I think this thread is turning into this one: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...hread-2-a.html

We can all argue all day about the quality of Madden and whether or not it relies on patches more than other games, but it does nothing. It's certainly not my call, but I'm pretty sure this thread has run it's course. Besides, this will all continue in the actual announcement thread AND the subsequent release thread. Then everyone can just copy and paste the debate at that time...lol.

Period!!!!!!!!
I never said you cant enjoy the game. Its just obvious online and offline are both flawed. Go play 10 random games online and tell me how enjoyable it is. Id rather not have to play "house rules" offline to not win every game. Not throwing to the flats or slants, running out of bounds on INT's or diving after fumble recoveries, the list goes on and on. All to make up for poor programing or AI. If you told me 5 years ago I would be doing that, Id call you a lair.

Just because I have issues doesn't mean the game is total junk. Just because you enjoy it doesn't mean it doesn't need to be fixed.

Seriously, I would hope you see that fixing issues with the game should do nothing but make it more enjoyable for you and playable for others.

True. But doesn't the fact that you bought it mean that you think it's worth the price you paid for it?

Help them? Be their expert? Child please.

If EA has no idea how to make a football game, then I'd rather not help them (until I get paid), and allow them to eventually fall from grace. And hopefully someone more competent steps up.

BTW, they were helped plenty last year, and this is what we got-terrible pursuit angles, terrible blocking, more Robo QB, Robo WR, 2-in-1 tackling, tons of bugs and glitches, etc. Not to mention, everything that was posted could be found in the same game that Ian claimed to have already studied. And some things were STILL implemented horribly. And the same problems still exist after 4 years. No OSer can help this team enough.

This isn't rocket science, it's football. The NFL should be ashamed to have EA Tiburon developing this game, period. But, the license didn't go to the better developers. It went to the ones with the most money. Shocker.
I'm just curious. Why does there have to be an NFL game at all? And what exactly stopped the other developers from outbidding EA?

yep...

Well...some of the arguments will change...

"they patched _____ but not ______?! How could they not patch _____?"

"I can't believe I waited for this patch. It fixes nothing."

"They fixed ____? It shouldn't have been broken in the first place."

That's funny

I just want to see the list of fixes for patch 2. I don't have the game but if patch 2 can fix certain things i'll give it another rent.

Any Idea when the details of patch 2 is going to be released?

As far as saying what is wrong about the game and what is right. That is played out already. Everything that was needed to be said for both arguments has been said already.

Right now we are at a different phase.
If you like the game wait for patch 2 and enjoy the game even more.

If your on the fence and are waiting for patch 2 , just wait and see what happens after u install the patch.

If you totally hate the game, just move on cause trust me we have been heard and have made extremely valid points, and all we can really do is leave Madden alone all together or see what happens with Madden 11.

I'm in the category of hating the game, but after a while hearing the same beef over and over gets tired.

Usually if a demand can be found, a product will be made, look at the "Snuggie" or "Comfort Wipe".

Please dont try your "Its not in the Constitution you have one" logic. Its about as silly as saying "the 11th commandment was thou shall have NFL video game".

What stopped other developers from outbidding, I would have to suggest common sense. Especially when you consider the number that was "leaked", it would be hard to imagine that much profit being made of these games.

However, an over confident game creator who plans on using the same game engines with little or no core upgrades or rebuilds for the next 6 installments might go for it. Plus they knew they could corner the market, so maybe that insane number is correct. If anybody over values themselves in the NFLPA.

EA has to tools and access to make the best video game, that's undeniable. Yet it still cant stride for stride with a 5 year old title built on seriously outdated hardware. No part of 2k5 should be better than M10.

Have they nailed down a specific day they'll be releasing the info?

Players wearing snuggies in cold weather on the sideline in M11?

Or maybe fans in the stands with team snuggies?

The people who made the Snuggie and Comfort Wipes didn't do so out of the goodness of their hearts. They did it to make money.

Until someone presents EA with a cost-effective solution to the "problem," it's unrealistic to expect the demand to be heard. Until then, stop buying Madden and play 2K5 instead.

Madden 10 2nd title update is not in 3rd party approvals yet (@godzcomplex)...still a little bit of time to go til it hits.about 4 hours ago from Echofon in reply to godzcomplex

Why can't they release the details NOW? I admit that I don't know all the legalities of it, but you would think that EA could release the info for patch #2 right now if they're close to sending it off for approval. I readily admit that I'm ignorant on this subject but common sense tells me that the patch details should have already been dropped.

I have currently given up on Madden... Meaning I've been disappointed with it since 2008 and have not bought it since. I've rented it, read the boards, reviews, etc... and it still seems that they are unable to release a good football game. I do like NCAA but have kind of boycotted EA for the past two years... I used to buy every single EA release (Madden, Live, NCAA Football and Basketball, Tiger Woods, etc) but have not given them a dime in two years. I'm waiting to see what patch 2 does and what the consumer response will be. Even then, I probably won't buy Madden 10, but I am hoping Madden 11 is worth a purchase.

I'm not holding my breath.

If you follow the same time line as the first patch, it spent just over two weeks getting approved.

Patch two hasn't been submitted yet and they already claimed they can do noting to expiate the process once its submitted.

Unless we just got lied too about the first patch process or Ian just lied on Twitter about the status of patch two. I could easily see early November before we can get it.

I Personally love this game as well. Everygame comes down to the wire for me, I play on All-Madden. Before the patch it was damn near impossible to play, i just got frustrated with the amount of fumbles and dropped passes. Since Patch 1 came out, I can actually run the ball, and its really entertaining to play. I think its awesome, cant wait to see the other improvements coming out with patch 2. I really wish we can get some field degradation, has anyone even noticed this at all? I have yet to see sloppy games in the rain, or players jerseys gettin dirty, NCAA 10 has it, why not madden?
