I like the game without the first patch, normal speed, accelerated clock off myself.

And keeping the community in the loop on a rough timeline is now "hyping"?

Confused.
You're brave to come to these boards with all these wolves here. Yes I empathize with both sides, but it appears you're in a no win situation here Ian. Good luck, and kudos to you and your team for the vast improvements I've personally seen in the Madden franchise this year.

Using words like this can be interpreted as hyping.
"lots of good improvements, additions, fixes. "

Yes! I can't wait to play Madden again. I'm just not really feeling it's current state. I'm awaiting patch #2.

And at least this isn't 2k where you're guaranteed to not get a patch....MLB Front Office Manager

This board has been a festering cesspool lately. Really unfortunately because this game isn't bad at all. Maybe not someone's cup of tea but reading the posts around here it feels like 2007 and it's just not like that anymore.

Why is it hype when everyone is demanding to know when it would be released? I check in here every day just to see if there is news on the patch. I appreciate knowing when the information will be available.

I will now return to hoping with all my might that when that information is released it includes a line about "more instant replays" or "replay slider".

Thanks for the update, Ian.

I'm starting to agree, I came here last year because the rhetoric was more supportive and creative. How do we help the Madden franchise turn it into the best game possible? People like TheWatcher, GloriousArc, & others have contributed a lot to the boards. But the influx of whining b**tches on this board has really made me question whether to continue to come here.

I'm here because I want Madden to be the best football simulation it can be, and I thought my voice along with others on this site would be the best place. I'm questioning that right now.

It seems to be that there are just so many people who mindlessly hate on the game that the ones that like it are just scared to say anything because they are afraid of getting ripped.

Am I the only one finding it funny people are acting like Madden is the only sports game to ever get patches?

Pretty much every sports game, and most non-sports games get multiple patches and updates throughout their life cycle.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Bottom line.

This is hardly a Madden only phenomenon.

Bingo. All you can do is get another copy of the same game or trade it in (if that store accepts trade-ins). Opened software is not refundable as far as I know.

One of the few reasons I'm still on this forum is that the developers are here. Prior to last year when they started posting, it felt as though we customers had little input into the game.

Exactly, its the main reason I'm here. But I'm beginning think with all the crap I'm seeing tossed at Ian that he won't be here for long. I hope the moderation team takes that into account because I for one LOVE the dev interaction here. The intereaction here is like no other sports game I've ever played (outside of OOTP baseball).

What a horrible way to develop a product! I mean what will there be; five or six weeks of the NFL season completed by the time Madden 10 has officially fixed it's "known" problems? Problems that were mostly found by consumers, not their QA department? I'm sorry, that's just not right!
EVERY game does it. Guess you might as well trade in your 360/PS3. Oh, and your PC.

Would you rather developers not fix issues.

Take the game to the store, tell them that its not working properly and that you would like to return it.

You can't return broken games for a refund. Only for a copy of the same game - at best.

At least that's the way stores around here are. Piracy and all that is often the cited reason why they have these policies.

I must have missed all that - because I see nothing like what goes on at the OOTP boards (and I don't even post there all that often).

I've been here with relative frequency (though also relatively new) and haven't seen anything like what Markus does over there.

Im not holding my breathe, but I would love to see roster updates effect franchises as well... mainly because I'm in one that's very active everybody plays weekly, but I've still got players on my team from before the first roster update.

Yep, they do it right over at OOTP.

Wow, that wouldn't fly with the stores here!

Here, it's same title only.

That's sweet your friend found a shop that will exchange for an item of the same value.
