Madden 2010 News Post

Check out the Madden NFL 10 FAQ - Part 1.

Quote:
"Hey Madden fans! It's been a little while since we dropped a post here on the blog, but we wanted to use this opportunity to answer a bunch of the most asked questions that have been showing up on forums, twitter, etc.

We thought we'd try something new though and do the FAQ in video form. It just made it more personal.

Some key points before you watch:

- The first title update was completed before the game shipped (in case you are wondering why certain issues didn't make it in)
- We're hard at work on the second title update, focusing primarily on various aspects of gameplay
- We're going to continue to make more of these FAQ videos."

If anyone wants to transcribe all of it I bet I could find some swag to send.

That's all well and good, but if it bears no resemblance to real life then why bother.

I'm more interested in offline myself, but I don't care what his preference is.

He's the Creative Director of Madden overall, not the Online Director.

I'm a little concerned about if the offensive players' pursuit ratings were increased for the draft classes as well..... :/

I would hate for the defense to score a bunch of TDs again a couple years into franchise because the new guys don't know how to take a good angle on an interception..

My only response to that is that is something that you have to be looking for. I didn't notice anything till I came on here and people were complaining about it. I only dump it in the flats when I sense trouble.

And on that same note. So the online director is his boss?
Yeah, the Online Director demanded the 1st patch be all about online while the offline issues wait for the second patch. That's how it goes in the video game business.

This isn't going anywhere. I'm not sure how you can read people's mind from the internet just based on words.

Ian more interested in online vs offline and I'm taking things too personal.

Back on topic.

Thanks Ian for the updated information.

I too would like to know this, I have seen Chris Hanson owning Osi in my game, all I could do was laugh at the stupidity of it

Great video, thanks for the update Ian.

Please forgive me if this was answered because I didn't hear or see it...but do I have to rstart my franchise for these patch updates to take affect?

Thanks for the info Ian.

If anything, I would like to echo the call for clarification on tackles stats (and other stat fixes) and ask that if anything can be done about offline franchise customization, it be looked into. Being able to fully edit players mid-franchise (to include attributes) would go a long way towards adding replay value to the mode...at least for me.

Maybe you can convince Josh to do a FAQ on what specific plans he has for fixing some of the franchise concerns...just an idea.

Look out for Josh to come swooping through here pretty soon.

here's my main gripe. i know this first patch was pretty much finished before the game was even officially released, but wouldn't the tackle statistics be one of the first things you notice? but i truly appreciate the works you guys put into fixing up some of the bugs and issues and kudos to you guys.

i can work around all the other issues in the game except for the tackle statistic recordings.

but i've got one question: If the tackle stats are fixed for patch 2, then will an already made franchise need to be restarted or can we continue with it? in other words, lets say i'm on a 3rd season of a franchise when the second patch with all the stats fix is about to be released. i could survive playing a couple of seasons on a franchise with the tackle stats not adding up correctly, but not for the entirety of the franchise (10+ seasons). would tackles adding up be something that needs the franchise to be restarted or would it take place in an already built franchise?

i know im in the minority, but i tend to play well over 10 seasons with one franchise, not go through 2-3 seasons before starting over like i know many do (i was like that too a few yrs ago). i'd like to start my franchise after this patch 1 comes out, but i'd be interested in knowing the question i have asked. thanks for the work though guys.

When the first title update is released will we have to restart our offline franchise to have the changes/fixes implemented in our season games ?

# 99 DGuinta1 @ 09/09/09 07:51 PM
Nice job Ian. As someone previously mentioned, the clock not stopping on in-completes is a big problem and hoping can be addressed ASAP. Also can you please improve the end of half CPU AI logic as far as not going for it when on the opponents 25 and instead kicking punts, etc. So annoying!

good stuff... I think from now on if I seriously consider purchasing Madden it's going to be 2 months after the release date.
