NCAA Football 10 News Post

It's unfortunate that a we've allowed a few things to get by onto the disc in NCAA 10, this kind of thing bother us just as much as you guys... We do have time to work on some solutions, and here is the update as promised:
  • Rosters - A new file will be posted on EA locker to start and then we are planning on patching the online rosters.
  • Downloadable Content - The plan is to add the off/on toggle in a patch.
  • Game-play Sliders - Also planned on being in a patch to increase/fix the effectiveness depending on the slider.
It is extremely important to me (and everyone else on the team) to ensure that we get everything right as soon as possible. I wish I could say mistakes don't happen, but they did and we are going to do everything possible to get things right.

Russell, is there any way to patch jersey changes like the WVU pants or the Iowa face masks?

Yeah, I agree with you on the fact that what's done is done. I don't know, nor care why this happened. I'm just pissed that it happened AGAIN. You think change is a comin', but I'll believe it when I see it... and I haven't seen it yet.

So now, let's try and push for an answer as to when this first patch will be available for us. I'm seriously hoping it's July 14th because the closer it is to the Madden release, the least likely I'll even give NCAA a chance.

The problem is though, if they allow sliders to not work out the box two straight years knowing how important they are to sim players how committed do you really think they are in giving the sim guys what they want.

Good post Maximus.

Did the first slider red flag go up when Steve posted the videos? I assumed they have testers that test all aspects of this game before they finalize everything. But you know what they say about assumptions.

Thanks for showing us that you care.

I think it's safe to say that we all appreciate the effort to correct these issues.

I'm sure one of these years EA will learn how to make the sliders work.

Flaming is against the TOS of the operation sports forums. Or so I was warned/infracted.

^^^Never said I would flame them, but I wouldn't blame somebody if they did.

I'm speechless. I can NOT believe sliders are broken yet again. This blows my mind even more then the wrong roster file being on the game.

This is the only video game I've consistently played over the years. I ONLY come onto the message boards this time of year to get NCAA impressions.

And I've bought NCAA on release day everday since 2003 but I just cancelled my preorder with this news. I will wait until the patch is released and then decide whether or not to purchase.

Unbelievable...

I think I speak for the entire community when I say that we appreciate your team's dedication to the community, Russ. While many of us may be vocal and harsh yet constructive critics of the game, ultimately we simply want the same thing you all want, and that's an excellent college football game this year. To me the demo clearly indicates that the pieces are in place for this to happen, and should your team address the community's concerns post-release as you say you all will, we'd be very appreciative.

Well, most of us, anyhow, but I try to think positive.

This is exactly what I wanted to post.

I actually feel like the NCAA 2010 demo plays better.

I also like the Aggressive/Non-Aggressive stuff.

I do have a question though, are the ratings for some players changing or are freshman just being added in???

There's no excuse for this, IMO. If you mess something up one year, you would certainly think you'd make damn sure you didn't do it again next year. I can't remember the last time I actually heard good news about this game.

Wow.

Wanna bet?

And how long did it take last year before the slider patch was released…? And when it WAS released, did it work…?

Don’t bother answering—these were rhetorical.

Seriously, anyone who buys this game—and then turns around and bitches about it—should receive a lifetime ban from OS. And then be kicked in the nuts.

I call BS. The sliders were broke in NCAA 09. The patch to fix the sliders didn't work. You didn't fix them in NCAA 10. Instead you added Season Showdown sponsored by Coke Zero and FG nets. If it bothered EA they would have fixed it. Period.

You did almost nothing to improve NCAA 10 and it still features most of the deficiencies from NCAA 09. The blocking AI is still terrible. The suction effect is still there.

EA royally screwed up the rosters. The scary thing is we discovered the roster error for EA. If they missed something that important, what else did they miss?

The game is flawed out of the box but EA promises to patch it

I'm sick of trying to be politically correct.

The NCAA development team should be embarrassed. The roster and the slider issues are HUGE mistakes; not minor bugs. They should pay us to be beta testers because NCAA 10 is not a finished product. This is the least a sports game has ever improved in a one-year development cycle.

Very much appreciated.

Hopefully, the sliders will be increased in power SUBSTANTIALLY to the point that moving a slider just 2 or 3 clicks is noticeable.

There should never be a slider set at 0 or 100 if they are "truly" effective.
