lowered 3p shooting tendency to cut down on the 3's so that temas average about 18 per game. I also lowered game spd to make the pace a bit more realistic. I tinkered with fouls to get realistic results as well as alter hands in post and perimeter. Note that I predominately watch CPU games. At this point is there anything that th patch can offer me to make it worth downloading?

Just a hunch.
The patches can be different, sometimes, because the actual copies of the game can have different glitches and bugs, sometimes, depending on the system, and the devs could make the patches slightly different for each system. If the patches are not partial to a system, then sometimes the patches can affect one game differently since their could be different bugs for each game on either system. Plus the programming IS different for each system so that can also factor in to the effects of patches and such.
It's a toss up, in that regard, and I'm well aware of how each company has different certification processes which can also be dependent on their workload.

I would never let the opinion of people online influence me as most over react and love to complain. I'd rather get the patch and form my own opinion as even if there are new glitches they can be fixed with future updates. What I do know is the devs here have responded and have been very honest about legitimate problems. So if the patch does not cause any severe damage in gameplay I say bring it on because I need manual post up and player lock asap!
