Getting a sack is hard to do...that's what makes double-digit sack seasons such an impressive stat.

By Bootzilla's theory, DEs should be routinely getting 30+ sacks a season.
I believe the worst team in the NFL had about 22 sacks last season. Thats over one a game.

Now teams like Pittsburgh and Dallas and Giants had 50-60 sacks so when you play a game and there is only 1 sack and some times 0 sacks by either team that is REALLY UNREALISTIC.

Demarcus Ware had 20 sacks by himself and Harrison had 16 and Woddley 11 this guys should be getting consistant pressure.

Ware got 3 sacks against Walter Jones last season.

When you play madden these guys should have as much impact as say Chris Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald have.

Alot off passrushers are getting paid as much as Qbs so pass rush is a huge part of the NFL and is extremely important.

And without an effective pass rush playing defense in Madden will be extremely difficult and broken

I would also like to add, that I was 100% convinced that EA could not in any way shape or form make nice progress for Madden 10 in a 1 yr span, and I'm looking 100% wrong.

Now I'm becoming a believer , and if they covered this much ground in 1 yr. I'm comfortable in saying that they could do a lot in 2 weeks.

When I read that Ian stood up to 5 in the morning to get the multiple cameras working for us. Man I gained show much respect for the man and his team.

The demo is just an appetizer, and the main course comes Aug 14th. That's the day when we get everything on our plate.

Ahh young Jedi, the real weakness in the position you are fighting against is that it is not about sacks like your interlocutors assumes. It's about pressure and forcing throws early; forcing over and under throws. We need a lot more of that.

The interface is gorgeous.

You can actually see how the play should be ran from a distance.

You dont ahve to be up on the TV to see where your man should be.

The speed is perfect. Now we dont ahve any excuse to allow the CPU to do everything.

You now have time to make your moves.

Thats true about pressures alot more pressures occur than sacks but the numbers dont lie 60 sacks by the steelers and its a struggle to get 1 in a game.

Definitely need more under throws and over throws.

I just hope once the pass rush is fixed the cpu takes sacks rather than just try and thread the needle leading to many picks like in last years game unless the cpu is Rex Grossman then its lifelike.

Also puzzling that on press coverage the corners always give up the inside and with a lack of a pass rush if the wr is running a dig, slant or post then thats an easy completion every time.

I experienced a lot of suction tackles, ones that probably prevented me from scoring TDs. To elaborate a bit more I guess, I had Fitzgerald running to the right corner of the endzone, then all of a sudden stop when the defender behind me suctioned toward me. That was frustrating. But I really have no other negatives, I thought the demo was solid. The lack of commentary surprised me, in that it really took away from the game. Never thought I'd say that.

This. Again, it's not about the sacks people... it's about the pressure. Pressure by the DL, so the QB doesn't stand there in the pocket for more than 5 secs.

i can guarantee potty train will be in the final build. thats a animation and animations are set so the only way that animation not to be there it would have to be removed from the madden slot machine. my overall impression is good for madden 10. presentation and passin are the high points but the low points can be game killers for some
I guess if I want to see "real" animations, I'll stand in line and wait 50 years for tickets at Lambeau or go see the Badgers at Camp Randall.

In a sports video game, I just don't expect everything to be flawless.

Another poster stated, if this stuff is happening every three plays, then yeah, the game is broken. For 120 plays, if it happens no more than 5 or 6 times for me, then I'm alright with that. That's only 2% of the time that happens and that's very random.

No way are they the same

The 1 minute demo is light years ahead of the gamestop demo

I stopped playing the gamestop demo

The 1 minute demo is smoother and graphics are even sharper with less jags

and speed is up a notch i would say...feels great

dont fee bad CB.... I got killed 35-0 in All Madden the first time playing this morning

use the sliders...

Interesting, I was thinking the same thing after playing both today too. The 1 minute demo felt smoother and faster. I just chalked it up to me enjoying playing with the giants.

Good god...please don't tell me this is going to be in the retail version. This "rotating arm / axe" glitch is in NCAA. It happens when you hit stick. Very annoying...

I don't play online.

that 1 min gamestop demo feels way to rushed when playing it. i honestly think people are better off just waiting for the final game, than to play this 1 min demo..

I don't think it does anything to pursuade people to buy it.. in fact maybe the opposite.

with no announcers, and and only 1 min quaters.. the peresentation is non existant.

I wasn't disagreeing with you about the sacks though. I was just saying that for those opposing you their examples don't quite get at what you and others are trying to present. Sacks we need, but pressure is the real clue. Also, I hate that the CBs do that. This game needs a more expansive game plan and I will be talking about that in an upcoming blog.

Dude...this game is slower than Feb 29th...I can see now that I will spend the first few days in practice mode getting used to this speed.

# 756 TheWatcher @ 07/23/09 07:55 PM
I'm feeling now that if they'd added at least three more seconds to every post-play situation including the Stars of the game part, the timing would be perfect.

# 757 BadApple @ 07/23/09 07:57 PM
can somebody please help me out

When I download the normal demo, it 'overwrites' the gamestop demo, and I can have both for some stupid reason.

Anybody know how to get both demos???

I have a 360 and ps3, but don't wanna wait till the 30th just to play the normal demo.

# 758 theironlung82 @ 07/23/09 07:57 PM

What system are you on ?

# 760 boooey @ 07/23/09 07:58 PM
a few issues i encountered

1. Had a fight for the fumble.. and when it was over they just cut right back to the play call screen, they didn't even show the player get up with the ball or anything. Nothing on the screen to even show you who recovered it. The whole process seemed so rushed that you didnt even know what was happening.
2. I couldn't see the football on field goals at night.
3. Cut scenes did not match the current situation.
4. Booth challenged play, and overtuned it without me even know what the heck was going on, it all happened it like 5 seconds.

Presentation is better, but seems very out of sync and rushed
